When the ship went under, I acted fast, and I did what I had to...
This STANDALONE novel can be read for FREE with Kindle Unlimited, and contains over-the-top sexiness that may be uncomfortable for some readers!
What are readers saying? "Take a dysfunctional couple, put them on a cruise ship, throw in the worst storm in decades, along with some strangers and a nontraditional Navy Seal trainee to spice things up… and WOW! The characters are quickly forced into a place where self-reflection is no longer an option, and they have to completely reevaluate the paths they have chosen for themselves. I’m not sure how Gabi does it, but she amazes me every single time. She did a magnificent job with fleshing out the characters. All during the first chapter, I felt hostility toward Anthony and almost stopped reading. By the second chapter, I realized that by the subtle way the author presented the characters, I was supposed to feel that way. It was handled perfectly! And when the storm hit, I couldn’t stop reading! And then it just kept getting better and better, and I didn’t want it to end!"
TODD: When the ship went under, I acted fast, and I did what I had to. Now we were stuck in the middle of nowhere, and the worst was yet to come... I’m not sure what brought Ellie storming into my life, but us coming together was no accident. Looking back, I guess I always had a suspicion that there was something fated about those three strange days we spent together, and about the chain reaction afterwards that brought us both square into one another’s lives. From the moment I saw her, I knew that my life was going to change in a big way. I had no idea just how big…

I'm apologizing early on because this will certainly be more rant than review. No spoiler warnings because I'm trying to help those in need lol. In fact having actually completed this I feel like I deserve hazard pay because it was just BAD BAD BAD. On the surface this book is everything I love but holy hell everything about it from the OW/OW man drama to the whiny/conceited characters had me questioning my own sanity for continuing. On that note there is OW/OM drama, in the heroine's case she is engaged. The hero has a fellow Seal trainee (named Charlie smh) whose beyond (borderline stalker) obsessed with him, to the point she drugs him in order to get him into bed. The heroine is on vacation with her beau (but they both seem to hate each-other and have zero chemistry) to work on their relationship and see if taking the next step is right for them. Gag. Her fiance is so self absorbed and judgmental it was hard to take. He is the type of person who can do no wrong but can and will objectify everything about someone even mansplaining why him being abusive is OK. He'll never admit he has a problem but will tirelessly remind you of everything about you that is wrong. One thing that ticked me off so much was the constant (by every character) reminder of the heroine being Plus Size and OLD. Yep she's 25 and they all consider her over the hill, two steps excuse me hops away from her very own wheelchair. Umm what in the ever lovin' hell? What's worse is the age gap between them all is not even five years. But even in the end the hero gazes at the heroine and her "salt and pepper hair"-I couldn't make this sh*t up if I tried. The book is told from the four POV's of those four characters and I hated them all. The two (future couple) spend some time together on the cruise until the night a hurricane hits and they are thrown overboard and find themselves stranded on an island. Only as I assumed Todd the hero and Ellie are not alone. Joining them are a random married couple, Ellie's fiance and Todd's obsessed and literally crazy teammate. The heroine is injured and breaks her foot during the shipwreck. She's clearly more injured than is first assumed with blood poisoning as her leg shows dark veins climbing up her thigh. That did nothing to stop her from getting her fiancee off at the 40% mark as they watched the married couple go at it in the woods. It was so disturbing even skimming much of the book at and after this point cannot purge it from my brain. On a trek through the woods Todd and Charlie find a boat and this crazy B actually tries to bargain with him over the boat. The condition is he has to sleep with her for her to give him the boat so he can try and get Ellie to safety-and he considers it!!!! When I say Charlie is crazy I mean that in the strongest sense. She still tries to justify drugging the hero and even threatens the heroine in the middle of the night by almost shanking her while doling out threats. The unnecessary drama was so tiring I cannot believe this book has such a high rating but of course it only got better worse. Eventually the two are able to leave on this tiny canoe that apparently barely fits two people. Somehow the heroine who is severely ill still finds it in her to masturbate in front of the hero and get this-even jump up and down in the CANOE to get the attention of a yacht. Umm WTF, I'm not a boat connesieur by any means but even I know there is no jumping in a canoe, it's common f*cking sense, not to mention oh yeah she has a broken f*cking foot!. And still it gets better from here because even being rescued and masturbating still doesn't cool their libido and the two get it on on their rescuers yacht and then wait for it..... soon after the heroine loses her foot in the hospital-because that's how badly injured she was. Not once does the hero not visit her in the hospital, in fact there is an eight month separation between them until they have the most ridiculous meet up where they both are studying at college. It was a horribly awkward reconnect and if possible it was like they had even less chemistry than before. But why the separation? Oh because they both felt so much guilt... over her ex fiancee dying from alcohol poisoning. (I won't even touch on that because I'm tired at this point). There was just so much wrong with this book from the very start and if I could go back in time and stop myself from reading it I would not waste my time. I only managed to skim through most of it because it was a BR and its been years since I've DNF'd a book. And to think I've barely touched the surface of how bad it is... Do yourself a favor and skip it!
They lured us in with a hot guy on the cover, thinking that this would be a fun romantic romp, and it wasn't. The previous title, Shipwrecked and Horny is probably more apt given the immature behavior of many of the characters.
In fact, this is the first stranded-on-a-deserted-island book where I thought it wouldn't be bad if they weren't rescued (except for supporting characters Carl and Livvy, who should be nominated for sainthood for putting up with the other characters). From the woman who roofies her friend to get him to sleep with her and later blackmails him for sex and knifes a guy, to the abusive fiance who tries to drink himself to death before destroying their way off the island. Our MCs at least aren't criminally insane.
The writing itself isn't bad... mostly... though 25 isn't old (at least not to anyone who's finished elementary school).

Stunning portrayal of how a tragic event can change a person's total perspective on life, on what is truly important. The storyline is so mesmerizing and intense, I devoured the book in one sitting. Interest and excitement increases with the turn of each page. This reader was attached to Todd, a Navy SEAL-in-training and Ellie, the adventurous spirit tied into a boring relationship. But their interactions with the other couples was enchanting. I definitely want to read this experience again. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.
Holy WOW! I absolutely love Gabi! Her books are always a pleasure to read & this book didn't disappoint. Pulled me in from the title alone but inside the cover is definitely where the story unfolds. Characters are left to their own devices to reflect on their lives & personal relationships as the cruise ship they are on suffers a bad storm & begins to sink! No spoilers from me! Get YOUR COPY NOW & see what fate awaits these characters. I voluntarily read this ARC & this is my honest review
T'was an OK story but the author flunked on technicalities.. The ship wreck happened off the coast of California yet later on in the story she had them afloat in the Atlantic ocean then when Anthony drinks himself to death the Dr. tells Ellie his blood alcohol level was incredibly high, 0.5! My Gawd, in Oregon that's not even legally drunk! Then the real clincher for me, being a retired R.N., was when she had Ellie, after she'd had her foot amputated, walking on her stump in the sand and even hopping onto rocks with it! Obviously this author has never known anyone who was an amputee, they are so careful with that stump to avoid any possible irritation or injury to it that they would never be found walking on it much less jumping around on rocks! So please Gabi, do a little more thorough research before you rush to print and keep it believable unless you're into "alternative facts"! 😕
This book was a bit of an unbelievable adventure that goes through a lot of ups and downs. Hurricanes do not come up so suddenly. That part was unbelievable.
This is a wild, strange and twisted saga of love and attraction. Ellie meets Todd on board their cruise ship. When her fiance, Anthony, won't go to a party with her, she meets up with Todd. And ends up on the island with him. Anthony gets to the same island with Charlie and a couple. Charlie wants Todd any way she can get him, and she is crazy loony. Everyone on the island ends up being very horny for some reason. There's lots of tension, drama and action on the island. It's an captivating and entertaining story with intriguing storylines and unique and interesting characters. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my voluntary and honest opinion of it.

OMG I think this is one of Gabi's best books yet. A believable storyline, amazing characters that grow and learn to follow other paths and accept the blows that get dealt. Is it really a Shipwreck or is it something more??? Truly an amazing read. I can't saying anything about the book because I'll just want to tell the whole story. I recieved an ARC copy and voluntarily reviewed this book

Another wonderful story from Gabi Moore. Every story she writes is so different from the previous once. And this one is no exception. This story is again so unique and with richly described characters with a well thought out story line with characters to love and some to hate. Full marks for this one.

Anthony and Ellie were getting packed for a cruise, a relaxing way to prepare for their upcoming wedding. Ellie wanted to go to a salsa dance lesson; Anthony was tired and didn’t, but he guessed it may keep her occupied so she wouldn’t want to do anything else he didn’t want to do. Part of the deal for the vacation was that Ellie had to quit smoking for the two-week cruise. He would deal with all of her many other bad habits later. He seemed to be critical of almost everything she did. He decided their luxury room was tacky. And he didn’t want to go dancing now anyway. So Ellie walked out to go dancing by herself. She was beginning to finally understand that maybe he was a controlling bully. And the past few years had required quite a bit of work to try to enjoy his company!
In defiance, Ellie lit up her last cigarette out on deck, but someone bumped into her and it flew over the railing. A tall young man with gorgeous blue eyes looked over the rail and apologized. He seemed a bit tipsy. He offered to go get her another cigarette if she watched his ice bucket. He told her he was a Navy SEAL in training and his buddies and he were having some fun on the way to California for final training. She was laughing happily with Todd by the time he turned to leave her. When he saw her again the next day by the pool, he invited her to join him that evening, but she told him she was there with her boyfriend.
Charlie, the only female SEAL in training, wanted Todd who was not paying her any attention. She was prepared for this and had slipped something into his beer. Then Ellie unexpectedly arrived before Charlie could lead Todd away. An announcement came over the speakers that severe weather was approaching and everyone needed to go to their rooms. Charlie tried again to get to Todd, but the crowd was pushing to exit the bar and she could not reach him.
Todd took Ellie by the hand and urged her to come with him since her room was farther away. A crew member shoved them into a storage room to keep them safe, but in the worsening storm, the metal above began to crack and water came in. Todd got them in life jackets. Fighting the effects of the drug Charlie had slipped in his drink, he told Ellie they had to move to another spot on the ship. The waves were tossing them all over the desk, but the life jackets kept them above the water. And the ship began to sink! With both of them now unconscious, would they have any chance to survive? And if they do, is something worse in store for them?
The author did a magnificent job with fleshing out the characters. All during the first chapter, I felt hostility toward Anthony and almost stopped reading. By Chapter 2, I realized that by the subtle way the author presented the characters, I supposed to feel that way! It was handled perfectly! Each character was so well described that the reader knew them! And when the storm hit, I couldn’t stop reading! I had to see what was going to happen. I really loved reading this book and highly recommend it. It kept getting better and better and I didn’t want it to end!
It's a bit difficult to review this book thoroughly without giving some spoilers, but I'm going to give it a shot. Anthony and Ellie are recently engaged, so they chose to go on a cruise as a last "hurrah". Within just a few pages I could feel a vibe that Ellie and Anthony, well, they aren't really happy together. The POV switches between them, so there's a good balance and explanation for why they are each frustrated with the other.
But wait a second. Now we're getting a POV from Todd, a younger man Ellie just met on the deck. At this point, I'm not sure where the story is going or who I should root for. Then Charlie comes along, and now we're getting chapters in her POV, too. Whaaaaattt?! I couldn't stop reading, I had to know why it was so important we get the perspectives of four different characters and soon enough, I understood the significance. And I was really happy when it finally clicked: this isn't your run-of-the-mill predictable push-and-pull romance. And I loooooove that. S&H is incredibly exciting and unique, and it flew well beyond my expectations.
Unfortunately, as much as I loved the story, I do have one complaint: the title. The story is really special and I feel like "Shipwrecked and Horny" just cheapens the experience. Not because horny's an offensive word or anything, but because it gives the impression that what you should expect is a dirty, erotic story, but in the end, you end up getting so much more. Toss-away title or not, I highly recommend the book.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
You'd think from the title that you might be reading a light hearted romantic comedy--this book couldn't be farther from that! It's dark and gut wrenching, with the characters fighting for their lives after their cruise ship is hit by a hurricane and flings passengers every which way.
The storyline isn't as smoothly presented as we've come to expect, but the survivors in the story are richly developed then torn asunder by being shipwrecked on an island with literally nothing but their lives! This is an emotional roll coaster that just won't stop...(I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and literally felt emotionally drained by the time we got to the ending!)
Shipwrecked and Horny by Gabi Moore ***** Very good! This book got interesting quickly. The pace was good, the action and heat index on the high side. Some soul searching and an awakening that life is precious and should never be taken for granted. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Disclosure: I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this book.
Ellie is on a cruise with her fiance Anthony. There relationship isn't working as it should be and this is a second try to make it better. On the ship Ellie meets the navy seals Todd. But there is a storm and the ship goes under. Six people makes it to an island but will the make it out alive. It was a very exiting book and I read it with out any breaks. It had it all love hate anger romance and I loved it
This is a story from 4 diferent POV's and at first it was strange to me but after reading it made total sense! Ellie is young girl who is engeged to older guy Anthony - he is so stiff and also i didn't like him at all! Todd is a SEAL in training that will give you great pleasure in reading his relation with Ellie! But it will go easy? Can they get together on island they got with other suviviors!
I have read quite a few books by this author and have loved them all, but I think this is my favorite so far. It was action packed with drama, romance, and an emotional rollercoaster. I loved the multiple POVs. They really added to the story to help me feel a connection to more of the characters, not just one main couple. I would definitely recommend this one. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
I got this as an ARC for my honest opinion and review. The more I read in this series the more I come to love it. Ellie and Anthony are on a cruise, but the only way they could go was if Ellie quit smoking. Ellie goes to a dance class but stops on the desk to have the last cig. Only for a drunk guy to bump into her and it fall over the railing. He offers to get her another one. They keep meeting up. Todd is a navy seal in training. There is a female in his training group and she wants Todd. Ellie has to keep telling him that she is there with her boyfriend. Will that stop what is happening between them? And what about the female seal as well?
If you are looking for a book that is a little different, where all the characters are slightly flawed, but the writing is orginal and the storyline a little dark and thought provoking, then this is a book you have to read. Ellie and Anthony set off on a two week cruise to try and sort out their feelings before their upcoming wedding. He is controlling and she just wants to have fun. On a solo trip wandering around the boat she bumps into Navy SEAL in training Todd. The next time these two meet, the ship has gone into meltdown mode and is sinking. Ellie is injured in the shipwreck and awakens to find herself stranded on an island with her fiance, Todd and a few other passengers. How will they survive? Will help arrive before it's too late? No spoilers, but this definitely did not go where I expected it too, which I love in a great strory.
A good new read from Gabi Moore. When Anthony and Ellie board a ship set on a relaxing trip, hoping to reset their relationship neither could have predicted the twists and turns headed their way. Todd and Charlie are SEAL trainees also on the cruise who factor in to this story as well. Todd and Ellie find a connection that shouldn't be yet neither can deny. When the ship goes down they all find themselves on an island and what happens will have lasting consequences and benefits. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I had mixed feelings about this book but in the end I couldn't not give it any less than 5 stars after I started and finished this book by Gabi Moore. There was suspense, danger, lust/love, heartache, a psycho woman (Charlie) who would do anything to get her obsession to notice her, a hot man training to be a Navy Seal (Todd), a woman who was stuck in a relationship and not happy (Ellie), a man who doesn't appreciate the woman he has (Anthony), and a couple who love each other and appreciate each other. All six of these people are survivors after their luxury cruise sinks during a storm and are stranded on an island. The stories are told from 4 different PO's, Ellie, Todd, Anthony & Charlie's and what a story it is about how an obsession almost turns deadly, how a Seal tries to fight his feelings for a woman who is a engaged and ward off advances from the woman who is obsessed with him, a woman who realizes that she is attracted to another man and doesn't want to be with her fiancée anymore and a man who treats his fiancée like property and finally realizes that he lost her to someone else. A great great story of survival, living with your choices, and learning to live and start over again after the tragedy. I had tears in my eyes at the end when they returned to the island.....highly recommended.
A soul-searching adventure, while lost at sea, April 11, 2017
I received an Advance Reader Copy for Shipwrecked And Horny written by Gabi Moore and voluntarily reviewed this book. This title certainly doesn't get lost in a sea of daddies and billionaires and MCs! We all have been asked the question: "What would you do if you were stranded on a desert island...," except you don't REALLY know what you would do until it actually happens to you, wouldn't you?
This experience described the characters pared down to their true selves and true hearts when they were shipwrecked together off a cruise during a sudden hurricane. Ellie and Todd were each poised at a point in their lives where they were expected to go through a major life/career experience, when they met each other on board and just couldn't help but entertain other notions in their heads for the other. Unfortunately, those closest to them didn't like this obvious attraction and acted upon it.
Another great story, with the main characters not as cemented in their development as yet, allowing the author to shape them further using this shipwrecking experience.
*** SPOILER ALERT: ***
I would have liked to know of Todd's reaction to Ellie's limb, upon seeing her for the first time on campus, just to round out their character meshing.
Wow, this was an intense read. Im voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book. Anthony and Ellie's engagement was surprising seeing as how they barely got along well. The way Tony and Ellie met was cute, and the chemistry between them was undeniable, but I give them both props on how they ignored it since she was engaged. Charlie scared me from the beginning, but how rapidly she went downhill on the island was crazy. Anthony being a bigger idiot than I assumed was a bit of a surprise, but the dumba** ended up being worse than Charlie in a way, and that was bad. I just couldn't believe that Ellie was abandoned at the hospital, sure Carl and Izzy had to go home and Tony and Charlie had their SEAL training to go to, but for her not to even get to say goodbye was rough, especially after what happened to her. At least she was able to move on, and she did get her HEA, so did Tony.
This was more a solid 3.5 star This was a good read, however I felt it lacked a lot of the aggression and sexuality that Gabi's books usually have that gets the heart pumping. It was still a good read with a good pace and I enjoyed the character, there were some good twists and the book finished well as you felt it wrapped things up really well and didn't leave you with unanswered questions.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book to provide an honest review.
Very impressive book. Absolutely loved it. The characters were awesome. Ms. Moore introduced us to were believable. She slowly revealed bits and pieces throughout the book to the point we knew them well.....maybe. Definitely not your typical happily ever after book. Not even close. Have to say I was captivated from the first chapter. Great read.
The bad boy bonus stories are better than the shipwreck
I found the shipwreck story frustrating as the premise was so implausible, as hurricanes dont suddenly appear and gps and modern search procedures wouldnt miss six people on an island for three days, that they were able to get to from the sinking ship by paddling a rubber boat with their hands. Apart from the gaping ligistical holes, there was plenty of sexual tension in the island, emough to keep me curious.
The best part was the other stories in this boxed set. The characters are all different from each other and have plenty of sexual tension and unexpected plot twists. One has a reporter and a billionaire, another has a university student and her teacher, another is about a couple who are struggling to fall pregnant. There are more bonus stories that cant be easily summed up in a line or two.
I can alway count on Gabi Moore's gripping stories and rich characters to grab hold and not let go. This one is no different in that aspect. The story is a bit different than what I've come to expect from this author, but true to form, I was riveted and couldn't put it down. Gabi's stories always make a reader feel things, and this one made me feel just about everything! Just when I thought I was sure of how I felt about a character, that character does something to completely redeem themselves. I loved the multiple POVs in this one and how they all thought and interacted on the island. And that ending! It was absolutely perfect!
