short smutty read

A cute and humorous comedy full of awkward situations and dirty humor. The story is simple and honestly very little more than porn. As a whole though this book works as a bit of fun to read, admittedly slightly immature fun but fun.

This novella is why I turn to short books to get out of and prevent major reading slumps!! Lucy and Matt are funny, sexy, and sweet characters that are all about instant-lust and I was completely here for it!

This was my first Brighton Walsh book and I don't intend for it to be my last. This was just such a fun and enjoyable read. It was funny, sexy, and so easy to read. The chemistry between the two lead characters, Lucy and Matt, just jumps off the pages. The sexy banter between the two is priceless. My only complaint is it was just too short. It is one of those times I didn't want to see the end come.

A novella about a neighbor looking for sugar but finding so much more.
Avidez Literaria
After an absurdly stressful day, all Lucy wants to do is drown in sweetness. And nothing better than a few cupcakes to cure a bad mood. But when she gets home, she finds out she has no sugar and is forced to knock on the neighbor's door to borrow a cup of the ingredient. She just didn't expect to come face to face with a hot new neighbor, totally wet and answering the door with only a towel. Nor did she expects to lose the ability to think and speak clearly and be ashamed in front of the hottie. ...more
I swear, Brighton Walsh can do no wrong. I can't get enough of her words. It baffles me that I waited so long to read The Neighbor. I have zero excuses. But, I'm glad I read it today. The audio version was just what I needed in my life. It was the perfect combination of steamy and funny. A delicious bite-sized little morsel.

This was a short podcast so naturally you can’t have huge character development. It was very good for what it was though. If you’re a fan of insta lust then you’ll definitely like it. It’s one of the better ones I’ve seen. I really liked the quirky heroine.
Super-neurotic girl meets cute new neighbour down the hall. The dialogue was funny and clever. The heroine’s neuroses got tiresome pretty quick for me though.

Part of Read Me Romance podcast, episode 62.

Funny, cute, and sexy, Lucy & Matt’s story is easily enjoyed. Told in single POV (Lucy’s), I really enjoyed the narration, her tone, pace and inflections were perfectly on point with the unfolding story.

Don't drive while listening to this one! This was hilarious especially when Lucy first meets Matt. I would have said the same thing she did!!! The plot was hilariously funny with a happy ending. It's a fast paced read and one that could be added onto for a longer book. Brighton Walsh is a first time author to me and what a way to kick-off my love affair with her writing. The storyline flows smoothly throughout. Her writing style is simple and easy to understand. I will be definitely adding this ...more

One of the better books on the RMR podacast! I actually found myself laughing out loud even. The narrator was great - pleasant voice, smooth, and no irritating quirks. And the book wasn't even all that cheesy compared to some others I've listened to. The only issue I had was that it ended pretty abruptly. I thought there would at least be an epilogue or some type of closure, but instead it just kind of came to a sudden stop. But overall it was a really cute story that was surprisingly well-writt ...more

In March, I read my first Brighton Walsh's book (The first in a new series: Second Chance Charmer) and I'm (Im)patiently waiting for the next one to be out!!!

This 6 chapters story is free with a subscription from the author's newsletter. We meet Lucy at the end of adifficult day. She's out of sugar and when she went to her neighbor to get some, she met Matt, a towel around his hips and she embarassed herself in front of him. He's smitten. It's lust at first sight for both of them. Mortified, Luc

A delightful gem of evade and attack. Lucy evades and Matt attacks. Lucy’s had a tough day, an epigram of everything that can go wrong has... nothing seems to be going her way. Nothing will soothe her savage breast other than cupcakes, cupcakes will make it all better. Evidently her bad luck hasn’t ended because her bare cupboards are sugarless.

She soldiers on resolute that cupcakes will save her sanity, she begins knocking on doors, all of whom seem to have a life, determined to get her well-d

This was such a fast read, and the ending leaves the story wide open. I'm not sure if I'm happy about that or not, to be honest.

I seriously love Lucy. She's every awkward girl in life who also has no filter. I literally laughed out loud when she first met Max and said what she did. And also her avoiding him for days afterward is oh so true for many women who are embarrassed and are trying to hide.

But Max is very sneaky and finally got a chance to "officially" met Lucy, and what an introduction
