The manuscript fascinates and takes the readers into the darkness and unbelievable humanity of mystics, religious studies, and dusk arts. As it's based on a true story, I like it the most.
In the story, the character seeks for a Sadguru to enlighten him the right path. The tome deals with supernatural basics and incidents which look as if unbelievable. To go aboard on this journey with the author, the reader's requirement to believe, partake of a pledge in spiritualism.
The source has faultlessly recited the measures, fascinating and adrenaline-charged the readers enormously. At times, precise parts got dragged a small piece moreover much, but the total prospect abetted it grow overshadowed. The dramatist discussion about how the procedures pulled him in a humanity of drama, suspense, greed, betrayal, struggle, intensity, and HOPE. And as a rule, importantly, the power and inspiration to become out of the gloomy earth towards the light. I would like to recommend this to all avid reader who’s interested in this genre.

Very different concept and plot. Different and amazing read. Story is said to be based on true events that happened with the author Kapil. The author undergoes some experiences with paranormal stuffs and experience then he came across one tantrik. He made him his Guru and learns learning through him. Those experiences are well described and interesting. There are also some chapters on Aghori saints. Indeed interesting. I am always fascinated by different content of reading. Well writing style. Reminiscences of a seeker

When I started reading this book I was constantly thinking that why the hell am I even reading this book. Starting of the book was really boring but after few pages, I wanted to continue it not because it suddenly became interesting but because I wanted to complete it as soon as possible. The plot was gripping but as it contains content of Aghoris and Tantrics it was kind of boring and creepy in some places. You need to have a really strong heart to read those rituals performed by Aghoris.

This book will be a perfect catch for those people who are in search of some spirituality and energies. The main character of this book is in search of a teacher who can guide him on the right path of spirituality but he was betrayed everytime he trusted his teacher. His teacher turns out to be a traitor when he was completely devoted to him. First, he falls in the darkness of Tantric Rituals by his first master and after that even worse (according to him) into Aughar Vidya. Both of his masters used him for their own benefits. This book is all about these rituals and practices which he performed to acquire some divine powers but in the end, he was left alone and devastated.

The language of the book is easy and simple. This book has many characters which confused me but they were well described. The title of the book is really catchy and it perfectly describes the content inside the book. The book's cover is all black with a picture of the moon and it looks quite simple and elegant. It could have been better but this cover is also very good and I like it. I will give this book 2.5 stars out of five.

Miracles happen. It is possible to   Gurus of Hinduism  ,who claim themselves to be performing them after achieving lots of powers  by reciting mantra several times  ,worshiping Gods   , having practiced celibacy and mind control   ,making so many sacrifices and learning a lot. They are famous, rich and powerful and people throng for their blessings and seek their guidelines for solving their problems .

Reminiscences of a Seeker dark face of the White World (True Story)  is the first book I have got on the Dark Arts . Usually I get books on romance, fantasy and others. This book is an exceptional one. With  curiosity I have flipped through  the book  and I like the book for all the raw truths and  poignant secrets it tells about the other  realm of Spiritual Masters.

Mysteries and surprises, spine chilling engulf me  when I   read the book. There is a lot of horrible twists and terrific turns beyond my imagination and knowledge. The book is a detailed account of the Author talks about his experience with his Masters who are usually sages , Spritual Leaders  clairvoyants ,experts in Tantric skills and ascetic sadhus called Aghoris

The book chronicles the personal experiences of the author with the paranormal world . This book takes you to the mysterious planes telling about the spiritual pursuits of the author for

Spiritual knowledge and ancient techniques The book talks about religious ascetics  who are holy persons  in Hinduism  and excel in  art  of sorcery using magic or supernatural powers and  esoteric tantra.

The Plot

The story starts with the author telling about his search for a Guru to guide him in spiritual matters . He meets in dreams several masters Like Shridi Sai Baba, Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti   He gets the guidance of SWAMI RAMANAND SARASWATI  .His search for Ultimate Divine leads him to a Tantric Guru  who  becomes his master. His name is Maharaj Trilokenath..He begins to be his disciple to learn the all about siddhi and other rituluals .  The Master tells about the necessary of practicing them on certain astrological dates .    He has attained perfect Sadhana .

The author goes on to explain about his encounters with the Master and he encounters many ordeals. . His Master teaches him about capturing ghosts. He stresses the importance of Bhoot Siddhi one of the most basic powerful siddhi . He practices in the cremation ground in the midnight. In this journey he gains control over paranormal occurrences.  He takes many tours visiting holy places with Tantric Master .  In course of time he becomes so famous and the most sought after Disciple   the Master  is jealous of him .

What is the reaction of the Master?

How the reader comes to know about the Master's evil mind?

What is the decision he takes to protect himself  ?

How  does he choose an Aghori as his second Master?

For answer to all these questions  we have to read the book.

The Pro

I like the title as it gives what the book  talks about. I also  like the cover  as it denotes the light of moon in the dark sky . There are 9 Chapters with captions all related to the Spiritual world .  To cite  examples I can quote the following

1. Divine desire fulfilled

2 My journey to My Guru's abode.

3. My Heart Opens to True Living Masters.

The book covers all facets of the Spiritual World. It includes the  relationship between Master and Disciple, jealousy and betrayal of Masters   , blind trust of disciples, Hero worship by innocent and ignorant people, the rituals unheard of in the real world,  mysterious feats of the  Masters , the interaction with ghosts and sprites , capturing souls to manipulate for their wrong ends .

He Performs rituals and reciting mantra in the cremation ground   at the midnight and the only companion is darkness. He excels in capturing souls and talking with ghosts . He has given all these details  in a nice manner.

Kapil Kumar Bhaskar the Author has penned this book in a simple language to be understood by any layman albeit the core subject of the book being the Spiritual journey  and the events are fresh and new to all.

He has depicted all the happenings in a chronological order with the highest degree of coherence  so that we get a first hand information   .The narrative prose is gripping .

Glossary of Terms used given at the last page is useful .

In the ending , not only the Author gets enlightenment but also it is a good message to all of us.

My favorite

The episode involving Maya, daughter of Asurnath has melted my heart.  She is so thoughtful enough to caution the Author . Asurnath is so greedy and evil minded he arranges "elimination "of Maya. How reckless and mean are these Self made Masters who lack humility and compassion and possess all the powers to attract people. There are so many black sheep to bring bad name to genuine persons.

Also I like the following words of wisdom

All knowledge and powers rather everything is given by him to all of us ,but these are not to be displayed (show off ) or misused , rather be used for the well being of ourselves and others. We should always be thankful to Him for His kindness. We are all children of one God and the only thing which separates us is our  ego. Ego is like a mad elephant which is ridden by our blind heart and blind mind and which ultimately destroys our real selves.

Anger , harsh words and criticism damage your aura , your energy field ....it causes holes to appear in your energy field and leaves you vulnerable .

Tantra is all about manipulating energies and laws , to manifest things at physical or spiritual reality which are not manifesting naturally or through karma.

Most of the time our inner voice tries to guide us to the 'Truth'but we , out of  our own vested interests , wish to continue living in our own self-centered illusions because it suits our purpose or fulfills our needs

As Lord Krishna who said one who outwardly  controls external senses and still mentally dwells upon the objects of senses is said to be hypocritical

My verdict

Kapil Kumar Bhaskar has written the book with a passion . In many places he tells the truth about the activities of Masters and it serves as a good message to all not to believe all they tell . He makes the book as a perfect guide for all seekers with the use of incidents taken place in his life. He has told the story in an authoritative and authenticated way  as his knowledge and experience have  helped him in this aspect.

His inexhaustible  zeal in the spiritual matters  gives the readers all the interest to read the book. For all it may not be a good read but those who are seekers of Supreme Master i.e God  definitely  give an awesome  read.

Book: Reminiscences Of A Seeker
Author: Kapil Kumar Bhaskar
Publishers: Angel Book Publications
ISBN-13: 9788193359907
Number Of Pages: 300

Reminiscences Of A Seeker by Kapil Kumar Bhaskar is a fantasy thriller. Through this book, the author describes the pure bond that is shared between a student and a teacher (Guru and his Shishya). The author has also revealed the darker side of a few people who cheat their own disciples.
Blurb:
Kapil takes you on his unforgettable true journey of the supernatural world of mystics and higher beings, unbelievable miracles and the parallel world of darkness and light, in his spiritual pursuit of seeking the ONE - who would show him the Ultimate Divine. A series of events catapults Kapil into the fascinating world of Dark Arts and suck him into the quagmire of drama, suspense, greed and betrayal. And just when the trials and tribulations seem to engulf Kapil completely, there emerged from the deepest darkness, a Brilliant Light of his True Master. The existence of the paranormal world is as much real and any ordinary person can get caught in that world unless one is careful. We belong to such a period of time wherein innocent seekers are lured into the trap of so-called "Masters" who fool them easily by playing onto their deepest fears and weakness.

Review:
The story was a bit boring at the initial stage but as I proceeded with the story it grabbed my attention and finally I was lost in the fantasy world of spirituality. Every student is dependent on their teachers and blindly trust them. What if the teacher himself turrns out to be the traitor? This book teaches every student a big lesson that never trust anyone blindly. A teachers task is just to guide you but its you who has to decide what is right and wrong for you. The title of the book was very catchy and apt to the story. The cover of the book was not very attractive. It could have been much better. The blurb, story and the presentation was perfect. The story could have been better if too many descriptions could have been shortened at the start. I recommend this book to all those who want to explore the spiritual world.

Quote from the Book I Liked - Anger, harsh words and criticism damage your Aura, your Energy Feild... it causes holes to appear in your energy field and leaves you vulnerable. Not only do you lose positive energy from those cracks and holes but you also allow negativity to enter. So practice Sanyam. (Page 33, Para 4)

Stars - 3.5/5

Synopsis - A series of events catapults Kapil into the fascinating world of Dark Arts and suck him into the quagmire of drama, suspense, greed and betrayal. And just when the trials and tribulations seem to engulf Kapil completely, there emerged from the deepest darkness, a Brilliant Light of his True Master.

About The Book - The book is one of a kind book. Most of it is what I feel like reading a Biography of a Person (The Author) on his Spiritual Journey. The Problems he faces while finding a True Master throughout his journey and how by Devoting Completely to His Masters he Founds them to be Fraud and Later in his Spirit form, he Discovers his true Master. The book tells us many Tales and Rituals and how Aghori and Tantric Works.

At many places I found the Book to be a Lethargic Read but otherwise, this book takes us to the world and stories one won't believe unless Witnessed. Is eagerly waiting for the Second Book to be Released which will contain how He (The Author) will Protect himself from his previous Masters and how he'll proceed on with his Spiritual Journey.

It's true that finding a True Master is Difficult mainly due to The Fraud Master taking Advantage of the Victim's Problems. It's not easy to believe in one's holiness and power now, as it seems that the Guru-Shishya Practice is only based on Commercial aspect rather than that of True Enlightenment. Those are blessed who have found their Real Masters who are helping them in their Spiritual Journey for Oneness with the Almighty.

Verdict - Read to expirience The Dark side of The Spiritualism or to Witness the Journey to Find a Spiritual Master to continue on One's Spiritual Journey.

What is the book all about?
There are individuals in this world who live a normal life, dream, achieve their goals (or fail), learn from their mistakes (or not), and die, leaving behind family, a legacy (or not), and material possessions. And then there are individuals who are searching for meaning in this life - they are not satisfied with material gains, fulfilled dreams, love, and health. They seek deeper meaning, a calling, a source of faith and energy. Reminiscences of a Seeker is about the journey of one such individual who is in search of a master to guide him in his spiritual growth.

In the first few pages of Reminiscences of a Seeker, the reader is taken into the protagonist's home and shown an encounter that spurs off the spiritual adventures that make up the rest of the book. The protagonist's journey spans several years, during which he has run-ins with different spiritual masters, both in the physical and spiritual planes, some leading to good experiences and some not. He gets sucked into the trappings of a powerful Tantric lifestyle, but manages to extract himself from it, only to be lost on his path, looking for guidance yet again. It's a page-turner of a book that leaves you yearning to know what happens next. It reveals many an unknown fact about Tantricism, Aghori practices, spiritual messages and mystical signs, and a lot of other things that most of us have heard of or even experienced (such as telepathic communication, and being visited by dead loved ones in dreams - why it happens, and what it signifies or how it helps you).

Whom is this book for?
It certainly isn't for the hardcore cynic or atheist, because you need a certain amount of belief in the supernatural or at least a healthy curiosity for it to enjoy reading this book. It's a breezy read, very personal yet not over-descriptive or sappy. It's a true story, which makes it believable, with all its flaws and pitfalls.

The Good and the Bad
The book is a simple read, written like a constant stream of thoughts and occurrences as if the author was telling you the story in person. It'll keep you hooked, and even if some things might seem unpalatable or unbelievable, knowing that it's a true story helps keep you going.

It took me a while to get through the first half - it was slow and began in a rather Marquez-esque way, with no context and no background knowledge. It would have been much, much more reader-friendly had it been developed in a chronologically consistent manner and with some context at the beginning. Speaking from an editor's perspective, the book is also in dire need of professional editing and proofreading.

The book does have some moments of rare clarity and depth. Ignoring the relatively juvenile expression, I was often taken aback at the author's honesty about things that I believe very few people know or understand. The author has explored themes like teacher-student trust, boundaries, and the loss and rebuilding of trust and faith which takes people years to learn. Its vivid and faithful portrayal of Aghori and Tantric practices and revelations about the ugly face of the 'baba culture' in contemporary India are admirably courageous.

What did the book leave me with?
Reminiscences of a Seeker left me thinking how every great journey, whether spiritual or material or otherwise, tells you only one thing: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." (Karl Marx knew what he was talking about) We get attracted towards things that are flashy, that shine, that lure us into feeling good and powerful and beautiful. But the feeling doesn't last long, and only when we turn ugly and lose our natural goodness and positive energy that we realise we were running after the wrong things all along. Real meaning and happiness comes from inside. Alas, it takes people entire lifetimes to come to that realisation.

I've read a few autobiographies and experiences of people who have achieved a certain level in their spiritual journey, this book is an exceptional one.. As a seeker, it's really important to get guidance from the right person so that we're not wronged and get trapped in the 'Chakravyuha' of these self claimed masters hungry for nothing but name, fame and lust.
The author shares his experiences in such a manner that the complex nature of tantra, mantra and adhyatma is understood even by those who are very young on this path or probably don't have any idea that such things exist not just in cinema but reality as well.
Reading this book was an excellent experience, and I'm surely waiting for the next one.. Thank you.

The reminiscences of a seeker is one of a kind book . It is an eye opener for all those people , who without knowing the truth, blindly follow the sadhus and yogis. It also cautioned the readers not to fall for the traps created by the wrong preachers because not everyone is lucky to get out from this world of darkness. This book covers all aspects of the spirituality world.

What gave me goosebumps was that the author has experienced this supernatural world in real life. It was really shocking to read most of the incidents and it gave a feel of nothing less than a thrill novel . It is a perfect recipe with ingredients of suspense, betrayal, greed, struggle and depression in correct proportions. The amazingly narration will keep you hooked till end.

The black clouds with the beautiful moon on the cover is very enticing . It perfectly suits the plot as it is also about a world of darkness and light. The phrase ' Dark face of the white world' very aptly describes the story. The crisp blurb is the cherry on the cake.

The editing could have been little better as i found some parts too long . Also too many characters confused me little at some places. But the gripping plot overshadowed the little flaws.

If you are looking for a different read than any normal love story, do pick this amazing book that talks about the reality of today's world . Congratulation to the author for talking us to this totally new world . Great read .

The blurb proclaims this is a true story of the author. It may be true but I read it as fiction.

Amazon review link is https://www.amazon.in/review/R992UVMR...

Story begins with Kapil, the protagonist being visited by a true guru. Then the story moves to flash back. We come to know that Kapil has many siddhis taught by his gurus Trilokenath and afterwards Asuranath. Somehow they turn his enemies and then he has to deal with them. The first part finished at a cliff hanger and there are many unanswered questions.

Many things are told in the book which might interest some readers. Such as:

1. People who have past life relationships are born as twins, mother and child, brothers and sisters, best friends or members of the same soul family.

2. “How can the door of salvation, from where you proceed to the higher realms of consciousness after discarding the limitations of your physical body, be impure?"

3. Yakshinis are invoked as sister, mother, daughter, wife or friend, depending on what one desires to achieve. However, most of the time in these types of sadhana, it is more of a sexual relationship between the practitioner and the Yakshini as the sadhana increases the former’s sexual desires.

4. It spoke about the most auspicious places to begin the practices of an Aghor…. There seemed to be four ways to do the practices- either go to a dense forest which should be full of wild animals, or to a cremation ground, or find a dead body and do all the practices sitting over the body and the last, most gross one was to go to a forest along with a woman, make her sit in front of you naked and do the practices; the disciple also had to be naked…

5. After spending so many years on this path, I had realized that nothing comes free of cost. The name and position one enjoys, all come at a price.

6. I realized that he had trapped me into doing a Yoni puja. There are Tantrics and Aghoris who pray to Goddess in the form of Partner, but I was not one of them. In this kind of ritual, if the girl desires the sadhak would have to sleep with the girl.

7. “Who is not mad? If you look from my viewpoint you will perceive everyone as mad. If you fit in the society’s set of beliefs and live the way others live you are considered normal, but if you don’t fit you are labeled ‘crazy’.

There maybe two views about the book. One of a believer and other one of a rational person. I fall into second category. The stories about tantriks, aghoris like Sex with yoginis, using spirits for evil purposes, doing sadhna with corpses in graveyards/ shamshan ghats, drinking alcohol during sadhna, desecrating corpses of infants etc. may or may not be true. It sure makes an interesting read and the author keeps your interest going. Kapil also brought to fore the true evil face of these aghoris and babas. They are megalomaniacs who cannot listen no and expect everyone to treat them like God. The siddhis (if there is any such thing) are not for wellbeing of humanity but just a tool to get power and money.

The book becomes repetitive at times. A tight editing could have helped. Also sequencing of events is confusing and some things don’t add up. Author need not remind us after introducing every name and place every time, that its name is changed. One disclaimer like this at the beginning would have sufficed:

“This is a true story but names of the characters and places have been changed to maintain anonymity/ to protect their identity”.

I give it 3/ 5 stars.

P.S. On a lighter note: Govt should make a paltan of all these aghoris and post them to border. They will play on the minds of terrorists, enemy soldiers, and their leadership. We will win the war without any bloodshed. ;)

It is no everyday that you decide to read a spiritual, paranormal, mystical thriller that is a true narration, but I am glad I DID. Reminiscences Of A Seeker: Dark Face of the White World (True Story) by Kapil Kumar Bhaskar was not only a good read, but an enlightening one. The flow of the story is captivating and leaves the reader in awe.
Being a personal account, there are sections in the book, which might be a bit boring or stretchy for the reader, but still, it pushes you to move forward in the expectation of something new. It shows us a whole new world through narration, a world which might be unbelievable to many, but after reading the book, one will definitely be forced to ponder.
The world of black magic, aghoris, ghosts, spiritual guru, the Divine Light – everything seems to be real after reading the author’s experiences in the book. I really like how Kapil has illustrated his inner feelings, fears, and emotions through words, which otherwise might have been difficult for the reader to interpret.
I would urge readers to read this book if they want to explore the unknown world through known paths and learn how to seek a True Master in this world. This book comes as an inspiration for many who might be passing through a similar phase in life. Kapil, himself is a spiritual speaker, mentor, and life coach, so this book also about his own views and belief, which are really helpful and motivational. Eagerly waiting for the sequel to know more about his journey, which seems so real and intriguing.

I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway.
Quite an interesting and disturbing book, again one to be taken in small doses. Since it claims to be a true account, the author must certainly have had remarkable experiences in his struggles against the lure of the Dark world. While dark magic and misuse of tantric practices certainly exist, I would have liked it to end on a positive note with the protagonist triumphing against evil. I didn't realise there is supposed to be a sequel to this!

A word about page setting. It would have saved a lot of space (thereby reducing printing costs), if there were no spaces between paragraphs--they are quite unnecessary in print--and the first line indent of each paragraph was reduced to half of what it was.

Nevertheless, this was something strikingly different from what I usually read.

I would like to first of all thank the author for sharing his debut work in exchange for an honest review.

The book is a very interesting journey of the author into the dark work as he goes in search of a spiritual teacher(guru). I completely enjoyed the story-line. This is the first of this kind that I have read - involving black magic, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Though the pace was a little slow at places, on the whole it was a thrilling expedition into a world I had never before ventured into.

The cover is simple and attractive, and given that black happens to be my favorite color - I love it immensely.
