Interesting book, and one everyone should read at some time or another since the information is useful and valuable. The beginning contains personal reflections of growing up on a farm, and marrying, and eventually ending up in the family funeral business and living in the funeral home. Personal anecdotes and stories are amusing and interesting. Then, the book takes a turn and explains just what happens in this business. I had high hopes for this book. I thought it might be a Mitford type book told in funny anecdotes by the funeral director's wife. Instead she tells her life story in two pages and then spends the test of the book telling the reader how to run a funeral home and/or plan your own funeral.
