Dang... I'm the only negative review for this book. This book was extremely repetitive, reiterating these points: study the lords words and say out loud the lords words, words are extremely important and have power, say them until you truly believe it and you'll get what you need.

There were tons of Bible excerpts. It felt like I was in church and saying hallelujah praise the Lord Jesus! :P

It is basically reiterating the law of attraction with a Christian touch on it, referencing the Bible.

Excerpts from the book:
- "Words are important. Begin now to become WORD CONSCIOUS. Words are like little seeds that produce after their kind. Learn to pray according to the Word of God. God's Word will produce after His kind."
- "The enemy knows there is power in your words. That is why he tries so desperately to get you to confess doubt, fear, and unbelief."
- "The WORD is what works. It's not our prayer that works; it's the WORD AND FAITH that works. Prayer won't make faith work."
- "...if you can control the tongue you would have no trouble with the body. He said the tongue is to the physical body (THE RULING FACTOR) as bits are to a horse. They are both establishing the Word of God in the mouth, and they also have control of the physical body. He said, if you would control the tongue, you would not have any trouble with the body."

Excellent book that teaches the power of words and the reason to watch what you say at all times and to say what you want and not what you don't want, even if it's presently what you have.

For anyone out there like me, who struggles with a mean tongue - saying hurtful things to others, sometimes causing irrepairale damage and at the very least burning bridges with our words - bridges that can, and often are, life-changing words that can lead to seperation between friends, divorce between mates, distance between parents and children.... this is the book for you. It will leave you wanting to place your tongue between your teeth an bite hard before you say unthoughtful words to those around you. Great and easy read!

From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.

The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.

One of the best books I have ever read in my life. I had no clue that I was allowing destruction and chaos in my life based off of my own words. This book is not going to be easy to read for the flesh, but my goodness, this book is life changing, literally

This book is an essential book for Christian's. It shows how our words have the power to create or destroy. It gives much biblical evidence and includes a prescription of scripture to confess daily to speak victory and wisdom into our lives like Christ intended.

It's a very insightful book. I know this was written a couple of decades ago, but it seems like a very now word - a word in season.

I Absoutley enjoyed this book. It has helped me along the way to use my Creative power from God effectively. I love how it gives me KJV references to speak over my life. People speak negative. Then they wonder why they receive the negative that they get.

You aren't supposed to deny the right of sickness, just the right of it to be in your way. It ia just a great book for those looking to speak God's Word into our lives to get OVER in life. Our words have power. If you want bondage then speak that. If want blessing speak that. You recievr what you speak. The thing is you must cling hold to what you profess(Heb. 10:23).

He’s right. Speak biblical truth into your life. Trust what the Bible says over what the world says.

This book brought to life in great clarity the importance of reading and doing the Word, and speaking the Word to take up the shield of faith, with authority, to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one

This is my second time reading this book. Why? I believe you can never get enough of foundational teaching as a believer in Christ. This book is packed with faith and revelation information to chew on. We never know that our words have creative power and what we say we will have.
As my pastor says, 'Saying is sowing."
-So, if you don't want something (for example, sickness) stop saying how sick you feel and instead declare your healing and divine health.
-We don't speak about the problem, rather we speak about what we want.
- Words are seeds, they will harvest what you say
-Words are creative containers, use them for your benefit and not your demise
Read it, use your words and faith in God and change your life.

"The Tongue - A Creative Force," written by Charles Capps, reiterates that words have an immense power available to all who use them correctly. Capps begins the book by explaining why it is important to read and repeat God's Word so that it can release the ability of God to work within us. Later he passionately chides people who speak idle words and states that their condition is a direct result of what they release audibly into the atmosphere. This is a very simple notion that is unfortunately complicated by many. The take home message for me was that we must speak with great authority God's Words in every area of our lives. Whatever we say we create. So we must speak carefully.

I normally try and read this book at least once a year. I first picked up this little gem several years ago and it never fails to convey to me the stark reminder the power our words have on us and those around us. Our words can take us over or bring us down. What future do you want for yourself? Your words can shape it and bring it into existence, good, bad or ugly.

Each timeI read it, there are new nuggets of discovery or new meanings that are relevant for the current time.

I highly recommend this timeless book to anyone who wants to create a new life and world for themselves.

I appreciate all of the biblical wisdom and instruction that the author capitalized on throughout this book. Too often as believers we forget just how powerful our words are and how true the Word of the Lord is. Capps emphasizes what most of claim to understand and believer, which is that the tongue is a powerful thing. Althought it was meant to glorify the Lord and confidently ask things of Him; if we're not careful, it can also bring trouble to our doorstep.

This is a very inspiring book. Although it was first published in 1976 it is still an extremely empowering read today! You feel the need to highlight so many passages, which I have, and go back and read them often. My favorite quote from this book "I have told my people they can have what they say, but my people are saying what they have".

Life or Death is in the Power of the Tongue! So true! Speak positive and good things will happen, be negative and don't be surprised things don't go your way. A great book with scripture to back it all up! A must have in my library. I will be checking back often for reminders!

I read this book in 2007. Excellent perspective. I stopped cursing and started thinking about what I was going to say because I don't want to cause harm to anyone's psyche. It literally opened my eyes.
