Charmaine Pauls, you are a genius!

This woman monopolized my attention for two days straight. She owned my every thought. All the other parts, however, I'd gladly hand over to Jacob.

Hi Jacob, I would now like to address to you personally. My name is Talia, I live in Florence, Italy and I'm sure your smart brain can figure out the rest to come pick me up and kidnap me for the rest of my life.

P.S.: If you need assassins chasing me to make

Engrossing with several twists. Oh and plenty of steam!
Great plot that keeps you on your toes and I love that the author brings strong women to the characters. With plenty of twists, action, and suspense, this is one book that will not be boring in the least. Plus love that Jacob can bring the heat too! Yes! Yummmmy

Oh I ATE this book up !!! Start to finish 6 (ish) hours......I couldn't stop !!!

This is Lilly and Jacobs story and quick summary Lilly's dad is a very powerful underground baddie, but on the surface appears business man of the year. Lilly as a result has been raised in comfort and idolised her dad.

I am so excited about this book, it was close to perfection.
Loving the enemy is a prequel to Seven Forbidden Arts series and i have to say if this
is the prequel the series are gonna be very promising.

Let's talk about the story Lily is on the run for her father’s sins. Having escaped a brutal attack on her home
she ends up homeless, alone on a bench under a brewing winter storm in a violent city. Then Jacob appears (not by coincidence

I enjoyed this book! It was a solid, well rounded read with good plot and great characters. This is a prequel story for a paranormal series that at the end introduce us to the main characters of the books to come. I would love a little bit of paranormal in the prequel which only had a reference to the subject...

So a little taste of the plot:

Lilly is a sheltered and naive 18 year old girl who is on the streets trying to escape her fathers enemies. When Jacobe find her, she is starved and too tire

This is for me, actually close to a four star read. I do not like erotica and thus, lots of the passages in this book was not for me.
However, I really dislike it when the erotica is the story which is not true here, it is an intrical part yes. But it is not THE story.

Jacob is kinda hot although how he perceives ownership of woman drove me nuts.
Our nineteen year old spoiled brat turned out to be very smart and a fun character and the plot moved fast, giving and taking from the reader the entire

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley for a honest review.

For a prequel, this was a really long one. This is a complete story in itself.

As Lilly's character grew in this story, I then also grew to like her. At first, her begging for sex was annoying. But when the actual act occurs, it's quite hot.

I was surprised that we didn't get to experience any of the seven experiences. If that is what this series will be about, why not give us a glimpse into that world? Without

Fast paced, well written book. Lily is on the run after her father's house was attacked and Jacob is on the hunt...
I loved both characters very much. I also enjoyed meeting Cain and defeating Godfrey. This book was mysterious and romantic.

5 STARS for Loving the Enemy

Charmaine Pauls delivers again! Although I started with Ms. Pauls’ later works and have been working my way backwards, it has been such a reading treat!
While Loving the Enemy is not as “angsty” as the author’s newer work, you can tell how this story was like putting the feelers out for how far she could push her readers towards darker content.
In this story we are introduced to our future villain’s (Godfrey) daughter Lily, and how she is struggling to survive after her

The dual POVs helps a lot. Although the closure between Lily and her family left a bitter taste in my mouth, I'm pretty glad that Lily and Jacob finally get their own happy ending. This is the first time I read this author's books and I think I'll read more.

I can't even put my finger on what it was about this book, but I REALLY enjoyed it.

I didn't like the cliffhanger regarding Lily's father, but can only assume that it continues in Josselin's story.

This was a fantastic book that I couldn't read fast enough! The intense fast-paced storyline is great, well developed characters that are very likeable and easy to connect with, lots of action, suspense, drama, lies, secrets, betrayal, deceit, heartbreak, and intriguing twists that'll have you on the edge waiting for what happens next! I really liked that even though Lily had grown up in an extremely privileged lifestyle, she was strong, independent, courageous, and wasn't afraid to to do what s ...more

I loved this book!

This book delivered everything I love in a good book. Just enough action, a little mystery and the romance was on point. I only saw about three grammatical errors but it was not enough to turn me off. I loved how the author developed the characters; their personalities were believable, nothing fantastic that would have one stretch their mind to believe. I am not giving any spoilers here, I would just highly recommend that you get your reads on.

A few things to note before I start this.
One: I first saw this on NetGalley and requested it when it was under the title Loving the Enemy.
Two: I WAS NOT AWARE THAT THIS WAS A PREQUEL WHEN I REQUESTED IT. It wasn't listed in the description until the title changed that this was, in fact, a prequel.

Therefore, I was so freaking confused during this book that I didn't really know what was going on.

Lily finds herself in desperate times. She discovers her family may not be who she thought they were. Yes they are rich but at what cost.

One thing leads to another and Lily finds herself on the run from her father’s crimes. She is naive and young with little knowledge of what the world is like. Late at night, alone on a park bench Lily is running out of options. That’s when her knight in shining armour turns up but as the title of this book hints you should be careful who you trust. I had zero expectations going into this book. I'd never read this author before and going by the number of ratings, neither have a lot of people. But it had two things going for it:
1. It was free.
2. It's set in South Africa (something that's super-interesting to this suburban girl).

Good news, the gamble paid off. 5 STARS, baby!!

From the very first page, the writing sucked me in and I didn't want to put this book down. It was full of action and adventure with Lily and Jacob on the run, tryi
