Love doesn’t matter. Romance doesn’t exist.

In the year 2060, sex is a game of extremes. No desire is unexplored and even the unimaginable is possible.

Alexa Mathis, head of the monolithic O Corporation, has found a prodigy she believes will drive her sex empire to rapturous new limits: Chloe Shaw, a common girl with uncanny gifts that make her a powerful escort.

Kindle freebie (at least today 8/14/15), Amazon US.

For an erotica freebie, this one was pretty good. It's only a novella and ends a little abruptly but the story about a futuristic society and a sex worker trying out for a better position was kind of interesting. Weird that she was so perfect at everything but maybe that's explained somewhere in the future . . . I don't like reading this "part 1" installment type nonsense, finish your book already and release it when it's done, I'm too lazy to

Now this was interesting...
I admit I was thinking it would be filled with trashy porn. Nope. It was tasteful and yet still had you feeling like if you got caught reading it, you would blush and try to hide it. I might look into reading the next book.

We’ll start with the most important piece of information pertaining to my review of this: The Future of Sex does not reflect my usual kind of read. In fact, this book couldn’t be any more distant from my kind of read if I had tried.

So why did I read it?

I was trying to branch out. I’m always trying to branch out. In all honesty, I’ve always been unsure about erotica books. A part of me is a massive prude screaming ‘stay away from the dirty’ whilst another part of me is some kind of maniac telling

New to me author, Lexi Maxwell hooks me in and I'm jonsing for another hit. This story appears to be a serial format which I loathe. Still, I loved this portion and it kind of blew my mind. First off, I liked the world created here. It's futuristic, capitalistic and hedonistic. I particular enjoy the cyberpunk flavour. Second, Chloe Shaw is a character who is deceiving at first sight. Both the reader and characters in the book will discount her and that is our mistake.

The character development

It would be a confusing mistake to experience sex and love together at first — akin to mixing flour and sugar into something she couldn’t separate later. She had to experience sex fresh, without emotional entanglement, so she’d recognize it in its pure state. Chloe had to know sex and love separately, before she could blend them.

Sometimes, we all need a good old piece of erotica to read. After my delicious run-in with The Red, I decided now was the time to experience

The Future of Sex by Lexi Maxxwell is a science fiction erotic novel that pits technology and human emotion against the price for pleasure in the world to come.

The advancement of AI has overtaken this futuristic world and sex has become a virtual video game experience, a place where no pleasure or pain is off limits. It is 2063 and what remains of the civilized world exists only in the North American Union, walled off, and run by a network known as the Crossbrace. The Crossbrace is being

I expected this book to be pure porn, but it's not. There's graphic sex scenes in it, of course, but it's not just porn. Most of the book is a technological marvel of the future. Newfangled sex toys, with nanobots. Virtual Reality sex. And an exclusive sex club that hires only the best and brightest whores.

The story is about Chloe Shaw, an inexperienced sex worker who is applying to the prestigious O club. They only allowed her to apply because her mother had been an excellent sex worker for

Sci-fi kink with pretty decent writing and cool technological elements (mostly if you're into sex toys).

Originally reviewed on my blog: Books, Coffee, Tea

I’ve seen Lexi Maxxwell’s name a lot since I started reading erotica a few years ago, but I don’t think I’ve ever read one of her books before this one. I came across The Future of Sex while browsing the “Read Now” section on NetGalley a few weeks ago and thought the cover was interesting, so I read the description.

Dystopian-esque setting? Cool. Erotica? Great. Dystopian erotica set in a world in which people are using things like hologram porn

The description for this book clearly states it's a cross between science fiction and erotica, but I was expecting a longer book, for one, and more exploration of the corporation-owned alternate future, where money, desire, and technology have collaborated to create possibilities for control of people's lives, for two. The unpleasant nature of such a political climate appealed to me as a reader, and I wondered how something like that might affect people's lives, and how people might fight back ...more

Chloe Snow wants to become an elite spa worker, although everything is against her. She’s young and relatively inexperienced, yet she shows enough charm and natural beauty to get an initial interview and an audition. Her results astound the board, yet they’re not convinced and ask more of her.

This story is a blend of erotica and sci-fi and combines an interesting, very original story plus some intriguing world building to start off this serial. The sex scenes are very well done, and the state of

Really can't give this more than two stars because of how short it is. It's an interesting concept, but I personally think it's a bit sexist, even though Chloe is technically the one with the power. Mainly it's just kind of uncomfortable to read, and I was sure it was written by a man considering the protag is basically male fantasy wish fulfillment. But apparently not? So yeah, you do you Lexi.

It's not even that I don't appreciate erotica, it's that the descriptions were just a tad too much,

I am not a regular reader of fantasy or futuristic romance. And that might explain part of my rating, as I had absolutely no clue which book the environment was inspired from. But the thing is I didn't really understand how it worked, even if there were lengthy explanations that kept from deterring the main plot to progress. And I also couldn't care less about any of the characters and what happened to them as none seemed remotely humane, nor having feelings.
Therefore even what was intended to

I've only read the first instalment and I have to admit I've been thinking about Chloe since I put it down which is odd because generally erotica doesn't "stick" with me even though I enjoy it.

Yes the sex is hot BUT its the characters you root for and it ended up being a story with sex as opposed to just random sex.

Well written and I'll definitely be returning.

Oh, I didn't know anything about The Beam world even though I do listen to the SPP. So that shouldn't hinder you. This story stands well

I'm giving this three-stars only because it does not feel like a complete story. I went in knowing this was a novella but I was hoping for a narrative that felt fully formed rather than a first act cliff hanger that led to the next book in the series.

That said, I was shocked how much I enjoyed the story. This was my first erotic novel. I only read it because of the guys on the Self Publishing Podcast.

It's a meld between erotic and Sci-Fi. Usually in Sci-Fi stories sexbots and sex workers are

*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book.* Aubrey Parker, you've sucked me in again! I was pleasantly surprised by The Future of Sex. In fact, I can not believe how much I enjoyed it. Sci-Fi Romance is not my thing.....or so I thought; however, Aubrey Parker has made me a believer. After reading and loving the Trillionaire Boys' Club series (although you do not have to read it before you read this one), I was happy to see some familiar characters carry over into this story. I instantly ...more

This book is a great start of Aubrey’s newest series. It’s short and it was over before I wanted it, but I’m definitely intrigued enough to want to continue. I need the next part now after the way it ended. I need to know what’s so special about Chloe.

Chloe wants a new job and applies for a job at the club O. Chloe really wants the job and wants prove that she can do it, because it’s a special club. Chloe is young and the club management doesn’t want her, but Chloe is determined.

First of all, I loved Future of Sex. It was a delicious piece of erotica. There isn't much unique in this arena lately (except *coughVioletta Randcough*); it's like sifting through a mile-high pile of chaff for that bit of wheat, but Parker is proof that it's there. The concept of an exclusive futuristic sex spa may not be new, I don't know, but if so this author has lifted it to another plane. The writing is professional and polished, there's a great plot that we can see going somewhere that we ...more

Wow! This was an interesting book! Definitely a little different from what I'm used to reading from Aubrey Parker! But it was a very good different! Having a spin of a future being all about how sex has integrated into something a lot bigger than what it is now is actually pretty interesting! Especially in today's age as sex is a number one seller amongst anything and everything we do now. This focuses on Chloe who is pretty much an inexperienced young woman when it comes to sex. When she ...more

Recommends it for: Sci Fi Erotic Series
5 STARS

Author Aubrey Parker is back and this sci-fi erotic series is just the beginning. This book is fun, witty erotic and filled with so many familiar faces from his earlier books.

Chloe is a simple girl living in 2060 where enhancements are abundant, sex rules have changed and anything goes. She is simple but holds something extremely powerful that Alexa wants and needs to make her company O top in its game.

The writing is top notch and the plot is out of this world and these characters are

I gather from reading some of the reviews that this was released a while ago under a different name. Aubrey Parker has obviously decided to expand the original story into 12 serials which he'll be releasing at 2 week intervals I think? It was hard for me to rate this as it's part of a bigger story and not much has been revealed thus far and the problem with serials are the cliff hangers and also that each installment is 1.99 so in the end I'm paying almost 24 bucks for a complete ebook. Seems short for a series starter but it does have a lot of good things in it. It's really an attention getter and you would want the next book right now to know what the future of sex is all about. But, alas, we need to wait and with a good, promising book just like this one, I can already tell that this one will not disappoint the readers.

The future is upon us so why not start with a futuristic story that is concentrated on AI and all manners of sex. Looking forward

I have zero words for the awesomeness that I just read!
Like legit I can't wait for more.
I don't even know where to start with Chloe...like what is real role in all this...how will finding her "talents" help the progression of the O Corporation.
I have more questions, but I know the next book will be just as awesome!

Mr Parker just blew me away! Perfect immersion of steamy and hot with mind blowing ideas of the future. He has managed to tie in many of his characters from different series to add in an extra layer of depth to the story but one that isn't necessary to enjoy it. It left me with an enlightened feeling, the kind you get after watching an entire movie only to have it twist in the last five minutes. Cannot wait for the next installment!

Read out of curiosity; it was referenced in Write. Publish. Repeat. Not bad, but the world seemed super complex and needed a little more development for me, but then, I don't read a lot of sci fi anyway, so I may just not be familiar enough with the genre to pick up on the nuances of world-building.

I wish it was a little longer and had more backstory but I suppose the more intrigued you are the more likley to buy the next few books. I did like, I expected to almost be PWP but it's really good and the sex isn't cringy but actually a decent read. Will be reading the next as well.

I love to write stories with characters that feel real enough to friend on Facebook, or slap across the face. I write to make you feel, think, and burn with the thrill that can only come from getting lost in the pages. I love to write unforgettable characters who wrestle with life's largest problems. My books may always end with a Happily Ever After, but there will always be drama on the way ...more
