Not all monsters are the frightening creatures we were warned about as children. Most are just trying to get by in a world where it’s becoming increasingly harder for them to stay hidden.
Some are ready to reveal it all.
Some want to turn their back on those around them.
And some are trying to find the connections all beings crave.
It’s time to meet the Forgotten Monsters – The Wisp, the Kraken, the Nightmare, and the Siren. Their time has come…
Forgotten Monsters: The Lost and Found Collection includes: Wisp Deep Dream Echo
The Forgotten Monsters series is a sexy romp through insta-love, insta-attraction, insta-sexy times, and insta-bombshells. These monsters aren't afraid to get down and dirty and they're eager for you to join them!
Kelly Apple is a hardcore paranormal junkie with the bad habit of falling for damaged heroes. Finding (and writing) characters who make her heart break is one of her goals in life. She has a boy who can drink his weight in Mountain Dew and always tries to get her to play video games with him. She politely declines on account of all the voices in her head who are impatiently waiting for their stories to be told. Oddly, her two dogs have never tried to talk her into playing video games. They just expect belly rubs.
Kelly lives in sunny Northern California and she’s baffled by snow. Her flip-flop tan is something many dream about but few can achieve.
-Wisp- Burn: 🔥 Ending: HEA POV: dual Cute story of a witch and her wisp. Kait ends up on Will's front porch and fate takes it from there. Being a short story, their relationship is, of course, accelerated. But the character development in the short time frame was pretty decent, especially for erotica.
-Deep- Burn: 🔥🔥 Ending: HFN POV: dual Mikka and Lars have an interesting story. You don't get many monster romances where the male is the human and the female the monster. Mikka is a kraken and is lonely. Lars has heard her song and is drawn to find her. They have, unsurprisingly, explosive chemistry. Again, the jump into intimacy is quick, but, short story. Character development for Mikka was decent, Lars a bit lacking.
-Dream- Burn:🔥🔥 Ending: HEA POV: dual Garnet has been erotically dreaming about the boy at the coffee shop for months. Turns out Cris is a Nightmare and has been using her dreams as a training ground for his ability. When Garnet finally approaches him, Cris is sure he's seen her before. It takes a bit for them to come together, but I like the author showing how women, especially, tend to have a warped view of themselves. The instalove that happens when Cris didn't even like her at first was a bit much for me, but the premise was super interesting.
-Echo- Burn:🔥 Ending: HEA POV: dual Thane and Zoe live in either side of a duplex. Thane is a Siren in search of his mate. Zoe is a woman with some broken bits inside from a rough past who loves to rescue dogs, to the point of neglecting her own needs. A storm brings the two together with Thane in nothing but a towel and he finally really looks at Zoe. There were more typographical errors in this story than the others, but I liked it so much that I still went looking for more by the author.
Overall, I liked this set of short story monster eroticas. The fall into instalove or instalust wasn't always believable, and the typographical errors towards the end were a bit distracting. But the monsters were so unique. A Will o' the Wisp, a Kraken, a Nightmare, and a Siren. Having a female monster, in the Kraken, was interesting, as monster romance or erotica is rarely written this way. Overall, while I didn't love this collection (and I am often not a huge fan of anthologies or short story collections), I liked this author's writing plenty well enough to go searching for more of her work. I wanted to know if she continued any of the stories into a full length novel, but that does not seem to be the case. Either way, I recommend her writing and this set is a nice introduction to her monster world and her good character building.
This is a very sweet collection of short steamy romances. i wouldn’t put any of the stories on their own in the category of erotica, but as an anthology that is where the book lands. Each story is insta-love/lust, with characters you like, and discoveries/awakenings that fit the bill of novelette-length romance. Recommend pulling this one out when you’ve got a short wait between activities.
Now this was an excellent set of paranormal short stories. I was very pleased with each one and it is hard to say which one was my favorite. I need to research this author to see what else she’s to offer. Each story has very interesting characters and ends with a HEA. I would love to see each one become a full length book and I’m so glad I downloaded this one.
A fun, steamy book about the monsters/paranormals not often written about. I really liked that these not often written about sups got their stories. I really enjoyed the author's writing style and that none of the stories was predictable (other than a happy ending!) I will for sure be looking to read more books by this author.
Loved these so much I wish they were longer so I could get more of each couples HEA. I’m enamored with supernaturals. Then add a love story and you’ve got me along for the ride.
I liked the idea of this book. Kait and Will had good chemistry and the spice was good, but I didn't really vibe with the ending, which kind of put me off the rest of the novellas in the collection.
If you enjoy reading paranormal romance/erotica, then this collection is the way to go. I enjoyed reading all 4 stories with Dream being my favorite of the 4 stories.
