Not all relationships are fun and games—especially in the supernatural world.

Cori and Bartol might be bonded mates, but that doesn’t mean they’re ready to accept an eternity with each other. They are both wounded souls with tragic pasts that haunt them and not quite ready to trust anyone. But all that may have to be set aside with new problems threatening their future. A d

This is definitely going to enter my top reads of the year! I make no secret of the fact that I adore Susan Illene's work, but I think she has outdone herself this time. I absolutely loved this book. For those that might have had any doubt about Cori and Bartol being deserving of their own series in Destined for Shadows, this should blow your doubts out of the water. The chemistry and action practically blew my kindle! The thing that Susan Illene is so good at as an author is the characterisatio ...more

As usual, this is an excellent book.

Bartol is a 1800 y/o nephilim who was brutally tortured for a hundred years for sleeping with an angel. She was thrown into hell. Half of his face has been badly burned and looks like it's melting, but that isn't his worst scar. His torturer went into his mind and twisted all his memories of intimacy to the point they became nightmares. While Bartol doesn't like to have people stare at him, due to the mental torture he can't bear to be near people or be touch

I love these 2 characters and I'm so glad the author has given them a few books of their own. Cori and Bartol are both complex characters and from the first mention of them I wanted to know more about their histories and how that would shape their futures.

In this book we gain a lot more insight into Bartol and see him gradually slaying his demons (no pun intended ;). Cori has some new powers that manifest in interesting ways, and there's a curve ball in there that I didn't see coming...at first.

I was bored to tears & I hear a baby is on the way. Sorry but I’m jumping ship now. I wasn’t a fan of this couple anyway.

If you’re interested in this author’s work I’d recommend her Dragon’s Breath series.

The book on the whole was good. Story plot was good. The way writer took every character from the beginning to the very end of the book was nice. Fighting scenes were good but I think emotional wise this book wasn't elaborate. It looks like characters are confused about their love life but it appeared to me that writer was confused whole time what the what was feeling for the next. Plus male character Bartol was dominant in relation and it was quite unfair to Cori. Throughout whole story he was ...more

Not what I hoped for

I absolutely loved Susan Illene's Sensor series, so trust that I say with a sad heart that this series just misses the mark.

Often an author's series can be a bit interchangeable, especially the characters. I can say that that is not the issue here. The two series, even while in the same universe, have very distinct characters, plots, and voices Unfortunately, I don't like the voice in the Dark Destiny series. Bartol and Cori feel stiff and undeveloped. I don't feel like we k

If you’ve read Destined for Shadows, you won’t want to miss Destined for Dreams.

Cori and Bartol just might be able to get their relationship back on track if the reclusive Nephilim would just stop avoiding his mate. And while time apart might just make the heart grow fonder, it certainly won’t ease either of their minds, not when Bartol is talked into hunting down a demon and Cori’s business just might be about to be run into the ground by the local supernaturals. Life isn’t simple for the pair

When love gets complicated, sometimes a little distance is all you need; when you are mated supernaturals that distance can be very difficult as Bartol and Cori learn. Each struggling to come to terms with their new relationship status as well as Cori’s transition to a semi-supernatural, Cori & Bartol are in a push and pull imbalance while they try to find new footing until the preternatural world faces a crisis risking everything for this couple. As they and their friends pull together against ...more

I loved this book. It was a perfect second installment for this trilogy. There was plenty of action, some twists I didn't see coming, great relationship and character development, and we got to see plenty of characters from the Sensor Series too. We definitely got to know Bartol and Cori better in this book and it was really great to see their relationship evolve. Can't wait for the next book to see what Susan does with the storyline!

Oh how I have been looking forward to read this book. As usual the author gives us a page-turner you just can't put down.

I absolutely loved this book and I can hardly wait for the next in the series.

I highly recommend the Dark Destiny serie as well as the authors other series. You won't be disappointed.

I love this world that Susan has created. Cori and Bartol are amazing together, even with all their problems. It's always great to see the other characters from the original series. I was so afraid that we wouldn't ever see them again. Can't wait until the next book!

Another awesome book in this series. The complexity of Cori and Bartol’s relationship takes you on a wonderful journey as they work through their issues while strengthening their relationship.

I love this authors writing and look forward to more.
