Rabbit Holes

Rate this book
RABBIT HOLES is a collection of poetry and prose about falling - up, down, in love and out of it, to the next world or another dimension, into a dream or a nightmare, a pit of darkness or a well of light, into a political hailstorm, adulthood, and defining new times. It is the notion that everything must break before blossoming, must lose its way in order to find or be found.

It reimagines the “lost girl” as a woman who drew a map and succumbed to the hands of growth.

"I am paper, I am endless, what a curse, to never die. But everyone wants to love a writer.
like blood and ink, they always want you until you stain." - "Becoming"

I have read her first book and this second one does not disappoint me. I can sense the pain and other emotions in her words and there were a lot of prose work that made me relate to her. Beautifully written!

Naiche's beautiful writing always brings me so much joy. Rabbit Holes is no exception. What a heartbreaking collection of poetry, about love, being a woman, and rediscovering yourself. My favorites are "If He Wants to Live Forever, Let Him Do It on His Own," "I Am,""Letters to the People Who Have Disappointed Me," "Advice," "Goddesses Love Goddesses," "It Was Just Locker Room Talk," and "Solitude, Or Falling in Love with Yourself."

God, I loved this one so much. It was so good. A lot of the poetry was personal but here was also those poems that were like small versions of my favorite mythologies and legends being retold in verse and I adored each one. It was actually very inspiring to me, as a writer. I wrote seven poems as soon as I put the books down. Seriously, if you like mythology and magic and poetry, pick up rabbit holes. Its like a spell being cast on you and taking you on a magical journey through Parker’s words. Also she is a Latina from the Bronx so REPRESENT.

Oh man, I wrote nothing for this the first time I read it.

The poetry is good. The confessionalism and romanticism is good. I didn't adore it as much as Paper and Bones, but still a very solid effort.

"It is not a fairytale. It is a becoming."

Rabbit Holes is a masterfully put together piece of art full of heart-achey words that cut right through me and make me hold my breath. About love, being true to yourself, loss, heartbreaks, and honest prose. It is becoming. Thank you,Naiche for sharing these beautiful words with us ✨
