The Foxling Soldati is the fast-paced, gripping and wildly romantic sequel to Cochet’s The Soldati Prince. I daresay this story may have even surpassed its predecessor in terms of plot, romance and overall reader enjoyment.

In the first story we met Toka (the sweet Foxling servant to Soldati King Khalon) and Rayner (Khalon’s closest friend and second in command). They’re been in love for centuries, but due to their stations in life and the old laws of the kingdom, they have been unable to
Centuries ago when Khalon took over Soldati for his father, sweet Toka takes his place as a servant in Khalon’s house. When introduced to the court, he catches Rayner’s eye. But it is not meant to be. You see, it is forbidden for servants and higher stationed citizens to mate. However, this can’t stop a heart from yearning….Throw in a vengeful bear king and you have a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

I’m going to admit, I almost dnf this book in the first few pages due to my own

A thoroughly enjoyable little shifter fantasy, this sequel to the Soldati Prince was a nice visit back to the strange and charming parallel universe this is set in.

Rayner, trusted Soldati warrior and best friend and 2nd in rank to King Khalon, has secretly been pining for a little foxling for centuries. Yeah, you heard that right. Talk about a slow burn huh? He and Toka have been eying each other for years, both hesitant to make any grand gestures or official proclamations, mainly becau

The Foxling Soldati is the second book in Charlie Cochet’s Soldati Hearts series. This is a really cute and creative shifter series set in a magical world where shifters protect the human realm from demons. While the first book has more interaction with the human side since Riley is human, this story focuses more on the internal politics of the Soldati world. So it was nice here to get another
A Solid 4.5 Stars for both the narration and the story.

My, did this pack a hell of a punch in such a short number of pages. It made me laugh, rage, swoon and ultimately made me whoop in joy when all the evil bastards got what they deserved (looking at you evil bastard of the bear-shifter variety).

Once again, like the previous book, I wish this was longer and wished it had an epilogue. It also didn’t explain how there was suddenly the appearance of a certain someone when it supposedly takes days

I am seriously loving this series...

'The Foxling Soldati' is the second book in Charlie Cochet's 'Soldati Hearts' and while I did give both of these books 4 stars I have to say I in actual fact did like this one just a tiny bit more. So if I could I probably would have given this one 4.25 stars but somehow that just seems like splitting hairs. So I'm going to call it even at 4 stars and a little more love for this one.

Such a cutie! Toka is an adorable foxling shifter and he is in love with Rayner, second to the King, Khalon. Their union is forbidden by Soldati law, but their hearts no not wrong. :) When a bully King from another realm visits, he causes nothing but chaos and anger.

I enjoyed this short story and look forward to more in the series. I have an idea and Eyre is in love with a certain "military" leader.

3.5 adorbs stars.

Ok so normally I love Charlie Cochet, but I must admit this is the weakest of her series in my opinion. Both this book and the first feel rushed. I really enjoy the world building, but the characters relationships and decisions haven't felt fully integrated and motivated. It's like in this story Toka and Rayner's relationship is just presumed and this is the kickstart of it moving into each being together, but there's really no explanation as to why things that have gone on for centurie

I was so excited to see book 2 in Charlie Cochet’s Soldati Hearts series up to review. I grabbed it the second I could. I fell so in love with Khalon and Riley in book one and was quite eager to see what happened next.

In The Foxling Soldati, we have Toka, who is a royal servant to the king and becomes Riley’s best friend. And Rayner, a Soldati Warrior and the King’s second.

Toka is a foxling that is beyond words wonderful. His strength in who he is and what he needs to do is lovely. He’s in love

Love love love this! Rayner is such a hottie, and Toka is just freaking adorable. It's great to spend more time with Khalon and Riley as well (oh how I love Riley's snarkiness!). Having dispatched with the majority of the world-building in The Soldati Prince, Cochet was able to focus more on the characters in this novella. As with the first story I was sad that this was so short, but I can say that I will be snapping up any other Soldati books that Cochet writes in a heartbeat!

A short read, but we'll worth the time.

Charlie Cochet continues world building in the second Soldati story. While not imperative to read the first book it will certainly enhance the reading of the Foxling Soldati.
Raynor and the delightfully mischievous Torka have simmered in lust for centuries. Finally coming together there long awaited uniting is marred by the visit of a neighboring king. This is the first glimpse that we as readers are given of the other kingdoms up until now we have only seen

Another pretty cover and fun story, a 3.5 for sure! Toka is sweet but not exactly shy, and Rayner is quite smitten with his little foxling and they make for a cute couple. Some drama again with this story, this time with another kingdom and Riley and Khalon as well. Looking forward to more books in this series (I hope, I hope)!

Charlie should write these types of “fairytales” FOREVER!

While I’m a big fan of her THIRDS stories, I think she is truly EXCEPTIONAL when it comes to her fairy tale type stories. This, her Christmas series ( and her Intrepid series ( just absolutely GLOW with her creativity!

THIRDS is funny and sexy and witty, but these series are super creative and whimsical as well as deeply romantic and touching.

The world that Charlie Cochet has created for the ‘Soldati Hearts’ series is supremely fascinating and I felt as if I'd only skimmed the surface after reading the first novella ‘The Soldati Prince’. The Soldati owe their immortality to the gods and goddesses who created them in order to fight the demons who plague on all living creatures, including humans. I couldn't wait to see more of Riley, as I adored him from the first installment, and getting to know Toka and Rayner was something I looked ...more
Okay, this book KILLED me! It's not only held me on the edge of my seat, it left me with a nauseating stomach that wouldn't settle down until it was all finished! The book starts sweetly, with Raynar and Toka playing around, continue to Ezra (one of the Soldati "Royal Entourage" to King Khalon) prophesying a visit from the King of the Bear-Shifters going to end up VERY badly. You don't know the half of that!

Raynar has offended said King of the Bear-Shifters awhile back when he refused to marry h

I enjoyed reading this sweet story. Toka is my favorite character in the Soldati realm and I think he and Rayner make a great couple.
However, I think Pavioni’s plot to hurt Rayner was pretty obvious and I just can’t buy that nobody did anything to stop him. Other than Riley, the others were ready to punish Rayner and let Pavioni take Toka. I was pretty mad, especially at Khalon, for not standing by his friend.

Toka could have been a girl and this could have easily been a pathetic f/m romance and it wouldn't have made a difference. Also, the narrator did not help. (Needless to say, not a fan).

Beautiful! I loved Toka, he is too sweet for his own good.

There is plenty of drama & angst here. I got all teary eyed in a couple of places as well as nervous but true love, honor and dignity saved the day!

It's a great way to spend the afternoon and left me happy and looking forward to the next book in the series.

What a wonderful story. Charlie did it again. She is one of the greatest writers to me. She draws me into her stories and I don't put the book down until I'm done. This one was to short it felt like I picked up the book an I was done. The thirds is like that too. Charlie Cochet is a great author to me. I recommend all her books.

After centuries of flirtation and kisses, they finally succumb to their desires, knowing that the law forbids them from being mated. An amazing return to the world of the Soldati!

It has been a couple of years since the Soldati Prince, and we get to see how Riley has settled into his life there through the eyes of his servant Toka. But things are stirring as a nearby kingdom comes to visit, and their king has a hatred of Rayner and designs to do something about it. With Toka being a vulnerable servant there is much risk to his person as Rayner seeks to protect his kingdom and those he loves.

The Foxling Soldati is the first book I’ve read by Charlie Cochet. The world this author created includes tiger shifters and bear shifters. Our protagonists exist in the tiger community where there are historical hierarchical lines. The Soldati are the king’s soldiers and high up the social ladder. Foxlings are born into servitude, albeit a respected and well-treated servitude. However, laws exist which prevent the two from mating. Of course, Rayner, a Soldati, and Toka, a foxling, can’t help th ...more

The Foxling Soldati is the novella length sequel to The Soldati Prince. I was pretty excited to get back to the world of the Soldati. The first book was full of action giving me a nice balance between romance and fantasy. This one didn’t have much until the very end of the book. I think I missed it because for me this book seemed cute but predictable. I hated the bad guy. OMG he’s awful! I was disappointed in the Soldati King but proud of his

Toka and Rayner have known each other for centuries but they could never act on the feelings between them because of their different roles within the kingdom. Rayner’s a Soldati warrior and Toka is just a servant but that doesn’t stop them from developing feelings and wanting to act on their chemistry. But when an angry king with a grudge against Rayner comes to visit, Rayner fears he’ll find out about his love for Toka and if that happens, will they be able
