London trial lawyer Gen has managed to corral that randy colt His Lordship Arthur Finch-Hatten, the Earl of Severn, at least as far as anyone knows. In public, he seems to be behaving himself, but she’s kind of gotten involved with her client in a way that the Bar’s Ethics Committee would totally not approve of. With Arthur’s impending trial in the House of Lords and the c ...more

Hard Liquor is the second installment in Blair Babylon’s Arthur Duet and is the continuation of Arthur Finch-Hatten and Genevieve Ward’s story. Genevieve, “Gen”, is a junior lawyer, in the first term of her law practical training. As it happens, her future as a British trial lawyer, a barrister, rests on the difficult case of Lord Arthur Finch-Hatten, a privileged billionaire rascal, used to getting his way and nicknamed the earl of Givesnofucks. He is sued by his younger brother for p

5 stars PLUS!!!

Blair Babylon continues her winning streak with her second book in the Runaway Billionaires series and Arthur Finch-Hatten’s second book, Hard Liquor, along with her unbelievable writing, her suspense filled plot and her deeply flawed, but amazingly deep, rich characters! No two characters have had me enthralled and panting for more as Arthur Finch-Hatten, Earl of Severn and Geneviève Ward, Pupil Barrister at Serle’s Court Chambers.

Hard Liquor picks up immediately after the concl

A satisfying end to the duet.... so we ended the last book with Gen thinking she had 'tamed' Arthur but him getting called out of bed to go do whatever it is that he does... this book starts with preparing for his appearance between the Lords Committee that should be able to sort out whether or not he is the rightful Earl, whether or not he is a drunken sot as his brother alleges. Gen keeps trying to figure things out.... Arthur is good at deflecting but Gen is a barrister and barristers are tra ...more

The story of our Barrister Genevive and the Earl of Givenofucks has come to its conclusion, but I hope that this is not the last we see of them.

I liked how in this book we got to meet favourite characters from previous books, such as Wolfram, Casmir and Maxence again.

I liked how Ms. Babylon had split this book into a Duology, as it needed this to show the growth Gen made from her initial meeting with Arthur (I loved his nickname that Cas and Max gave him - the Earl of Givenofucks really suited h

I really enjoyed the first book in Arthur's duology, but this one was even better!

It was exhilarating to see Gen's growth: she started out in book 1 as a frightened and insecure woman and barrister, and by the end of book two she was a kickass heroine. Arthur turned out to be immensely sweet and loving, and at the same time really sexy. Their love was very solid all throughout the story.

I don't want to give away any spoilers, but be prepared for a badass fight in court at the end of the book (o

Gen is trying to gain tenancy, and her test is to win the most difficult case the law firm is handling, while trying to make sure that her mother is well cared for after her stroke. She has a brilliant mind, but will it be enough?

Arthur is fighting his brother over the family’s Earldom, trying hard not to fall in love with Gen, and keep his other job “under wraps”. He’s a notorious playboy, wastrel on the outside, but so much more on the inside!

Blair is an amazing author and always keeps you on

Finally this book is out so I could dig in and devour it in a sec. I was so happy but anxious at the same time due to the way that the last book ended.
One thing that you need to know is that if you haven't read Stiff Drink you need to do it asap because that book is the first book from this duet.
Hard Liquor continues to tell the stories of Gen and Arthur.
They had a bumpy journey on the first book and I just need to tell you to get ready for a bumpy ride.
I thought that this book was going to

Blair Babylon is one of my very favorite authors, which is why I’m on her advanced-reader team, and each time I read one of her books I'm reminded why. Hard Liquor is no exception.

This one had me in tears several times and kept me in suspense throughout. When I finally finished, I was breathless. I was worried there might be some loose ends, but Blair is the consummate professional and left no questions unanswered. I was glad to see the closet door issue resolved.

As always with Blair Bablyon,

As soon as I started reading part one of this duet, I had a feeling that Blair Babylon had outdone herself, and sure enough, part two confirmed that and then some. The continuation of the saga of Arthur and Gen is jammed packed with so much action and suspense, all in "James Bond" fashion, complete with spies, good guys and of course, the bad guys, that once you start to read, there's absolutely no going back, or stopping! And lets not forget the moment when Gen and Arthur are both enlightened, ...more

OMG! Full review coming soon.

Hard Liquor is the conclusion to Stiff Drink and what fantastic stories they both are!

In Hard Liquor Blair Babylon managed to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout nearly the entire book. I'm really not sure I know how to review this without giving anything away – which I won't do. At times it seems like there is no hope at all – for Gen and Arthur's relationship, for Arthur to win the lawsuit his brother has brought against him, for Gen to gain the offer for te

Worth The Wait!!!

Arthur and Gen's conclusion will blow you away!!!! Well worth the wait, Blair Babylon kept me turning the page to find out what could possibly happen next. Just when you think you have it figured out the next twist in the story will have you gasping for breath. In true Blair fashion you will be reunited with characters from previous stories and intrigue for future stories. As with all books by Blair you are drawn to the characters with a force that won't let you go until the end

I want to address these are my least favorite reviews to do. I know how hard an author works on a book and it frustrates me when I can't enjoy the book the author put their time into. This book was different than what I expected. I really wanted to enjoy it. My problem was I found the wording very hard for me to understand at times and some of the situations didn't make sense to me. I want to give you as much of a review as I can but I bare

Loved this conclusion to Arthur's story. It had me laughing, crying, cheering and fanning myself depending on where I was in the story. As with the first book in the series, once I started reading I didn't want to put the book down. As with Blair's other stories, it is well thought out, well edited, story line makes sense and moves along at a nice pace. She gives enough details to pull you into the story and develop strong feelings about the characters - some you really like and some you really ...more

★★★ By Blair Babylon My review I have a hard time rating this book. One of my favourite things about Blair's books is how she brings her characters to life. They stay with me even after I close the book, I think about them, reread certain scenes etc. Unfortunately, I didn't feel connected to neither Arthur nor Gen. The story was interesting and well done, but after reading Working Stiff and Rae, this one fell a bit flat. I have a hard time rating this book. One of my favourite things about Blai ...more

I genuinely didn't know how the author was going to get Arthur out of his predicament, but all I will say is that Blair has a great imagination, an eye for detail and what Gen did was totally kick ass.

This is a story that completely drew me in. With strong characters, layer upon layer of intrigue and suspense and off the charts hot action, it is impossible to find anything to dislike.

I really do think that this duet (with Stiff Drink) is one of the author's strongest pieces of work that I have r

Disappointing

I have only read I book by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed Working Stiff and was anxious to read Arthur's story.

1. Arthur's story was released as 2 books, not released simultaneously. I hate that. Don't leave me hanging to wait to finish a story

2. This had an extremely convoluted plot, with a cast of many. Too many characters and a disjointed storyline distracted me and made the story too unbelievable.

3. Too much graphic sex and a BDSM storyline, which I skimmed over since it bro

What an emotional roller coaster of a book!
I don’t think I’ve ever been this anxious for a book to come out, but when I got to the end of Stiff Drink I was counting the days, and Hard Liquor did not disappoint! I don’t like spoilers in reviews, so don’t expect any here. What you CAN expect is to be put through the emotional ringer before the HEA. I don’t recall ever spending so much time crying and laughing in the same book. Now I need to go re-read the entire series since this book has helped m

5 HARD, STIFF stars for Stiff Drink and Hard Liquor!

I loved Arthur and Gen so, SO much and immediately. As with all of the amazing characters in this world of Blair's creation, they are so well developed and complex. Their faults are real and mostly relatable (I mean, I'm not rich or noble so I have to use empathy there) so you have no choice but to become completely invested in their growth. And man, do they grow!!
I don't want to go into too much because of spoilers but the plot was absolutely

This book is Hard Liquor: Runaway Billionaires #3, written by Blair Babylon. This book continues the story of Author the Lord of Severn and Genevieve, his assigned pupil barrister. Author's brother is trying to have him declared incompetent so he can take over as the Lord of Severn. What ensues is a lengthy and painful battle and Gen is thrown right into the middle. This story was amazing in all of the twisted nuances and unpredictable outcomes. Did I forget to mention that Author is deep into t ...more

Blair Babylon's Billionaires in all forms are one of my favorite "go-to" reads, but I think Arthur might be my extra special favorite. Watching the evolution of Gen and Arthur through the duet (Stiff Drink and now Hard Liquor) has been amazing. Just when you think things are getting predictable, here comes a curveball! It's fantastically engaging and I loved every word. The plot is a steady build with no slow, draggy parts and the characters are all well developed without going overboard. It's a ...more

My heart was in my throat for most of this read. The suspense is incredible and I cannot imagine Gen and Arthur not being together. They are made for each other.

Casimir and Maxence are the best friends and really only family Arthur has. I love how Blair links the characters from her other stories. It's like you get to catch up with them as they involve themselves in the next story.

But seriously I had tears in my eyes so many times and then the next moment I'd be laughing about something one of

Excellent finish to the Arthur Duet and a terrific chapter in the Runaway Billionaires by Blair Babylon. Gen and Arthur's story continues in this book with tense, emotional scenes, fun, loving banter, and heartbreaking love scenes. I could not stop reading. I had to know how their story would end. As a reader, I was, of course, pulling for that HEA, but at times it seemed so heartbreakingly hopeless to expect the fairytale ending. Hard Liquor is the conclusion of Arthur, the drunken and degenerate Earl of Severn, and Gen's, the out-of-her element wanna-be barrister from Texas, story. There wasn't any part of Hard Liquor that wasn't intriguing, sexy, romantic, or suspenseful; but what I really loved was Gen's closing arguement! Boy, she is just full of surprises, and sneaky too.
Of course I am hoping that we still hear about Gen and Arthur's lives in the remaining Runaway Billionaires story.

OMG this book!
I can see why Arthur had to be split in to two books with how long his story is and what a story it is.

If you read Stiff Drink then you already know a lot of the characters, if you didn't then do NOT read this yet since that is very crucial to the story.

We were last left with Arthur receiving a cryptic phone call and him jetting off to yet another country while Gen tries to help him save everything he has. The secret life that Arthur lives finally gets revealed due to the wrong peo

Part two of Arthur's story had me hooked from the start and had a perfect ending. The plot was suspenseful with some twists that I did not see coming. I liked the return of characters from previous books even if they were brief appearances ,making the other stories somewhat connect even if the events in the stories were very different. Loved this book! It had me on the edge of my seat quite a few times while reading. I despaired I was not going to get an HEA while I was in the middle of reading it. Best part? Gen's closing argument in the case against Arthur. I loved both characters. As more secrets are revealed, Arthur and Gen's relationship only gets stronger. I was very fortunate to recieve an early copy of this from the lovely Blair Babylon. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it after the first book had me so gripped. This did not disappoint. I have loved Blairs books from Rae & Wolfe and this is just as good as it was then. Blair brings a unique and talented voice to this genre that is hard to come by. If I could give this more than five stars I would.
