This is the second book in The Feud series, and it is fantastic! Filled with action, well-developed characters, and a complex and fascinating plot, The Flames is a heart-pounding thrill ride. Now outside the walls of Altryon, Neil, Lily, Darius, and Rhys must work together to defeat the emperor, who has ruthlessly taken over the land. I loved seeing these teens from feuding families put past hostilities aside and slowly become friends.

A rebellion has started outside the walls, and Neil, Lilly, D

Protagonists: After being nearly hunted to extinction the last of the Lightborns from the city of Altryon have escaped into the outside world, a world they were once taught was a wasteland filled with savages, but is, in fact, full of thriving civilizations. With their hurt still fresh they aren't ready to fight back against the Empire, but sometimes the fight will come to you whether you want it or not. While Neil is arguably the main character of this book, and of this series, I really

4.5 Stars! =D

First of all, I'm going to say how I love the plot in this book. I dare say that it played out even better than the first book. The stakes are raised and the author didn't shy away from adding in gut wrenching twists that made me scared for the characters but so excited to finish the story.

The biggest thing I loved is how the characters grew. Not only were they learning how to get along with one another but they also

An amazing second book. Neil ‘s hopes of staying alive aren’t easy. He has to have an alliance with past enemies as well. Enough action to keep you reading.

I am in awe of Kyle Prue’s talent to enrapture you in a story filled with lessons, journeys and foreshadowing that keeps you wanting more. He has created a action packed sophomore book that doesn’t disappoint.

Here we see the individual journey’s each Lightborn is to go on and begin. For Lily she learns honor in a different way, Neil I love his journey and his newfound humility. His sacrifices are incredible. He to me is still the key but not just for the people but his brother. I have a feeling

June 28th, 2017; DISCLAIMER: I received a review copy of this book for honest review, and as part of a blog tour.

I thought the last book was good. This book just raised the bar for this trilogy. Kyle Prue has excelled my expectations in what a great book can/should be. I am extremely curious to know what happens next. I was left with a few questions that I hope are answered in the conclusion. Can't wait!

Note: It’s best to experience Book 1 before diving into this book.

I really enjoyed Book 1 and Book 2 doesn’t disappoint. In fact, I may have enjoyed this book a bit more. The teens from Book 1 are in the wind for the most part. Some are in hiding, some are still dealing with evil characters, and some question whether they should join the rebellion. This tale reminded me a little of The Hunger Games (teens rebellion against the ruling government), Game of Thrones (scions of the ruling houses duki

This is book 2 in the Epic Feud trilogy. Book 1 is called The Sparks and gives you the start of the story, with the younger generation of the various Lightborn families trying to find their places in their families and the world about them. Book 2 carries on the story with our main character Neil Vapros, who wants to follow his father’s legacy by becoming an assassin, not an information gathering socialite! In the first book he was given his first assassin job and failed spectacularly.

The publisher’s blurb promises that Kyle Prue’s The Flames: Book 2 of the Feud Trilogy is made for those who enjoy “rich fantasy settings, imaginative supernatural abilities, and tough-as-nails characters”. That was certainly one of my “take-aways” from book 1 and this series and I’m happy to report that it remains true in this book 2. The lead here, Neil Vapros, is a perfectly crafted character. Good thing too as he had a truly horrendous path to face with his at best questionable allies and po ...more

So good! I’ve been wanting to read this series for a while, and I was excited to have the chance to listen to them on audio! This series! I went in with high expectations, but not only does this book deliver, it blew my expectations out of the water! The plot, the characters, the story, this book has it all, plus loads of action and foreshadowing!

Jon Eric Preston does a brilliant job bringing this story to life, and made the emotions and characters come to life! I loved listening to this story,

Kyle Prue, The Flames author, has taken this storyline and characters to a level above the Sparks, Book 1, which was excellently done. I loved this book and am anxiously waiting for Book 3, the last of the Trilogy. Again, another exceptionally well-written story with excellent character development. It is a real page-turner with lots of action and one you do not want to put down. Don't miss this series. Received a copy from Hidden Gems and this is my voluntary and honest review. ...more

The Doctor and his Pack were completely horrifying. I can't imagine the horror that the Doctor experienced to turn him from someone like Rhys to who he became. And to willingly inflict that same horror on everyone whom he came into contact.

I wonder what it means that the Man in the Golden Light is communicating with the Lighbringers in Voltaria...

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I dived straight into this book after finishing book 1 The Sparks.
It is so good!! The characters have grown so much from book 1 and I love the multiple character POVs!
The storyline has also grown and developed with twists and turns, secrets, friendship and sacrifice to name a few. Cannot wait to see how the author brings everything together in the final book.

Page turner. Fast read. Couldn't put it down.

Loved it. Thanks for staying true to the characters and creating a believable growth in maturity ..

I'm still not sure which character I love the most.

For original review:

A 3.5* review.

I remember really, really enjoying the first book in this series and was actually trying to find the second book to pick up (none of my libraries carried it) when I saw that the second book was also going to be available for an audiobook blog tour so I snapped it up. Honestly, I think I enjoyed the first book a lot more. This one was also good but somehow I just didn’t find myself as engaged as I was in the previous novel
