I thoroughly enjoyed Stephany Tullis’s Missing Pieces. It’s the first in what’s described as a multi-branded author series (which I take to be a series written by ore than one author) and introduces us to the residents of the fictional town of Chandlerville, in Kentucky.
Missing Pieces is a romantic novella, in which editor of the local paper, Rachel Blakely, falls for Jairo Aquina, the mysterious (and possibly undesirable) stranger in town. With the restrictions of a shorter length, the complic ...more

Missing Pieces didn’t let me down. When I started reading this short novella to kill the time on my two-hours flight, I was expecting all the elements typical of every Stephany Tullis’ stories I like: a strong and motivated lady as a main character, a mysterious and potential-partner as a counter part, a series of problems to overcome (because life is exactly that way), a low moment, and an ending that leaves me satisfied.
The story has a nice fast-pace, with engaging and vivid descriptions that ...more

The only reason I kept reading this book was to find out who was poisoning horses. Apparently that's revealed in another book in the series. I thought the mystery part of this story was great. The romance, though, was just not believable to me. I also had trouble keeping up with the POV. It jumped around so often. And when you add to that several characters go by so many different names/nicknames, it made the reading lots slower. There weren't too many typos so that was another positive thing. I

Missing Pieces (A Chandler County Novel #1) by Stephany Tullis
This series appears to have been written by different authors. Each author gets a book kind of thing, but unfortunately this one did not work for me at all. apparently the same mystery must run through all of the series because this one gave away no clues to the solution. So, therefore, no plat, very limited character development, and a love-at-first-sight that held zero interest for me.

This is another interesting story about love, trust, and relationships by an author with a sensitivity to the intricacies of making a real connection between people. Rachel [Ray] Blakely’s a busy woman, dealing with her career as an editor in a small Kentucky town with mysterious goings-on that threatens to derail plans for the local celebration of the Derby. That’s the Derby—as in Kentucky Derby. In walks a handsome, blue-eyed man with plenty of mystery of his own, and irresistibly attractive t

Romantic & Intriguing
Writer Stephany Tullis begins her book with an insightful quote:
"A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes."
~Charles Spurgeon~
The opening chapter drew me into this romantic mystery immediately. As with her other books, this writer has a strong female character. In this case it’s the newspaper editor, Rachel Blakely. She’s discovered something about the mayor’s husband that could be a huge story.
This is another hit for the author. I c ...more

Great novel full of colour, sizzling passion, intrigue and tense twists and turns. Set in Chandlerville, and around newspaper-editor Rachel, we are caught up in the town's festivities in honour of the Kentucky Derby. Thrown into the mix are tales of local corruption involving the mayor's family, and the presence of Blue, a sexy stranger with plans of his own, who soon catches Rachel's eye. Great mix of hot romance, suspense and intrigue, and a hot-cold relationship between Blue and Rachel. Terri

People who like romantic tales with all of its crazy ups and downs combined with subtle intrigue and heart pounding suspense cannot miss this book. Set in a small town in Kentucky enraptured by the soon to be run Kentucky Derby what can go wrong? But also what can go right? An enjoyable read with down to earth characters. More to be released in the series. Enjoy!!!
