Panic Attacks: Causes Of Panic Attacks And How To Deal With Anxiety

Rate this book
No one signs up for a panic attack. Yet considering the statistics of this crippling condition, it is safe to conclude that anyone can be a victim of this anxiety disorder. That is not a scare, it is merely facing the reality of the situation and dealing with it as it is. You might be going about your day, out for a walk, on a date, at work, at home in front of the TV, or even asleep, and suddenly have a wave of intense fear or anxiety ripple through you with the undeniable feeling that something is very wrong. Your heart pounds like it is going to burst out of your chest, breathing becomes a difficult and conscious activity, and then comes the crippling feeling that you are dying, losing control of yourself, or going crazy.
A panic attack is, however, not a conclusive indicator of an unhappy or unhealthy life. The scary thing about panic attacks is that they can strike anyone at any time. The cause may or may not be apparent. You may or may not have a history of anxiety. Sometimes, it can be as result of a situation you are going through—overwhelming stress at work, a stressful social situation, being faced with a terrifying event, or anticipating something really important to you; many other times, they surface completely randomly. But in all, it has a lot to do with mental health.
Panic attacks can be a one-time occurrence. But if recurrent, they might be an indicator of the presence of an anxiety disorder—most likely a panic disorder. Beyond the terrifying experience endured by the victim during the crisis, it does not take rocket science to deduce that a sole attack can leave debilitating scars on the victim thereafter. Thankfully, panic attacks can be minimized and controlled through focused help and treatment.
Whether you came across this book accidentally and the topic somewhat caught your fancy, or you're picking it up to read it deliberately, I’d like to assure you that you are in good hands. You are likely to find out everything there is to understand about panic attacks. This book is informative, educative, and can serve as a self-help guide on issues associated with panic attacks. Among other things, you will be equipped with enough knowledge to identify, treat, and cope with panic attacks. And although this discourse is mainly about panic attacks, several references will be made to panic disorder and other identified causes and effects of panic attacks.
