A three-book collection of the serialized episodes of The Erotic Adventures of Jane in the Jungle.
This novel-length volume includes the first three parts from Colette Gale’s bestselling erotic take-off on a Tarzan inspired character, and is the first time the Jane books have been made available in a boxed set.
This collection includes: ENTWINED: Jane in the Jungle ENTANGLED: An Unexpected Menage ENTHRALLED: The Sex Goddess
Not included with this volume: ENTICED: An Erotic Sacrifice ENAMORED: The Submissive Mistress (special double-length episode) ENSLAVED: Prisoner of the Amazon Queen ENRAPTURED: The Renouncement ENCHANTED: A New Love
Inspired by an erotic Tarzan and Jane scenario, filled with exotic and titillating scenes that edge into bondage, domination, and submission, the Jane in the Jungle series is for those who found Fifty Shades of Grey too tame and who miss erotic classics like The Story of O, Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty series, and the novels of Molly Weatherfield.
1. Quim. Although this is fairly low down there on the list of daft names for vag, it still makes me want to let out a most unladylike snort every time I see it... which kind of kills the mood when it appears five times a page. This also applies to various other anatomical terms, including "little pea"s.
2. The sex. Or, rather, the sheer amount of sex. Don't get me wrong - I like sex as much as the next person, but when you are shot (possibly captured? Cliffhanger ahead.) because you stopped to fuck mid escape attempt or when, while you're fucking your maid, you're discussing how someone really ought to try and find your missing daughter, you ought to be having less sex. I mean, seriously. Stop having sex for five minutes and actually do something productive. Or even just try and say alive.
3. The proper Victorian ladies. Or lack thereof. You see, Jane and just about everyone around her thinks she is a proper Victorian lady. This is even used as an excuse to drug rape her, because she liked it really and was just too proper to consent. Now, it has been nearly a decade since I left school so perhaps I'm misremembering my history books but I don't recall it being socially acceptable for an unmarried gentlewoman to be masturbating or having sex at all hours of the day. Or, heck, at all. I find it highly bizarre that Jane is clearly sexually experienced, giving hand jobs and blowjobs and admiring penises left, right and centre... and yet is described a "proper Victorian lady" by just about everyone, including herself. What would Queen Victoria say?
4. The porn-style plot. And by porn-style plot, I mean plot events about as realistic and well delivered as "and the plumber knocked the door..." In other words, lazy writing. Hundreds of mentions of quim do not a plot make.
5. Insert rant about being poor and not being able to justify coughing up for numerous parts of serial novels here.
Part 1 Entwined 3.5* Read in the anthology Seven Sinful Stories: The Second Collection June 2017 Part 2 Entangled: An Unexpected Menage 2* Read July 2017 Apparently the "unexpected menage" = drugs, set-up by trusted fiancé, with dubious consent for sleazy third (or did I mean turd). Not cool. Part 3 Enthralled: The Sex Goddess. This offering is pure erotic fantasy, safe and consensual (ahem). Well, erotic fantasies MUST have an element of danger or taboo to work, right? Book 3, for me, smooths out the sleaze , safety , and dubious consent issues I had with the first two parts of Jane's jungle escapades. I like Jane. I want Jane to continue on her journey *wink wink* I want to know more about Zaran. And if Devilish Grin will be in any future stories. Just sayin. A well written jungle erotic fantasy series, just be warned not everything goes Jane's way. Solid 3.5*
Unique twist on the Tarzan and Jane story. Jane is a freaky little minx! MF, MFM, FF. I enjoyed it a lot! Some Amazon reviews given were bad stating non-con. I thought it was more strong coercion than non-con. Regardless of the definition, these stories were smoking hot.
Swing and a miss on this one. I loved the idea of a Tarzan and Jane erotic romance but this veered into dark erotica and then the final section absolutely buried it. I am a fan of Tarzan adaptations although they often really struggle with the racial components. I think the recent David Yates movie addresses that part reasonably well. So I was hoping this more modern erotic twist would also manage to update the story. What we got was yikes. I didn’t mind the dubcon in the second section, but as soon as the tribe of natives was introduced that was the end for me. Just about every racial stereotype in the book was so included. Maybe this is one story that can’t be brought into the 21st century. And if it is, it’s certainly not this way. I definitely won’t be continuing this series.
What the heck did I just read?!? This book is full of non-consensual sex. Yes... you read that right. While there are definitely some consensual scenes, each “book” also contains scenes where Jane is forced or drugged into situations that are questionable at best.
Between the questionable scenes, the terrible word choice to describe the female genitalia, and the lackluster characters... it’s just not worth the time spent reading it.
There was a lot of steamy, bondage, and various other unconventional scenes throughout the story and they all happened to Jane. Many escapades and is not short of a little bizarre in places. Said to myself this is really, really is fiction, so bizarre can work here.
Much too smutty for me. I don’t mind a bit of smut but I just wasn’t getting story and didn’t enjoy reading this. I feel like some of the imagery in this book haunts me to this day and it’s been years since I read it. I’m talking 2017..
The multitude of rape scenes just wasn't my thing. I feel like there could have been WAY less of the rape scenes to get the point across of what was happening in the jungle tribe.
Play on Jane of the jungle with some very sexy scenes. I enjoyed the story but was confused by some of the forced sex scenes. I'm possibly going to get the rest of the series
I could not put this down. Jane and Zaran, what an exciting and exotic love story. Good action, kept me on the edge. Cannot wait to grab more of their on going tale!
