Author's Note: Elusive's cover has a new look, but the story inside hasn't changed...a contemporary romance with modern day pirates.

I didn’t set out to be a pirate.
Life for me was about surviving the ugliness that people knew existed but didn’t talk about.
I lived in hell.
Then I saw her.
I knew I couldn’t keep her, but for just a little while I had found heaven.

Frankly, this was not what I'd expected.

When I read the blurb, I was transfixed.

When I started reading the book, I was transfixed.

Because pirates.

And a unique story.
And a romantic, exotic setting.
And a passionate, nostalgic atmosphere.
And a mysterious, adventurous plot.

The first part of the book was every romantic's dream.

From which I woke up suddenly and unexpectedly in the second part of the book.

With a bad case of book hangover.

Who wrote the second part? Because it felt like i

Layered and exhilarating, Elusive got and kept my interest from the very first page. That said, it was severely lacking in the romance aspect, leaning more toward being a mystery slash Ocean's Eleven caper (on sea).

Shannon's review Captures all the reasons why this story faltered.

It's definitely a well written story but, the mystery of the shipwreck and the search for it dominated while the romance was doled out in meager measures.

This review is going to be as spoiler free as I can possibly make it, going into this I really didn't know what I would be facing, but what I got exceeded all my expectations, the cover, the blurb, the author and then those teasers all piqued my interest and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this, it's so unique, nothing I have read even compares to this, or even comes close, it's not just a tale about a wayward Pirate, a hot pirate at that it is so much more than that. So if you're after s

I’m going to be really honest and say that from the minute I heard the words pirate and lost treasure, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I HAD to read this book. A modern day romance that gives you all of the feels while secretly wishing you were a part of the adventure yourself!! Elusive wasn’t your ordinary read. This was a journey into the unknown waters of finding a kind of love that people would be talking about for centuries later.

Seeing that this story is so deeply woven with c

Oh. My. Gosh! I want a pirate of my very own!! One exactly like Kace would be more than sufficient.

Kace was orphaned during his infancy and grew up knowing a life of struggle, poverty and hardship. He eventually found family when he became best friends with Snake at the tender age of 14. Having someone at his side didn’t necessarily make his life any easier. He was still vulnerable, still poor, still finding his meals ou

Elusive is a contemporary, modern day romance. I struggled with this story and the evolution of the story from the first draft to the final manuscript is like night and day. I almost tossed in the towel a few times because I was having a hard time finding Noah's voice, but in the end I realized I needed to show how a boy on the streets in New York became the man and pirate he grows into. I am so glad I stuck with it because I absolutely adore Willow and Noah. Elusive is a love story within a lov ...more

“Once upon a time someone called me a pirate.”

The prologue of this book sets the entire story in motion, but it's so powerful on its own that I just felt the need to address it. It sends you back, gives you a taste of history but also a glimpse into what the characters in this story are fighting for.

"I would find Isabella. I would tell their story, be their voice, share with the world their brief but touching love story."

Knowing absolutely nothing about this book, the blurb is so fantas

***It's live!!!***

Willow has spent her whole life coming second to her parents treasure hunting. The only constant in her life is her Grandad. When her parents flake on her graduation trip to Cancun, she decides to go by herself. She's living the motto her Grandad asked her too. "Live, love, be daring and reckless and most importantly be happy"

This is where she meets Noah. The impact of Noah was more than she has ever felt in her life, but she knows there is more to him. She sees his intensity,

An absolute treasure trove of passion, romance, and adventure! There is romance and excitement with every turn of the page. There was absolutely NO WAY I was putting this baby down! Fiore has made one HELL of a first impression on me with the release of this majestic love story.

"She wouldn't be pulling me from the ugly; I would be pulling her into it. Guys like me didn't get dreams, we lived nightmares."

I was lucky to win a copy of this book in a competition on Alessandra Torre's FB page.

This book was amazing and thats a word I don't use often because it doesn't always describe what I really want to say about it and why it has had such an impact on me. It can also be a vastly over rated word but this book was exactly that - amazing from start to finish and I was in that book along with these characters.

I was so disappointed with this book. When I read the blurb, I immediately stopped everything I was doing to buy it. I put the other books I was reading on hold because it just sounded SO. FREAKING. GOOD. I was SO intrigued and I was ready to dive in to what I thought would be one of the best books I would read this year.

Point blank, it was not good. This book is a guilty pleasure read, at best. The writing was choppy at times and the whole tone was very juvenile. The characters all

I would give this book 10 stars if I could!

One of the most intriguing, interesting, brilliant concepts I have read in a LONG TIME.
It has all the summer fun you want in a sexy romance. With pirates, shipwrecks, mystery, suspense, treasure hunts... and more, oh my! L. A. Fiore takes something I have loved since child hood, a pirates tale, treasure, romance and adventure and turned it into so much more.

This book read like a movie... I seriously didn't want it to end... you won't either. The passio

A modern-day pirate story is as rare as the treasures found deep on the sea floor these days. ‘Elusive’’s blurb doesn’t reveal that much, but it was enough to draw me into a book that I honestly thought I would have liked better. It’s my first L.A. Fiore book in any case, and I hadn’t a clue what to expect.

Much of the first half traces separate lives and timelines of the 2 protagonists and it was done well and believably enough for me to get into the brutal world that Noah/Kace had grown up in a

I just knew I was going to like this book as soon as I read the synopsis. Modern day pirate stories are pretty rare in the indie romance world but I find them intriguing.

Willow has lead a very lonely life as the daughter of two famous treasure hunters. They were never around and always off seeking the next hunt. While she had the love of her grandfather the loneliness brought out the dreamer in her. One of her dreams is to have her own dive team someday. Willow is searching for the rom

When I decided to read Elusive by L.A. Fiore, I was not sure what to expect. This was billed as a modern day pirate contemporary romance. I have to say I am so happy I went in blind because the story we get was an unexpected journey that surpassed anything I was expecting!

I am not even sure where to begin, because I do not want to give anything away. This is one story you just have to experience. There was romance, adventure, desire, treasure and so much more. It was one wild and crazy ride!

Mind. Blown. I really didn't know what to expect when I started reading Elusive. So I just dove in, ready for anything. But it was EVERYTHING that I got. Everything that it takes to make a bestseller is right here. I only hope the rest of the world realizes that and the author gets the recognition she deserves. I laughed. I cried. I was angry, scared and shocked. I worried. I sighed. I blushed. I giggled. I gasped. I worried. I waited. I hoped. I melted. And then I cried

So first off, I call dibs on Kace, I might be willing to share, but he's mines! He is one of those heroes that you see so many amazing levels to him that you can't help but love the good, and the bad, and when Kace is bad, he is sooo good at being bad.

I love Willow! She was real. She didn't whine, she didn't give ultimatums, she didn't complain. She had a backbone, and was strong and smart. Without giving to much away, her job/hobby/passion is AMAZING, her family...... well her Granddad was one

The story of love, with a touch of crime.

I enjoyed reading, but I was surprised, especially since it was based on the story, not on eroticism and sex, as it is now popular.
