A Wolf’s Hunger: It can’t be stopped
Axelrod McKenzie left the Seattle’s Wolf Pack ten years ago, swearing never to return. The sudden death of his adoptive father and alpha of the pack forces Ax to go back on his word.
Suddenly plagued by a gnawing hunger that consumes him from within, Ax must confront his inner demons and his half-brother, Kendall; a brother Ax resents because by pack laws Kendall will inherit the alpha seat vacated by their father.
Little does Ax know that his life is going to get way worse before it gets any better. But the moment he has a glimpse of Aimee, Kendall’s fiancée, Ax’s life is forever changed by the revelation that the she-wolf is his fated soulmate.
Passions run high as the three of them must come to terms with their fates. Will love triumph over a family feud that has lasted for decades?

This is basically Soroyan and Raven's second chance at true love story, but has all of the other characters we have grown to love and loath in it too . Soroyan is almost captured by Val Jean, but remains collared and it's driving his wolf slowly crazy or is that crazier ? There are many skirmishes with the bad guys, some world hopping and the finding of family long thought dead. This is the oerfect fifth book for the Dracones/Illyium fight and I can't wait to see if Raven finds the missing and who Lucian will chose to mate !! Lots of minor cliffhangers and one major so get ready to sit down and gobble this book up in one reading !! 5⭐'s for Sheri-Lynn Marean's newest volume in the Dracones series . I recieved a gifted copy of the book and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.

OMG did I love this Wolf's Hunger, so much hurt, control and acceptance.

Ax has been gone from his pack, cut all ties with them years ago, now he returns home from the Yukon where he has lived all those years because his father the Alpha is dead. He blames his younger brother for their fathers decision all those years ago for naming him his successor as Alpha. But Ax is beginning to realize that it wasn't Ken's fault. He was his blood son after all. The closer he gets to the pack, the stronger his hunger gets and when he finally sees the woman that is to be betrothed to his brother, he realizes that he must run even if it kills him. That's when he realizes that all those years he was harboring an anger towards his family that was out of their control.

Aimee has been friends with Ken for years and now they are to be betrothed, but when her wolf catches the scent of Ax, she runs after him. She is torn between loving Ken and being Ax's Soul Mate. How ironic fate is being, worse is being shunned by her soul mate, but she understands his hesitancy, she was after all to be his brother's future bride. Her hunger is just as strong as his and must convince him of the reality of the fates.
Will she be successful, or will Ax succumb to the Hunger?

The strength of love is proven in this story.

Ax was a baby wolf shifter abandoned on the Alpha's doorstep. He loved his adopted dad and brother but as he grew older, he life became harder. Even though he was a stronger alpha than his brother, Kendall; Ax would never become Alpha to the pack because he didn't have the right bloodline. So Ax began leaving home more and more frequently until finally he cut himself from the pack and his family. At the beginning of the story Ax is on his way back to his old pack. His adopted dad just died. Ax is fighting a strange hunger but he is just home long enough to support his brother. While he is home, he runs across a fantastic scent and he is chasing a she-wolf. He gets very upset when he looses her since he is determined to mate her. Then he attends his brother's installation as Alpha and his brother's engagement announcement. The she-wolf he chased is his brother's intended mate. Now Ax is torn between his hunger for his mate and his family loyalty.
Aimee was very happy. She was happily engaged to a local soon to be Alpha who loved her very much. She loved him too but they were not true mates. Everything was great until she met AX and realized that her fiance's brother was her true mate. She understood about true mates but Ax keeps pushing her away.
This is a great story with lots of twists.

This is definitely a story that will tie you up in knots. Ax is a tormented character, feeling on the outside looking in he has avoided his home and closed himself off from the pack. Returning due to the death of his adopted father and Alpha, he finds the one thing he did not expect which will alienate him farther from the pack. Aimee knows she and Kendell are not true mates, but she loves him and would not hurt him for the world. When she scents the unknown wolf at her mating ceremony, she knows he is her fated mate. Her wolf rebels at the false union and when she finds out who the wolf is , things get complicated. This was a unique storyline, while the story centered around Ax and Aimee, Kendell was a big factor. I thought it was a highly emotional storyline, I felt bad for all three characters as they were handed a raw deal from fate or the goddess. Doing the right thing, the sense of betrayal felt by both Ax and Kendell, Aimee's pain at hurting Kendell and the struggle Ax underwent trying to step aside made for some intense reading. I thought this was well written, had a good plot, moved along at a good pace and the way the story was written let you feel the characters pain as if it was your own.

REVIEW
New to me author.

Ax walked away from his family and pack years ago. However, death brings him back, and his life is about to be changed and not just from that death.

Ax' brother Kendall is now becoming Alpha, and there is only one issue he has with his brother. Aimee, is his brothers mate or is she?

The Hunger has hit Ax and with that hits the entire pack the one he wants nothing to do with anymore.

But his Nana knows, the Goddesses know, now how on earth will he have what is his and will his brother forgive him?

So many surprises in this story and the last few chapters had me on my seat.

Ax

I absolutely fell in love with Ax. His story was so heartbreaking and I felt like he deserves so much more. Then I felt the same way for Kendel. To love someone then to find out they belonged to another, especially your brother, must have been traumatic. I just wished they parted on better terms, Maybe somewhere along in the stories they can get back together. Ms La Ports write a very heartfelt story. She brought out the characters so well. This was so well written it brought tears to my eyes. I felt I was right there involved with them. This series is well worth the time to read . I highly recommend them. They just keep getting better and better.

Really enjoyed this book!

Ax has been away for so long. Returning home isn't easy for him but he knows he must go. His adoptive father has passed away and his biological son is to be Alpha. It doesn't help that he's suffering from an unexplainable hunger and doesn't feel like himself. He wants to support his brother and pay his respects.

Then he meets Aimee. She is his brother's girlfriend and soon to be mate.
Only to realise that she's his fated soul mate.

Can Ax finally find happiness? Will his brother forgive him?

This book keeps within the hunger theme, written in a brilliant way to match the other authors, in this book Ax the Alpha living in solitory goes home when his adopted father dies, seeing his brothers brothers wife to be realises she is the cause of hos hunger, he battles it so much not wanting to cause any more grief to his brother who he fell out with, a truly heart breaking book watching the families strugle with what fate has delt them, along with the threat to the pack it gives this book an amazing story line , one not to miss

So very heartbreaking

Sean must have been an amazing man to have raised Kendall and Ax to be as honorable and truly good as they were. The biological need to cleave to your true mate can certainly be both frightening and devastating - and this book showed both. My heart ached for everyone involved with this. Ax would have voluntarily gone mad to protect his brother. Kendall would have been crushed however this whole thing would have turned out. And Aimee was basically forced to become the wedge between them.

Brilliant

Yet another great book to add to the stand alone series.
In this although we still get the hunger this has a bit of rivalry between brothers. Ax comes home to help bury the one he called dad only to get hit with the hunger. As his brother goes to announce his mate of choice Ax finds out the female his brother has chosen is his soul mate.

Can Ax and Amiee make this work or will his brother stand in the way ? Read this brilliant book to find out

Ax: A Wolfs Hunger

Ax is on his way to the funeral of his adopted father and to see his brother ascend as the alpha. He has been hungry and eating doesn't help. Meredith, his nana, tells him his mate is near. At the end of ascension ceremony, Kendall is to announce his betrothal to Aimee. Aimee and Ax are soulmates and both suffering from the hunger. This book was amazing. Enjoyed it.

Love is complicated

Ax returns to his pack land after breaking ties years before. He returned for his father's funeral and wanted to leave as soon as he arrived. His younger brother Kendall would be taking over as Alpha; this is what started the rift between him and his family years ago. If there was to be reconciliation between the brothers the Hunger and the Goddess half other plans.....this is another great quick read in the Wolf's Hunger series by Monica La Porta.

Entertaining

Ax and Kendoll were family. Not blood family, but being raised under the same roof counted for something, right? When the pack Alpha dies Ax returns to face his brother. Even though many years have passed the bitterness remains. The Hunger seeks to control Ax the closer he gets to home. Can their family mend with such a precarious love triangle between them? Very cute story with a sweet and sad ending. Looking forward to seeing what more will come of this series!

Good!

I really enjoyed this by Monica L Porta. It's a good edition to the wolf hunger series. Ax and Aimee find love in the worst possible way , but when the goddess sends that gift there is no stopping it. I felt for Kendall, but that's the way it is. I was glad that there wasa happy ending to this book, was there was plenty if action that could have changed that.

I look forward to reading more by Monica La Porta.

The Hunger unleashed

I was a fan of Ax's after reading the excerpt. From start to finish his story was nonstop.
I couldn't even feel bad when Ax & Aimee found each other & the little brother lost. Yeah poor Kendel, but the hunger would not be denied its fated mates being together.
I do hope the brothers can get passed this in Kendel's story? They were close and can be that way as it should be.

Simple and enjoyable read.
Ax was a bit of a sulky brat for his behaviour in cutting of the only family he has known. To not return to see the man who loved and raised him was selfish and self-centred.
I did feel sorry for Kendall but as a wolf he should know that ones mate can show up at any time.
Aimee was caught unawares too and suffered the most of the three of them.
Plays out well and it will be nice to read that Kendall gets his own HEA.

Ax

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Ax and Aimee's story.

The Author brought the brothers story to life while bringing in the secondary storyline of Aimee flawlessly.

My heart broke for the two brothers. You felt their pain and how torn Ax was to be put in the position he was in. He truly loved his brother.

I am looking forward to Kendall's story.

I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't as hot and racy like the books I normally read, but the foreplay and suspense made up for that. I love when the underdog wins in the end. I also love a dark brooding male who is soften by a woman's love. So this book had all the elements for me. I look forward to reading more for this author.

Good Book

Really enjoyed this book. It was a little different from some of the other shifter books I've read. The H/h are really sincere and I hope we hear about them in the future. I also hope we get a book about poor Kendall.
