I gave my heart to a Navy SEAL.
He took it with him to his grave.
Eleven years later, ignoring the yawning void is as automatic as breathing. Working brutal hours, dating a comfortably commitment-phobic guy, hanging with my best friends. Anything until exhaustion—or an extra glass of wine—claims my consciousness.

So I got to a point in Until I Fall where I thought if I don't stop highlighting I'm going to have the whole book highlighted because there are so many awesome quotes in this book.

Aspen & Anderson are two characters that are so easy for you to fall in love with. They are so well rounded & developed. Loved them & the supporting characters so much.

Aspen was crushed at a young age and decided to throw herself into her work & never let her walls down. She couldn't risk letting someo

“For years I avoided feelings. I moved around, evading big emotions. Yet here I am, falling madly, deeply in love with a man who faces danger for a living.”

Dr Aspen Zimmerman has known love and tragically lost it. She’s estranged from her mother. She lives with one of her best friends, a fellow doctor. She’s been ticking over for eleven years, mostly alone or with ‘safe’ guys, who don’t demand more that she’s willing or able to give. She’s avoided feeling anything really deep and meaningful.

At times you read a book that touches your soul. One that hits all the bases for a number one romance and Claudia Burgoa has done it again with Until I Fall. Claudia has written a stunning love story set around heartbreaking loss and overcoming grief but with hope and promise of tomorrows. Aspen & Anderson have such a strong connection and a way of healing each other that you'll get drawn into the their story from the first chapter. Aspen is a strong female lead but so broken that she's thro ...more

descriptionThis is a pretty great cover. It's a good representation of the story. It has great composition (for the most part). It's eye-catching and original. The only thing "I" don't care for is the type used for the title. It's weird that the "u" and the "i" are lowercase and that throws off the composition a bit. I would have gone with a font that had a bit more unity in regards to the size of the different charactersdescription

I love discovering new authors and then when their work just resonates with me. Well it doesn't get any better than that. Until I Fall by Claudia Burgoa was a fabulous and emotional story about love, fear and letting go. Rediscovering yourself and your passions in life.

Aspen was a terrific character. I enjoyed her journey. It had everything in terms of emotions. Her losing her love of four years was well depicted and I felt her pain and her reasons for closing herself off and staying numb. Her

Anderson and Aspen's story is a heartwarming and tear-jerking story that will stay with you long after the last word.

Claudia is the mistress of family romance. She's has this uncanny knack for weaving the characters so tight that the sense of family just leaps off the pages. This story is no different. I truly enjoyed all the characters, although the jury's out on Scarlett. I loved that she was part of this story, but I want her story because I want to love her. Right now, I just want to smac

This is my first Claudia Burgoa book and I must say that I liked it. It was good, if not a little longer than I expected.

Aspen Zimmerman is a dedicated ER doctor who has been coasting through life ever since the death of her fiance 11 years ago. His tragic death marked Aspen deeply and affected every facets of her life. Despite many years have already passed since his death, it seems like Aspen still haven't truly moved on and lived until she meets Anderson Hawkins.

Love in all its forms…

I knew this book would be targeting my heart with all the feels - both joy and sorrow. I knew because I’ve read (and enjoyed) this author before. Aspen and Anderson’s story certainly did that as they both struggled with devastating loss and the pain and hurt that goes with it. Drawn together through love of another, they soon begin to look at each other differently – seeking and finding support and, dare they say, even love….

This book blew. me. away. I had my eye on this book for a while now because of the cover. I love the fact that it started to tell the story just from looking at it. The story starts off as Aspen is engaged to a SEAL named Michael. They’re so in love and everything is looking forward to the future. When tragedy strikes, Aspen feels like she has to start all over. Eleven years later, Aspen is denying herself love because of her past. When she meets Anderson, her neighbor’s son, she lets her walls ...more

I really wanted to like this one, but unfortunately it was a miss for me. I just never felt fully invested in the characters or story, even though there wasn't anything in particular that I really disliked. I think there were too many subplots and characters for me to keep track of and I felt like the main story line got lost in the shuffle. The writing was good, but the book felt unfocused and unnecessarily long. The most emo

The blurb is good. The cover is beautiful. The author is amazing. But the story… the story is breathtaking. Until I Fall will elicit feelings and emotions in a way that only some books can.

Aspen and Anderson. Just the names alone make me want to go reread their story.

Aspen is guarded, solely by choice. Yes, she’s experienced some loss in her life but she finds comfort in drab, monotony; the only excitement coming from medical emergencies that show up in her ER. I wanted to shake some sense into

I have to be honest, this book was painful to read. There are an OVERWHELMING amount of typos, grammatical mistakes, and editing gaffes, that I don't know where to begin to detail them all.

This book read like a rough draft. Clearly, the author's beta team, editors, and proofreaders let her down in a very big way. Yes, I know that no book out there is perfect, no manuscript is without error. However, I highlighted 65+ mistakes in this book. And I have NO copy editing or proofreading training, so

Wow I wasn't expecting that heartbreaking sadness in the start of this book. Based on the cover I was think comfort and easy but there's more to it than that, it's a long journey ahead. I have note I liked that cover it's not the usual. Aspen this girl needed a hug and a huge break. Anderson and Aspen's relationship is full of tears and emotions.

One thing they share is the loss of someone they love, one who has gone through it and one about to go through it. Aspen has to deal with her grief and

This standalone by Claudia is absolutely beautiful. Grab a few tissues or maybe a box because you're going to need them! From the moment I started reading Until I Fall, I knew my heart was going to shatter. It's full of sorrow, love, loss, and friendship, but it's also about rebuilding love and life.

Addison has suffered the loss of a loved one. Since then she has built walls around her heart. She doesn't show her emotions though. She's lives life through burying herself in work and friends.

This was a decent read, I have to say that the beginning of the book was predictable because of the blurb but nonetheless it was an emotional start to the book. I love the young love of Aspen and Michael and yes I cried when he was killed off, but like I said the blurb alluded to it so it wasn't a shocker nor is my mentioning it a spoiler. What did shock me was that it was eleven years from Michael's death to the present time.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

I thought I was a strong woman until I read the prologue of this book and continued reading. The emotions are just wow. Your heart goes out to both Aspen and Anderson and the losses they had to encounter.

Aspen & Anderson will show you that a beautiful relationship can be developed from a beautiful friendship even though they have faced great losses in their lives. Aspen tried hard not to feel for Anderson but she couldn't help it.

First of all, are there more than 5 stars? Because this book deserves it and so much more! I just, it's hard to string any words together to write a sentence, let alone a review!! Just oh my gosh!!! But here goes nothing!

Life is all about second chances. You just have to be courageous enough to take them. The question is, is Aspen strong enough to do that? The poor girl has had a hard life. She's lost her fiancé and other family members. And right now along with Brynn and Scarlett when she's in

You know you're going to cry. I knew I was going to. Accept it, carry tissues, and one click. It's that simple.

What isn't simple is the emotional upheaval that the author insists on inflicting on poor (un)suspecting readers! No lie I was a slobbering mess at least twice in this book. I will not cop to any other instances because my book buddies already tease me.

What I will share is the fear...I have always had the irrational but highly normal fear of losing my love. It is this terrifying fear t

All I can say is do not loose your box of tissues. You will need them for this book. This is a book of such sadness and growth and I don't even know how to begin talking about it. Both characters have been through so much and lost so much, but Hawk isn't afraid to give love a chance. Aspen has cut herself off from emotions. She works until she is so exhausted all she can do is fall into bed just so she can stay numb. Aspen has left her emotions suspended in time and encased a wall of ice around ...more

Aspen lost the love of her life tragically and has closed her heart and emotions off, she has her work and her friends and that is enough for her. That all changes when she meets Anderson he's a mountain of a man in stature and presence. He recognises that he needs to step carefully with her but it's a case of one step forward two steps back. I refer to Claudia Burgoa as the "Queen of family romance" and this ARC does not disappoint - Aspen Zimmerman was in love and at 21 years old she had her entire life planned out - finish Medical School and marry the love of her life SEAL Michael Reynolds, although nervous about her fiancee's tour of duty Michael promises to come home - when tragedy strikes Aspen's whole world is falling apart, but with the help of her inner circle, therapy and an impossible work schedule she gets by. One night w ...more

Right from the beginning, you are hit with emotionally packed first few chapters. You really feel for Aspen and you also get to love Anderson. The text exchanges between Aspen and Anderson were awesome to read and funny too! The story is definitely heart-wrenching, but you won’t be disappointed with the ending. I suggest reading the acknowledgments as well, as it gives a glimpse into the background of the story.

I find myself disappointed with this book. The premise was good but I don't think it was executed very well. There were many grammatical errors and mistakes which I hate to see. The story itself was really long winded and drawn out, unnecessarily so in my opinion, this meant that I lost interest in the characters. If the characters and story can't hold my attention then it is not good enough and I wouldn't recommend it.

What a very emotional book that will pull on your heart strings. Aspen loses the man she loves and has put up a wall. Aspen is afraid to love because she's afraid of death and being alone. One day Aspen meets the neighbor Anderson and they have chemistry but Aspen decides they could be friends but will it lead to more? Lots of tears and heartache but also smiles and laughs through out this book a wonderful romance story! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book ***

My first book by this author -- and it was a mixed bag for me. Lots of typos - missing letters in words and definitely could have used a final proof. The story is long and drawn out with a lot of extra baggage in my opinion, where some things just don't make a lot of sense. The age of these characters, mid-to late thirties was one that definitely stood out, especially because there were so many times when they acted as if they were teenagers or early 20s -- and two were skilled medical doctors. ...more

Second chances

I really enjoyed this book. The characters seemed real and I definitely understand their hesitancy to open up their hearts. Some events in your life are almost insurmountable. Aspen lost her fiance to a tragic accident. For ten years, she has guarded her heart from love. A chance meeting with Anderson, has the potential to grow into a wonderful relationship, if she will just let it happen!

Oh. Where to start?
Loved it from the first paragraph.
You will need a box of Kleenex and time to devour the entire book in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. I hope there will be more books with these characters. Amazing story line. The banter and harmony between the characters is outstanding.
