Before I even start this review, I need to admit that I’m not a werewolf fan. I’m also not a fan of series that change main characters in each book. I only read this because the vampires I enjoyed reading about in Book 1 will be back in Book 3, and this book, despite being about different main characters, was an important part of the overall story. So take my review with a grain of salt, especially if you are a fan of those things.
Ok, so, here was my first issue: I thought these characters were terrible people. I mean, maybe that was the point—they’re NOT people, so they have different morals. But take the vampires in this series, for example. Yes, they kill, but they don’t terrorize their food before doing so. They find someone, lure them outside, then drain them. And as far as murder goes, that seems like a rather humane method. These werewolves though? They kidnap innocent humans before every full moon, keep them in the stables at the pack’s farmhouse for days, then release them (the humans) as they (the weres) are shifting so that they can chase down the humans and savagely tear them apart because it’s fun. That was how the book started. And maybe it’s just the lack of werewolf experience talking, but it tainted my opinion of them right from the start. I’m sure readers who like their werewolves portrayed as less human-like will appreciate that though.
Moving onto the individual characters… Much like the first book, this one had three POVs, and I’m not sure who the protagonist was or if there was one. The blurb makes it sound like Carson will be the protag, but he was hot-headed and manipulative and caused all the problems, so I’m not sure what he was. He was interesting though in the sense that he was like a villain who convinced himself he was a hero. The possible change of heart he had seemed random though. Then there was Kaleb, the pack alpha; he was more level-headed and cared about his pack members. There was also Priya, but she didn’t have much impact on the story. Vince was not a POV character, but he had a big part, and I did feel bad for how he must’ve felt growing up in a pack but turning out human. Spencer (a vampire from Book 1) also had a big part despite not being a POV character this time. These books are so short though, and there have been three different POV characters in each book, so I feel like I don’t know any of the characters as well as I want to, even though some of them seem interesting.
This book did have a more focused plot than the first one though, so that was good.
Overall, this book expanded on the supernatural world the author has created and introduced some new potentially interesting characters and storylines, and I do plan on continuing because I want to read more about the vampires and to find out what happens with the Spencer-August relationship, Vince’s decision, and the overall story.
Recommended For:
Fans of Book 1 in Chele Cooke's Teeth series. Anyone who likes vampires who break tropes, werewolves with a very predatory side, complex characters and relationships, and many POV characters.

Meat is the second book in the Teeth series. I really enjoyed the first book and you can find my review for that here Teeth Review. Sadly, I couldn't get into Meat at all. I DNF'd this one at a sad 12%. I'm not sure why, but I could not get into the story AT ALL. I tried for ages to keep reading, but the story didn't grab me. Personally, I think this one is a case of "It's not you, it's me." I have been so picky with genres lately and I never really felt in the mood for this one. I don't even have anything bad to say about it, I just couldn't get into it.

I can't personally recommend this one since I didn't finish it, however I did enjoy the first book in the series. If you enjoyed that one then I say try this one for sure and see.

The second part in the Teeth series centers around the furry fanged creatures of the night, but vampires are also still in it. While I'm not a fan of werewolf stories, I did enjoy this one. Again, the author portrayed the creatures and their blood hunger as brutal and murderous without any conscience. In fact, they imprisoned humans for their monthly hunting nights where they go after them to tear them apart and feed their animalistic blood frenzy. This stood in stark contrast to the wolves' sense of family and loyalty towards the pack. It was hard to sympathize with those creatures, but it was also impossible to not do so.
The plot - an intrigue set to start a war against the ever-present enemy, i.e. vampires - was interesting enough and allowed the introduction of yet another kind of supernatural creature, which we may read of more in future installments of the series.
While the first part 'Teeth' had more original bite to it, 'Meat' is a worthy sequel, and I'm curious which kind of supernatural creature we will meet in the third book and if the fragile truce between vampires and wolves will finally be broken.

I'm not going to lie I was a little disappointed when I realized this book had different characters from the first book. Even though it's been over a year since I've read Teeth but I still remember some of the characters. Also when it's in between werewolves and vampires, I always go with the vamps. So it's fair to say I was a little wary going into this book.
First of all, I would like to say the beginning was a bit dark. I get werewolves are not human so therefore they don't act that way but geez. The story started with the wolves abducting people and keeping them in a stable so they could hunt them later. They literally released them so they could hunt them down and rip them to pieces. One part of me liked that the werewolves were shown as the animals that they can be but the other part of me is still hiding behind her fingers.
Like book one there were three main POVs. I liked Kaleb a lot, he seemed so level-headed compared to the hot head Carson. Carson just seemed to cause so many problems and it was really annoying. He needed an alpha like Kaleb in his life. I didn't really understand why Priya had a POV but Vince didn't. Was it because he was a human? I think I would have preferred Vince but whatever. I was glad to see Spencer the vamp again.
I really like this series as a whole. I will absolutely read the next book to see more of my vampires storylines. I recommend this series to lovers of the supernatural.

It's possible I should've skimmed back over Teeth before reading this so I wouldn't be so confused, but I don't know how much that would've helped. I enjoyed reading this, but I wouldn't say more than the first book. I'll stop comparing the two now.
I loved the characters (most of them) and, of course, the fangs involved in this adventure. The exceptional moments came whenever there were spikes of conflict between them, and it was interesting seeing how things progressed from the first, but I'm unsure as to some of the "whys".
Either way, I was really excited during the read, amused by the dialog between the characters- one of my favorite things about this- and I definitely will be looking forward to the next.

An excellent sequel to Teeth. This time, the author explores the life of a pack of werewolves through alternating viewpoints, and their rivalry with the vampires from the first book.
While at first disappointed that the book didn't immediately follow the characters and events from Teeth, I quickly got attached to the werewolf characters and immersed again in the series's dark and mysterious universe.
But frankly, I gotta say that I love this series because its vampires and werewolves actually cruelly hunt, play with, and kill humans. They're not there to fall in love with them. Can't wait to read book three!

bit odd, bit short, some parts bit confusing, but not that much in to certain descriptions and not really in to vampire stuff that much but got it free and was about to read another book dead and buryd by same writer so wanted to make sure wasn't prequel of some sort
Coming up next after Teeth and related to story line is Meat {got it as ARC} which is out soon on kindle, but just couldn't really get in to either one, then again never was a twilight or the like fan either, maybe that's why, so saying it was a 3 for me, but hey pick it up if you have a bit of time, it may be more suited for you, this one carries on basically where Teeth left off, so if you do like it there is 1 out and now 2. IF YOU ARE A VAMPIRE TYPE FAN THIS COULD VERY WELL BE FOR YOU.
