When ratings for her popular DIY show start to circle the drain after the sudden death of her sister, Charlotte “Charlie” Conti has only one mission—to plan a comeback. But her sister had other plans. As part of the will, Charlie must work with *him* to create a memorial camping scholarship in her sister’s memory. The same *him* Charlie fell in love with three years ago while working at a summer camp.
The same *him* she dumped, to protect his heart.
Sexy Brit Nate Walsh has sixty days to find a new job or he’ll be deported back to England where his family has disowned him. He doesn’t have time to work on a memorial scholarship with *her*. The same *her* who shattered his heart without explanation or warning.
The same *her* he’s never gotten over.
But, despite their hesitation, Charlie and Nate realize this scholarship could revive their sinking careers. When their stubborn competitiveness brings everything to a halt, Charlie and Nate agree to a compromise: a winner-takes-all fundraiser back at Camp Pine Haven. But as old feelings resurface, so do fears of repeating past mistakes. With their future on the line, only one can be named the winner, and Nate and Charlie must decide what’s more important: their careers—or each other.
KD Proctor loved college so much that when it came time to graduate, she didn’t want to leave. Finding her niche in graduate school, she traded her textbooks for student handbooks and began a career in College Student Personnel, fulfilling her wish to stay on a college campus forever. When she took a stab at writing her first novel, her mother rejoiced--she finally had a reason to use that undergraduate degree in English!
KD is a multi-award winning author who lives in west-central Minnesota with her husband and fur-kids. She likes to write fun twists on the usual tropes that we all love. Her characters are smart, funny, and always swoony. And yes. They always get their happily ever after.
Nate and Charlie once met each other and fell in love. They were a beautiful couple and everybody thought that they would be together forever, but one day Charlie breaks up with Nate. Nate is devastated and doesn’t understand why it happened.
A few years later, Charlie’s sister Gwen dies and she has a special request for Charlie and Nate in her will. They have to work together at the camp they have been going to since they were little kids. When they do that, they get money meant to support kids that go to the camp. They’ll organize an event to raise money for the camp, but they decide to make it a competition. Who raises the most money, will manage the money from Gwen’s will. Both of them have a reason to want to win.
Charlie and Nate are great characters! Charlie is talented, passionate, sweet and loving. She loves to make things and she even has her own TV show, but she hasn’t had many inspiration lately and she risks losing her job. She just needs to some time away from everything after losing her sister. Charlie has always regretted dumping Nate and she has missed him, but she pushes him away again for the same reason as she broke up with him.
Nate is passionate, charming, caring and British. He has tried to forget Charlie, but never really succeed. She’ll always be the one for him. Nate isn’t too happy about working with Charlie, but he wants to find out why she dumped him all those years ago. Nate and Charlie have a great chemistry and connection. I only didn’t like it that they played games with each other for so long. I get that Nate is still a little hurt, but it’s really important for him that he wins. Charlie isn’t a mean person, so she would have done something different if she knew everything.

There was so much to adore and love when it came to MMUTS. A hero you can instantly fall for, a heroine who can make you laugh with the drop of a line, a story like that was fresh in the world of overdone tropes, keeping me sated until the very last line. There were some massive swoons between these pages; the touches, the kisses, the intimacy all shared... The road that Charlie and Nate took to arrive at their HEA was a ride I won't soon forget, though bumpy and angsty, which is exactly what I adore. I highly rec this story and am looking forward to much more in the future from Ms. Proctor.
Meet Me Under The Stars by KD Proctor • Grief Sometimes paranoia over the unknown will not only make you do stupid things but keep you from living a happy loving life. But if you can push past that and actually let others in and not do everything solo you just might end up with your own happily ever after. Charlie and Nate are thrown together to after Gwen dies, which is torture for them both. They've never stopped loving each other and Nate doesn't understand why Charlie left him high and dry over 3 years ago. They both have secrets and things going on in their lives that working together on this memorial project gets in the way of. But Gwen meant too much to both of them to not work together on this for her. What was Gwen thinking making them work as co-chair? Will this be their second chance at love or will they be destined to live alone with the pain of that special one getting away? You'll have to read Met Me Under The stars to find out. Just be prepared with a biz of tissues in hand, you'll need them. But WOW this is an amazing story! I loved every second of reading it. This emotionally charged story is very well written, I laughed and cried clear through the end while rooting for a HEA ending. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book, via IndieSagePR for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older! Favorite Passages ~ • “I should be cheesed off at you right now.” • ....it has me lit me up like a million stars across the Colorado sky. • A lot of people compare love to a puzzle where once two people meet they’re each other’s missing piece. I call bullshit on that. To me, love is more like a mosaic—creating something beautiful while still flawed and imperfect.
Loved this book so much. Charlie is such a great heroine, trying to stay away from the man she loves because she saw how much pain it will cause him if she inherits the same genetic condition as her sister. But Nate loves her (and doesn't understand why she pushed him away). It was great to watch them find their way back to each other.
Even when Charlie was making bad decisions and making me shake my head at her, I still understood and rooted for her. That's the mark of a good romance for me.

Meet Me Under the Stars was a great surprise for me! I cannot believe that this a debut author and novel, and let me tell you that I will be reading more of her books for sure. This is a great second chance love story.
MMUTS is Charlie and Nate’s story. Charlie and Nate met and fell in love during summer camp, but this did not have a happily ever after. Charlie ends up breaking up with Nate. I had this love and want to hit Charlie upside the head relationship with her. She is so stubborn and determined to handle everything on her own that she refused to let her friends help her. That is when I wanted to hit her upside the head. She just could not see pass certain things, but that is also why I loved her. She had to be strong to get through a lot of difficult things in her life. Unfortunately, one of the people she pushed away was Nate. Nate is sexy, British player, and he has never gotten over Charlie. I loved Nate, but he also frustrated me because instead of talking to Charlie he played games and these games almost cost them both what they wanted most and that is each other.
Charlie and Nate are thrown together three years after she broke his heart. Charlie’s sister Gwen died and as part of her will Nate and Charlie must go back to the camp where they met and fell in love with each other. They must work together to make Gwen’s last wishes be fulfilled. The minute they see each other again you can feel the tension in the room. This is where the author is pure genius because you can feel the love and attraction is still alive and strong. But, of course, they both fight it and try to deny that the feelings are still there. They are not successful and cannot convince themselves or their friends that they do not belong together. But they do have secrets that they are keeping from each other and they must decide if they can trust each other to have the happily ever after they deserve.
I cannot say enough how much I loved this book. I could not put it down because I had to see what was going to happen next. K.D. Proctor gave me the feels reading this book and I loved every single second of it. This is a definite recommend from me!

Charlie Conti had everything a Hit Home Improvement Show with her mother and she loved her job. Then fate step in with different plan's. With her mothers passing Charlie struggled through, then the death of her sister she was falling apart A much needed Hiatus from the show wasn't what she wanted it was what she needed. Nate is working hard trying to break the Environmental Biology Research record and getting his dream job. When he gets a call from a lawyer for old friend . He tells Nate that Gwen Conti has left a will and that he needs to meet with him. Nates knows that it will bring him face to face with the girl who broke his heart Charlie. Charlie and Nate are left to carry out Gwens wishes pushing them back together with sparks and snarks flying. Will their love rekindle or will Charlies secret keep them apart
Gwen has died and has left a will. In the will Charlie Gwen's sister and Nate Charlie's ex have to set up a scholarship fun at Camp Pine Haven and spread her ashes. Of course both don't exactly want to do it. Charlie dumped Nate to save him. But Nate has no clue why and Charlie is afraid to tell him. A great second chance romance! I could see why Gwen kept her secret but then again I could feel why Nate has too. Both helping Gwen in a way but actually helping each other just like Gwen wanted. 5/5 stars communication solves everything. ****Reviewed for Sweet & Spicy Read provided for a voluntarily Advanced Reader Copy of this book ****
You know a book is phenomenal when it leaves an imprint in your heart.
The same kind of phenomenal feeling when you are experiencing your first kiss, or in this case, the intense chemistry between Nate and Charlie. They are beyond explosive.
Charlie broke up with Nate because she wanted to shield him from pain, from having him to go through what her sister's boyfriend had to. She loved him too much - but he never knew. Nate was a player who went through girls like his personal closet just to forget the one girl he never could. Although he was a jerkface at first, I understand where he is coming from. When the love of your life "ghosted" you and cut all forms of communication as a mean of breaking up, you can never easily get over that. So when Gwen's will forced Charlie and Nate to work together for a scholarship campaign, it reopened old wounds yet also reigniting old sparks that never died.
Honestly, the writing completely caught me off guard. I never expected to be so emotionally invested in their story and the character growth was perfectly executed. The pace may be slow at first, but I loved that the author took the time to build the characters instead of rushing to the romance aspects of the story. I particularly loved reading what Gwen meant to Charlie and how her death has affected her in more ways than one, it really grounded the story and made it even more heartbreaking.
Sure they were funny moments between Nate and Charlie and the rest of the camp besties (I adore Haley!) that had me laughing out loud. At the same time, I was also sad that Charlie and Nate took a long time to find their way back to each other. They are flawed in so many ways, Charlie being paranoid and bossy, Nate being stubborn and flirtpulative (totally made that word up), but they are a match made in heaven.
MMUTS is a beautiful story of friendship, forgiveness, and love. Most of all, it proves that everyone deserves a second chance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of MMUTS provided by BookFish Books and the author. Thank you for such a beautiful tale of second chance romance!
I loved this book! It had me laughing, crying and cheering for a happily-ever-after ending.
Charlie is the kind of character you can’t help but like. She’s fun and spunky and a fighter. This story opens when she is at a low point in her life, which is where every good story starts. Fear and sadness have her making choices she probably wouldn’t normally make. It adds to the depth of her character, and while the choices at time are frustrating, they make her seem real and believable.
Nate is everything you want in a hero. He’s strong, caring and passionate. And did I mention good looking? Plus, his British accent will make you swoon. He starts off pretty far over on the player side, but the more his true personality was shown, the more I fell in love with him. The summer camp setting in the Colorado Rockies is enticing and took me right back to those dreamy camp nights. The story is engaging and well written, and I was drawn in immediately. Overall, a great novel from debut author K.D. Proctor. I highly recommend it!
**Note: There is quite a bit of strong language and a few very steamy scenes. I was provide a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.**
This is a little to be said for meddling from beyond the grave and in this story Gwen does just that by leaving behind a Will that certainly goes a long way to stirring things up again for her sister Charlie. Losing your sister is bad enough but when she leaves behind stipulations in her Will that have you veering down a path that you honestly believed you had left behind you, well emotions were certainly running high. Charlie was bemused somewhat by the inclusion of her ex Nate in Gwen’s Will. After all, having gone their separate ways she was very much hoping that his involvement in her life was over, she had her reasons as to why she called time on their relationship…it’s just a shame that Nate has no idea why! Gwen on the other hand obviously had other ideas and set it out to make sure that after her death the two of them had to spend time together, and as much as it may have appeared that it was nothing other than opening an already raw wound, Gwen obviously knew better because being drawn together was cathartic for them both , her instruction that they join forces to not only set up a scholarship at Camp Pine Haven but to also make sure that her remains were scattered there forced both Nate and Charlie to face the barriers that they had both built around themselves. Now, I loved the angsty attitude that the pair of them had, I totally got the fact that Nate hated the fact that Charlie had dumped him but I was just waiting on the reality of the situation to break through and for the truth to finally get its moment in the spotlight. But would it???? Reasons unfolded and secrets were laid to rest. This was a sound second chance romance that read easily and flowed really well.
*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from IndieSage PR*
4.5 for me. I liked this! It was a fun story between two exes trying to one-up the other in order to fulfill Gwen's wishes while still doing their own thing. It was a little silly for neither to ask for help, since sharing the truth would've made things so much easier, but I can understand why neither would do so: they're both stubborn to a fault. Literally. I liked the chemistry, the connection that wasn't lost. it was fun seeing them try to seduce the other while incidentally getting seduced themselves. The looming threat that I won't name made things really interesting for me, because I never knew what and when things were going to go down. The drama and sexy times were nice, I really liked the writing style that allowed me to flow with the story.
There were a lot of funny moments that lightened the mood, and some really sad ones that totally made me cry when Nate or Charlie shared their moments with someone else. It was an overall satisfying read for me that left me happy with the HEA. Cute, funny and hot with a suspenseful climax that'll push everyone to really think about their decisions.
Meet Me Under the Stars was an interesting book with great characters and a good plot. I don't typically like New Adult but this was well written and had some intense emotional moments. I love the second chance trope and felt these two characters meant to be together. I'd give it a 4.5 stars and take off half a star because the hero slept with another women a few times early on in the story. I really don't like seeing that IN the story though in backstory I can accept it. If that's your pet peeve, beware but otherwise the story flowed nice and was entertaining. Nice job to new author KD Proctor!
MMUTS is a swoon-worthy, can't-stop-reading book that is PERFECT for summer. Charlie and Nate have a chemistry that makes you cheer for them to get over themselves and admit how they feel. All the characters are well-rounded and the camp setting made me long for my days as summer camp. I especially enjoyed the little peeks at camp life that I remember from long ago. I haven't stopped thinking about Nate and Charlie since I finished the book -- I hope there's more to come for them!

Wow, I really don't know if I can say enough about this book. This book had me laughing, I was angry, I was happy, hell I was even in tears over several parts in this book. This book just had it all and I am so, so happy that I picked this book up. This was a second chance romance but it was about so much more than that. This book was so beautiful that you can't help but to fall in love with it.
I wanted to be mad at Nate for how he behaves now but at the same time his heart was shattered by Charlie. Charlie has a reason on why she broke Nate's heart along with hers but seeing him again and having to work with him starts making it blurred.
I really don't want to give too much of this story away but I will say that this is a definite MUST read book. If you haven't read this author before or even if you have this is one you have to check out. Needless to say, I highly recommend it!

Although I felt the writing was great and well-thought out, it was a slow start and really didn't pick up until closer to the end. I didn't really grasp the whole fundraising contest idea between Nate and Charlie. It was a tad confusing as to how anyone would win or maybe I missed those particulars in the beginning. I also didn't like the whole non-communication between the H/h, with Charlie being the worst of the two. It's one of my pet peeves in romance when simple communication can clear issues up quickly. On the positive side, Nate was one of the most authentic in the book - his desire to communicate, his thought processes, and his reactions to events. Along with wonderful supporting characters, the author kept the characters out of their heads with great dialogue. Putting aside what I didn't care for, I think that this was a strong debut book by a writer that will only get better as she continues. The storyline might have dragged at times, but I wouldn't hesitate to pick up her future books and see where this writing career takes her.
When I think of BookFish Books, I now think of the great contemporary romances that they publish. Of course they release other genres, and those are usually good as well, but the team over there has released some really great contemporary romances this year. And this is another great one to add to the list.
In this book we follow Charlie and Nate, as they are forced to work together to grant their friend's last wish. Charlie broke Nate's heart three years ago when she cut off all ties with him, and so she isn't thrilled when her sister's will forces them to work together. Little do either of them know, there's a plan behind everything. Secrets will be revealed, and nothing can be taken back once it's out in the open.
I really liked our two MCs. I was able to connect with Charlie pretty well, and part of that was because we both have complicated medical backgrounds. I was able to see where she was coming from, about not wanting to hurt anyone, when some readers might not be able to see where she was coming from. I also liked how strong and independent she was, even though I sometimes wanted to slap some sense into her at certain points. And Nate, he was just a sweetheart.
The main reason I didn't give this one five stars was because I feel like it didn't have a big "wow factor." You know what I mean? The whole story felt a little forgettable. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this one, I just don't know if I'll remember it a couple months from now. Is this the next ACOMAF? Simply put, no. But this is definitely a fun, and engaging read.
So overall I really enjoyed this one. The characters are strong and level headed, the story line is interesting, the the antics of Charlie and Nate's competition will leave you engaged until the very end. I will be interested in reading Proctor's future works.

Charlotte “Charlie” Conti is taking a break from work after her sister’s death. When her work on her DIY TV show starts to suffer, the network sends her away to “sort” things out which means her job is on the line. Nate Walsh is working on his research wanting to break a record and make a mark that could give him the extra push he needs to get his work visa sponsored and stay in the U.S. when he receives a letter from the government giving him the feared deadline to sort his situation. It’s at that time in their lives when their paths will come to cross again when the terms of Gwen’s will bring them together and make them work establishing a scholarship fund and taking care of her memorial at the camp she always loved. This is a story about a second chance brought about in the most unusual way, but it’s also a story about love, friendship and grief. There just too many things to love about this book. Nate and Charlie are amazing characters and their love for each other is deep and pure, tainted by the lack of communication and the misguided, but still selfless actions that bring on their breakup. The trip to memory lane during the week before the reunion, the friendships they still have and the way they deal with the pain of loss and support each other. In a nutshell, MMUTS is a gem that will pull on the strings of your heart. I think this was an amazing debut for Ms. Proctor and hope it’s only the beginning of a fruitful writing career.
Some of my favorite passages: “You know, hope is a funny thing. It always seems to find its way to you even when you think there is nothing to be hopeful about.” “To me, love is more like a mosaic – creating something beautiful while still flawed and imperfect.”
4.5 stars *An ARC was given in exchange for an honest review*
Second chance at...everything. This book ...sigh, it was full of the feels, angst, tension....lust. Lots and lots of lust filled tension- yum. But the emotion, the stress, the secrets made it so- real.
I read to escape but most of the books I read could be real. I enjoy the complexities of life throwing others off their game. (Lord knows I'm way off.) It makes me feel better even when I am sympathizing with fictional characters. I know I'm not alone. Someone else is reading it feeling just as heartbroken, just as sad, and maybe even crying like me.
This book doesn't prey on its readers. It's not trying to make you sad and uncomfortable. It just gives you the ability to channel those feelings. Now I'm sure people are reading this and thinking what an idiot, what is she smoking....yada yada yada. But at least one person out there knows what I mean.
So back to less emotional and more about Meet Me Under the Stars. Here's what you need to know:
the H is British. Hot with an accent.
That right there is enough for me to one click...you need more!?!
So needy, okay...hmm, oh he's super smart too. College educated, loves outdoors. (He can go outside while I read inside. Don't let that change your mind.) He's the one who got away....or was metaphorically shoved out a moving train in front of an 18 wheeler...but who's keeping track.
So broken hearted HOT Brit...why are you still here!?! Buy it, read it, and maybe you will appreciate my emotional outburst above!
"MMUTS" Never has there been such a more adorable acronym!
There was so much I adored about this book. Meet Me Under the Stars hits all the bases. Love, friendship, family, hope. It was absolutely beautiful.
Nate and Charlie met and fell in love at summer camp. Even though Charlie loved Nate, after horrible events and news impact Charlie's life she decides that it is best to leave Nate and let him move on with his life. However, another horrible event brings them back together. After Charlie's sister and Nate's friend Gwen dies, she leaves a will stipulating that the two create a scholarship in her name at the very camp they fell in love at three years prior. With the help of great friends who are more like family, they set out a plan to grant Gwen's last wishes.
Along the way you see that the connection between Nate and Charlie has never fizzled out and no matter how hard they try to put distance between one another they just can't help themselves. Both character's had their flaws but the one that stood out the most was communication. Throughout the story you get a little frustrated with them for the fact that if they would have just communicated with one another a lot of the heartache they felt could have been avoided.
Overall this book was such a great read and I would definitely recommend reading it.
I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
What a fun book.... First, I have to say, this isn't typically anything like I would read. It left me blushing a lot & saying "Language" out loud over & over... & then it just became part of the characters & I didnt seem to mind it as much. But again its NOT my typical book I read. But I HAD to read this...just HAD to because the author is someone I have followed through the years & am so excited for her debut novel. & I absolutely loved the story of this book. The characters of Charlie & Nate & this passionate love they had & then tore apart ... & the reason they have to come back together to their old stomping ground at camp, where they used to be camp leaders along with all of their old camp friends. I feel like I should just be wearing shorts & flip flops & ratty t-shirts & hair in a braid reading it. It was a fast read with parts that made me laugh, brought back memories, but would also make me cringe with frustration for the characters & heart ache for the people just not getting their act together to get to that happy ending. I know some people that usually read chick-lit-beach-reads would think nothing twice of some of the stuff that had me blushing & saying "Oh gosh" ... & again, it didnt distract from the story - only made it more clearer of the passion of these two characters. I'm sad to let Nate go... the perfect English accent boyfriend... every girl needs a Nate - I'm convinced of it. Keep an eye out for this book if you are a fan of some hot steamy chick-lit reading... & you dont blush easily ;)
This is my honest review on the base of a copy provided by the author
Beautiful Story - To start with! Loved this scenario where old pals are getting together in a camp setting and actually the plan is
Charlie is smart n talented who has her own Youtube Channel and had been working for a show but at the verge of loosing the same - Pressure!
Nate is ambitious Brit guy, left his home & country to chase his dreams as far as his career and life are concerned. Smart n witty Nate is madly in love with Charlie but Why ... someone has to to read the book n find out XD
Like the characters, story line, friendship, camp life, bantering n pull between Nate n Charlie.
I really enjoyed this book. It made me smile, full on laugh and even cry.
According to her sister's will, Charlie Conti has to work with her ex-boyfriend, Nate Walsh, to set a scholarship up. But each has his own vision of how things should be and won't tell the other why. And when old feelings get added to all the tension, who knows what truth will come out ?
I love second-chance romance. Charlie and Nate were made for each other until Charlie broke things off without any explanation. Each is so stubborn and proud, I didn't know how they would be able to move on from the past and trust each other again. I liked Charlie's sass and Nate determination.
The writing was fluid and enticing and made for a wonderful book. The characters are lovely and are all such good friends. I recommend this book
Love second chance romance stories. This one didn't let me down. The chemistry between Nate and Charlie was hot. Charlie's sister brings them back together when she passed away. They have to work together to set up a fundraiser to help kids to get to go to the summer camp she loved. They are both head strong and want there way. By the end they both figure everything out. The story was very well written. Tons of funny bits and parts you just cry. Great ending. I give this story 5 stars and can't wait for the next.
What an excellent read! This story pulled me in from page one. Vivid description, three-dimensional characters, humor, and simply a great story. I will confess: I never went to summer camp. Not once. Because of Meet Me Under the Stars, I now feel as if I experienced the joy and the challenges associated with the long-term relationships built in this type of environment. K.D. Proctor is a talented writer and you won't be able to put this book down. I can't wait for her next book!
Wow this book had me laughing in some parts and crying my eyes out in others!!! Everyone has secrets even Charlie and Nate!! What Happens when Charlie's sister passes and Charlie has to see her ex after so many years? My goodness talk about an amazing story about second chances and cute love story! I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more from this author!!
This was my first read by author KD Proctor and it was such a fun read. The author had me laughing, she had me wiping away tears and she had me swooning with the sweet love moments. She wrote a story with characters who were realistic and the reader can’t help but fall in love with the whole gang.
The reason that Charlie left Nate is so bittersweet; she wanted to protect him, but in doing so she cuts him out of the decision of whether he wants to stand by her in her darkest moments. Then the scenarios that brought Charlie back into contact with Nate was a great work on Charlie’s sister’s part. Not many people get a second chance at love, but Charlie’s sister is ensuring that Nate & Charlie get their shot again. This book follows all the heartbreak, games and hopefulness that go hand in hand with a second chance at romance.
The feelings between Nate & Charlie are so strong that everyone around them can feel them. Even the reader can’t help but want everything to work out perfectly for the two. The supporting cast of characters really bring the story together and just make it even more enjoyable. The book has a really great flow and the pacing is right on point – you won’t feel like anything is rushed or dragging. This book is worth every minute spent on it and is a great love story that will stick with you for a long time after you finish it. The only thing this book will leave wanting is more to the story. I wish there was more to it so I could spend more time with Nate, Charlie and their friends.
