Brilliant start to Reynolds' Merlin sequence of stories. This feels like a galactic mystery - bizarre spatial and planetary anomalies, ancient civilizations long vanished, a shadow universe (?!) - all in a fascinating world with a fragmented and pursued humanity, hunted across the galaxy by a relentless enemy. ...more
