When I read this book and the 1st one in the series, it felt like this is the kind of books created if HP (Harlequin Presents) were given a romantic suspense makeover.

Erika Lancaster is getting ready to accept the Businessman of the Year award on behalf of her father Silas, when three guys from the security firm come to pick her up at the door to drive her to the convention centre. Erika is a bit puzzled; usually, there’s only one, and one of the guards looks oddly familiar. It doesn’t take Erika long to realise that she’s being kidnapped! And the guard who looked familiar is none other than Emanuel Duarte, the younger brother of Erika’s former fiancé. Erika ...more

This book was hotter than hell.

I find that the kidnapping trope in romance novels has to be handled well for me to get on board. In this case, it was handled very well. Emmanuel made for a dreamy, noble hero with just enough of a dark side to tickle my fancy. I just wish he was named something a little...sexier.

Erika was an excellent heroine—smart, witty, headstrong. She didn't put up with any of Emmanuel's crap and I loved her for it. Her thought process about the whole

This is a great fast paced read that is a super steamy romance with a bit of suspense. Emanuel Duarte is determined to take down his adversary Silas Lancaster. He knows the only thing Lancaster cares about in this world is his daughter Erika so he hits the man where it hurts and kidnaps her. It doesn't take long for Emanuel to realize he may have bit off more than he bargained for. Erika is strong, determined, and so incredibly tempting. And she doesn't believe a word he's telling her about her ...more

Erika is receiving the Business Man of the Year award. No, that isn't a typo, she's accepting for her Dad, Silas, who asked her to attend on his behalf. She had no idea what was so important that he couldn't make it, but Erika, head of the charity bearing her late mother's name, will do as he asked. Though she has no idea why he insisted she have security accompany her at all times. Of the three awaiting her departure, one seems familiar, but she can't place him. Ahh, problem solved. He's worked ...more

Before I get into any details, I really need to state for the record that this cover is freakin' 5 stars on it's very own, ( I'm a huge cover whore). Now that I got that out of the way, let me break it down. Erika Lancaster is a socialite who spends her time as a huge fundraiser. Her life is pretty even keeled, until she finds herself kidnapped, and if that isn't bad enough, her super sexy captor is trying to convince her that her beloved father is not a good guy. She refuses to believe anything ...more

I am a huge Carmen Falcone fan her books are always fantastic reads so when I heard about the Brazilian Capture I was thrilled to dive into this story. When I got the chance to read it early I dived into the story as soon as I could and it was fantastic.

In this book we mainly follow Emanuel and Erika and lets just say these two do not start of on the best footing . Emanuel kidnaps Erika , however as the story goes on and we find out more and more about why he doing this and of course there feeli

I was fortunate to have received an ARC of this book, I am reviewing of my own volition.

Emmanuel wants the truth exposed. The corruption that caused housing to crumble and people to die. All his efforts to bring Silas down have failed. Frustrated he comes up with a plan he is sure will get him the answers and the justice he seeks.

Erika is her father's spokesperson, usually representing the foundation started in her mother's memory. Often she attends functions with or in place of her father. She

I was hooked on this series from book one, so when this title became available to request from Net Galley, it was automatic for me. I enjoy the Brazilian setting and the very tempting Brazilian hero, Emmanuel. Emmanuel knows he is doing something wrong, but he justifies it because he believes he is doing it for the right reasons. His simple plan is to kidnap Erika and trade her back to her father, but Erika is no quivering damsel in distress. She gives him flak from day one and keeps it up as he ...more

This is a wonderful book that I just loved. It's a fast paced romance with a bit of suspense. In it, Erika is a wealthy socialite who heads a charitable foundation, but doesn't seem to look at the details too closely. Emanuel is a self made wealthy man who kidnaps her as a way to force her father to do the right thing and turn over a man he believes her father kidnapped.

Before long, Emanuel has whisked her away to Brazil. He seems to have planned for everything except for his own reaction to Eri

Hot Hot Hot Love this book, still fanning my face. Emanuel is too die for. Kidnapper, bad-ass and all for a good cause. He is on a cause to expose a man for what he was, ruthless, who didn't care about anyone or anything, but himself. How? by kidnapping his daughter, the face of his charities and swapping her for a man, who had disappeared and could bring down her father's world.

Erika was taken out of her world by Emanuel, and she is not this pampered socialite he expected, not sure if she knew

A great short read about a hot alpha man, Emanuel and the woman he kidnaps, Erika. It's not your typical kidnapping considering that Erika starts to become attracted to him right off the bat. He only kidnapped her to get her father to turn over a man that he had kidnapped to hide evidence that destroyed a community where lives were lost. During her stay with him, secluded from civilization she starts to realize that what Emanuel has been saying about her father could be true and wants to help hi ...more

I received an ARC for my honest review

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are strong and you get to see them change and grow. Poor Erika has so much thrust upon her after she meets Emanuel. Her life is changed for the better and for the worst. She will have to decide on who to believe.

Emanuel thinks that he knows who Erika is, but she keeps making him change his mind. He doesn't plan on ever getting attached to anyone, but will she change his mind or prove that he is better off alone?

Holy Hell! This book was sooo good! This was the first book I've read by this author, but I just one-clicked the rest of her collection! I absolutely love kidnapping troupes, but this one was so well done! Emanuel Duarte has become a vigilante and Erika Lancaster is collateral damage. (side fun fact she used to be engaged to his brother-from what I got it was business not pleasure) He kidnaps her to get her father to give back someone he took. They fall in love along the way and she learns her l ...more

Emanuel likes to make sure he and Erika are on even ground, “if you slap me on the face, I’ll slap you on the ***.” Emanuel knows how to take charge and get results faster, “I’m a large mammal who wants to eat you for breakfast, lunch, and dinner,” he whispered in her ear. “And if carrying you will get me a second closer, it’s worth it." I liked this book, really loved Emanuel.

Carmen Falcone does it again! I love her Brazilian series. They show me a part of the world that I can only dream to visit. This story shares with us Erika & Emanuel. They are side characters from an earlier book in the series. Both good people who have to make some tough choices. I love falling in love with them over the rough & rocky & wet ride! Great book! I look forward to the next book from Carmen Falcone!

I cannot say enough good things about this book. This story is extremely well written and thought out, it gives strength to the female character and doesn't skimp on the beauty of the world they are surrounded by. The surprise twist of an ending delighted me, it wasn't at all what I was expecting. Please read this book, you won't regret it.

I enjoyed reading this story of love found in a very different way. I felt it was perfectly paced with strong characters. Just enough suspense to hold your interest through to the end, had a hard time putting it down.

A fast-paced romance with a bit of suspense. Two very different people from different backgrounds unexpectedly connect. Even though he’s kidnapped her, they can’t resist each other. They develop a hot and steamy relationship, a partnership, and have fun together. Her eyes are opened as to who her father really is. Good plot descriptions and character development.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

A heart pounding romantic suspense with plenty of sparks, danger, action, and sizzling HOT sex! Nothing is better than an action packed romantic suspense with great characters and a terrific plot! And Brazilian Capture is brilliantly written! The characters are fierce and fabulous and the story had me on the edge through the whole book. I loved it!

I was interested in Carmen Falcone’s Brazilian Capture for two reasons. One) our hero is Brazilian and the story is set in the Amazon, and Two) it’s a captor/captee story. I always love to see how the hero/heroine overcomes the captive scenario and fall for each other. This story doesn’t disappoint!

I really adored Erika. She’s so clever and a few times I found myself sitting as close to my kindle as I could, laughing at her daring. She’s always looking for a way out, but she also approaches her

I loved the latest installment in Carmen Falcone's Brazilian series. In this story, a wealthy financier philanthropist kidnaps a naive heiress in a bid to force her father to do the right thing. It doesn't work out the way any of them expect. The story is fast paced and full of lush, exotic vistas. Erika Lancaster, the heiress, is a lovely, lusty high society gal who is surprisingly calm and down to earth when she finds herself the victim of a most unusual kidnap plot. Emanuel Duerte, the older ...more

Could accusations of corruption lead to love?

Within the first few pages, I was captivated. This particular book showcases Carmen's talent of storytelling through the written word. Brazilian Capture easily holds one's attention through the suspense of who is to blame, the flirting between the hero and heroine, how to cope with truth once revealed and the movement through Brazil. The story sheds light on what could happen in the big real estate/construction business.
This book is very well written

I really enjoyed this story!!! There were some thing that were kind of obvious, but for the most part I had no clue what would happen. I love the connection that Emanuel and Erika had from the moment they got into that elevator. They such chemistry!! I also loved how Emanuel was fighting for such a good cause, and Erika couldn't help but fall to that. This book was everything I'd hoped it would be!

This is fantastic being I read the first one in the series I was more than ready for this one. I also enjoy these type of plots in a story because you get to see the pieces fall where they may then come together all different then what the characters think lol. This one centers around Emanuel and Erika whom both have a agenda which they think they have the top idea. As the drama unfolds the heat ignites with these two slow simmer. Then it will start to bubble and boil with you sweating as it doe ...more

This is a fast paced sexy hot read that keeps you flipping pages. Carmen Falcone is one of the most talented authors on creating the perfect book boyfriends. Emanuel is hot kidnapper that takes Erika and Erika is attracted to him, need I say anymore. I enjoyed this story so much, I was glued from the first page until the last word. I highly recommend this book or any book by this fabulous author. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Brazilian Capture is the second book in the Brazilians series by Carmen Falcone. But don't worry if you haven't read the first book (I haven't read it myself) because each book can be read as a standalone novel. However, after reading this fabulous book, I will definitely be reading the first book in this series.

Brazilian Capture tells the story of Emanuel Duarte, a financier and activist, and the woman he kidnaps, Erika Lancaster, a socialite who runs a charity named after her mother. But most

Carmen Falcone learned at an early age that fantasizing about fictional characters beats doing math homework any day. Brazilian by birth and traveler by nature, she moved to Central Texas after college and met her broody Swiss husband—living proof that opposites attract. She found in writing her deepest passion and the best excuse to avoid the healthy lifestyle everyone keeps talking about. When s ...more
