It was good, but the House of M interval makes very little sense in the story.

Again, like most Thunderbolts collections, I enjoyed this despite it's glaring flaws. There is something about the Thunderbolts, the idea of flawed people trying for redemption and mostly failing that is infinity attractive to me. And beyond that Songbird just a really awesome character and I feel that she has such charisma on the page that she manages to drive the story even when she's mostly in the background.

By in far the best part of the book was the story surrounding the Atlanteans and Radi
I love the Thunderbolts but this was a hard trudge. Songbird keeps it going because she's an awesome character. The rest of the 'bolts are pretty boring here. Even Chen Lu who is usually one of my favorites.

This gets the series going. Atlantis attacks dry land, and the team get a new member to help deal with them. There's lots of nice character stuff where the new members have to decide whether they are really heroes. A good read.

The Purple Man has to be one of the worst characters in the Marvel Universe, and I find he stops stories cold, as he does in this case. There are some interesting ideas here, but this collection never really gels as well as it could.
