Melissa is learning the world isn't what she thought it was. When she meets a group of Liberators who oppose the Cyborg Eradication Project, she agrees to join an expedition set on freeing a group of cyborgs.
Thunder wants to free his cyborg brothers too. He takes Melissa prisoner, only to find that she stirs strange new feelings in him - primal, powerful urges he has neither the ability nor the desire to control.
Melissa can't fight her attraction to the massive soldier-cyborg holding her captive. But soon they're surrounded by Purity Force, and their chances of survival are slim. Can she and Thunder find a way to escape? If they do, will humans and cyborgs tear them apart?
Cyborg Warrior is Book 4 in the Burning Metal series and a STAND-ALONE, full-length science fiction romance. There are no cliffhangers, and a happy ending is guaranteed!
I received this one for an honest review and I did have fun with this one, the relationship was a little fast; but I will not said it's impossible since mine was a little like that.
Melissa in my opinion was a little crazy but she was a sweet girl, I could emphatize with her and her parents situation a little, but wao she went all wild when meeting Thunder.
and haa Thunder he was like a child so adorable, but waooo he went all semental on Melissa I was like he did what to her? and that nasty mouth really turn on people?
I really enjoy and recommend Lisa Lace's futuristic sci-fi series, Burning Metal. They are always a great mix of social dilemma, danger, big hot sexy cyborgs and the women who fall in love for them. Talk about unlikely lovers, but Ms. Lace makes it work and keeps the story fun to read.
CYBORG WARRIOR is the fourth book in the series (but they are stand-alone and can be read in any order) and as usual a completely unique and riveting story. Melissa is a young college girl who is pretty much just off the farm and open to a little adventure and romance. She has a crush on a cute guy who sits behind her in one of his classes, so when he begins to tell her about his compassion for the cyborgs who are being held captive and destroyed simply because they exist, she is eager to learn more and get involved in the cause to free them. Okay, okay. She is eager to spend more time with this guy in the hopes of a little romance. And yes, of course, she will go with him to a high-security facility where Purity Force is holding the cyborgs captive in order to liberate them!
Thunder is part of a rogue group of cyborg soldiers who have made it their mission to save as many of their fellow cyborg brothers as possible. When they discover a large group of their fellow soldiers are being held captive and are scheduled to be destroyed they set a plan to rescue them. But there are humans there making a mess of things including their rescue mission. Things get a little crazy and Thunder takes Melissa hostage in order to gain a little leverage, but he finds he doesn't want to harm her and really doesn't want anyone else to either... but not because he's attracted to the human. This is where the danger, and the attraction, and some cyborg - human sexy times really start to heat up! These two are unlikely lovers, but the chemistry is off the charts. Every thing and everyone is against them. They aren't even sure they'll survive! Great story! Kept me listening that's for sure. 4 stars
* I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator did an excellent job. His characterizations greatly contributed to my overall enjoyment of the story.
~Complimentary audiobook received. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
I normally like Cyborg theme anything BUT honestly I’m 1 hour 35 mins in and I don’t think I can finish the book. It was a standalone for me, just killing time while I was cleaning but being over 30, Melissa was extremely unlikeable for me, hormone driven, immature basically any stereotypical American college attendee portrayed by U.S. movies, I don’t see any potential development other than being love interest. I will give it an opportunity but I think I made a mistake by choosing this particular book.
So far I don't get much outta Thunder, attraction for her and that's it, other than that typical Cyborg portrayal, rediscovering arousal and body desires.
I hate bad reviews, hate giving bad reviews but I must be honest so far this one is not my cup of tea.
Overall, I liked this book. The story line was good. I did feel like I needed to go back and read the first books in this series to find out the backstory on the cyborgs. My real issue was with characters. I couldn't bring myself to really sympathize with the cyborgs. All of them, even Thunder at the beginning, were nothing but mean bullies. They weren't much better than the Purity Force who were the bad guys. Melissa seemed flighty and fickle to me. Maybe it was the "relationship" time frame between Thunder and Melissa. It seemed a little rushed and unbelievable. Will I read other books in this series? Yes. Like I said the basic story line is good and I believe it can be a good series.
*I received an Advance Readers Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
3.5 stars. I try really hard not to give half stars but in this case I had to. There was quite a few grammar errors in this book. More so than I have seen so far in Lace's other books. This is very different from the other books I've read by Lisa Lace. It almost has a smut vibe to it. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I just have to be in the mood for more smutty books. Thankfully it had enough story and development of characters for me to be happy with it.
I really enjoyed reading about Thunder and the other cyborgs. Melissa seemed a bit childish at times but she was not overly immature. Overall it was another good read by Lace.
Probably more 3.5 stars as most of the characters were unlikable. The story itself was good but the cyborgs weren't going to win any sympathy votes (especially with that power-tripping leader) and the liberators were idiots. I wasn't even too keen on Melissa at the start of the book, where she seemed to change her mind on boys at the drop of a hat. Thunder saved the day and the book though! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was fantastic just as the previous three books? It's a story that has you at end of your seat and makes you feel how wrong we are in treating the cyborgs? A beautiful love story, plenty of action, betrayal of friends, and steamy love with awesome characters. You will not be disappointed in anyway and highly recommended. Please keep them coming because they are awesome!
Listened to the audiobook which was fine. This is book 4 and it was so bad that somehow it was.. fun? I am talking insta-INSTA lust to the point that they get intimate 5 minutes after they meet. Makes no sense. The description of the smutty scenes is just so cringey, dude. However, I liked the idea of the cyborgs in a somewhat romantic story so I decided I want to read book 1 to check it out.
This series is excellent! You need to read them in order though. This book has us meeting a new group of cyborgs. Thunder is one of them. He is all business until he meets Melissa, once he really looks at her he is lost. This book has a lot of stent scenes!
Thunder is on a mission and he won't let anything or anyone get in the way of freeing his fellow cyborgs. What he did not anticipate is Melissa. As soon as he takes her hostage his world is flipped upside down. Suddenly he finds himself in a an unusual position. Should he stand by his cyborg brothers or enter into a new world with the one person who has made him feel again?!
Another awesome book in the Burning Metal series by Lisa Lace! 💜💜💜 College girl looking for a hot guy finds Hot Cyborg who's more than man to satisfy her. Can they survive the wrath of the Purity Force?
It was not one of my favorites by this author but it had a fairly decent story line. If you enjoy protesting and righting wrongs then you will enjoy this story.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book received from the author without obligation to do so.

Fourth book in the Burning Metal series and I know when this series is finished I will be rereading them all! I have enjoyed these books a lot..I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I think this is my favorite cyborg book by Lisa Lace yet! It always amazes me how she can write so many books along the same lines, but have totally different stories. You never feel like you are reading the same old story.
Excellent writing , excellent stories from start to finish . My only complaint is that they are to short and the next one needs to be a full length novel.
This a scfi romance at it best I love the MC and how detailed this story was so good it kept me very entertain to want to no what will happen next. Overall this book was well written.
Drama, danger, suspense, hottie cyborgs..this has it all. Melissa, a college student, away from home decides to throw caution to the wind and jump in with both feet following a cute boy on his 'mission' to save some misunderstood cyborgs. Thunder, a Cyborg on a real rescue mission to save brother cyborgs locked up by a dangerous anti Cyborg government group. Missions collide, and Melissa is taken as a human hostage, by Thunder, everything a real man should be. Instant chemistry happens as the two are enveloped in a lust-bubble so hot...of course they have to act on it first chance they get. Thunder & Melissa have a dangerous path to follow on the way to their HEA. Such a fun read!
This series is just getting better and better with each book. This one grabs your attention right from the start Until the final page This is one series of books you should grab.
The cyborgs are in hiding from the Purity Force who believe the only good cyborg is a dead cyborg. When Melissa’s college peers encourage her to join a liberator group, they set out to rescue some captive cyborgs. There is a team of cyborgs also on a rescue mission and things get complicated from there. Melissa has a “close encounter” with cyborg Thunder while his captive.
I am a fan of this series, but struggled a bit with this story. The cyborgs were mostly unlikeable and the humans were naïve. The Purity Force is intended to be unlikable, but that didn’t leave many to root for.
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
A cyborg, a human woman and the need to survive together. Will they each get what they want in the end?
Melissa is just a college woman trying to get by. Life on campus is mostly boring except for the few parties that happen. And her new friend trying to hook her up with a cute guy. Only she gets ringed into a group he is starting and the first order of business is getting some trapped cyborgs free. Can they do it and survive the outcome?
Thunder is a cyborg on the run. Like all the others their leader Savage collected together. In a tiny abandoned house, they live together. It's cramped but it's home to them for now. Keeping those he has safe is top priority. No one will tear them apart. Not even the purity squad. With a mission on his mind to add to their numbers, they plot and plan. Will their mission be successful?
I have enjoyed this series so far but was a wee bit disappointed with Warrior.
The Purity Force are out to eradicate the Cyborgs. They are in hiding under the leadership of Savage (well named!). Meanwhile a bunch of well meaning but clueless human students decide to try and release a group of Cyborgs being held in New York. But their protest/escape plan clashes with Thunders own rescue attempt.
Thunder takes her to use as a hostage but things get a tad heated and he finds himself trying to keep her safe.
I found most of the cyborgs highly unlikable and even Thunder himself is kind of an ass! Melissa and her crew are just too naïve and so uncoordinated. I found the rush into the romance just a bit too quick and the ending was a wee bit disjointed. Hoping that the next in the series will be back on form
Description: Book 4 in Burning Metal Series A Complete Standalone Science Fiction Romance Novel Thunder - Cyborg Soldier Melissa - Human who joined a expedition set on freeing group of Cyborgs. In this story missions collide & danger follows. A suspenseful novel with characters that have undeniable chemistry. I volunteerily reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.
Not your average story! Thunder is a cyborg. Once human, now a fighting machine engineered by scientists. The Puriety Force was out to eradicate all the cyborgs claiming they are all monsters. Melissa is a country gal, who got mixed up with an inept college group led by her crush. They planned to release some cyborgs held by the Puriety Force...but the old saying "the best laid plans..." came to fruition, and the adventure began! Great story...you definitely need to read the book...Lisa doesn't disappoint!
Once again another great read from Lisa lace. Thunder the Cyborg and Melissa a human. Trouble and romance and of course sex . This series gets better ,can't wait for more
Well more trouble between Cyborgs and Humans. As always on both sides some only want blood, but some want the killing to stop and learn to live together. Unfortunately when you have others that won't rethink themselves and keep to the same prejudices fighting will never end.
Melissa manages to get herself it to trouble over a hot guy. But this is big. On a mission to set free cyborgs, she herself has been captured by them and left behind by the guy she thought was worth it. But then when she is being held by Thunder a cyborg all of a sudden she isn't that bothered that she is a hostage.
Thunder part of the cyborgs on a mission to free fellow cyborgs from humans. All he knows is his cyborg family and the humans who threaten them. When he see Melissa trying to do the same as him, he just knows he needs to protect her. She opens up so much in him and he starts rethinking that maybe Humans and Cyborgs can work together.
This was interesting to read for sure. The relationship between these two was so lovely. I also got angry alot with the rest of the Cyborgs and how they think. But then I can't blame them with how the Humans treated them. But with both sides not letting go of the hate and distrust they will always fight. But Thunder and Melissa fight to have a place they can be together, but they don't have it easy. Some heartbreak along the way. These two though make you cheer for them.
A little time jump and boy have thing changed form the stories in lisa lace's other cyborg books. Thier not letting cyborgs integrate in to the world around them, nope they are being imprisoned and killed. Melissa joins a group what wants to help the Cyborgs but don't really know what their doing. To keep Melissa out of they of them doing thier mission Thunder takes her prisoner. It starts all kinds of feelings he didn't know he could have. But with all the danger around them can they make it? You get pulled in to this story fast. I love the characters, action and drama. Super fun read. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I enjoyed it
