The saying goes “Don’t judge a book by its cover”, but that’s exactly what Whitney did when she first caught a glimpse of Ryker. Hot, arrogant, confident, borderline cocky, and a sexy MMA fighter to boot… she figured they were from two different worlds and those worlds could never meet. However, she wasn’t prepared for that persistence of his because the moment Ryker laid eyes on Whitney, he knew he had to have her. No one and nothing was going to stand in his way.
This story was a slow burn and instalove all rolled into one. I’m not sure how the author even did that. But the connection and chemistry between these characters were felt from the start. And maybe it took them a while to figure out that the feelings they felt were the big L-O-V-E ones, but once they accepted that, they were golden.
There are plenty of hot and steamy times, sweet moments, alpha romance, and fight scenes to keep any reader entertained. The story leaves off on a good note but you can tell it’s a bit unfinished so make sure to grab No Hesitations to get this couple’s happy ending. I know I will ;)

This story was a slow burn and instalove all rolled into one. I’m not sure how the author even did that. But the connection and chemistry between these characters were felt from the start. And maybe it took them a while to figure out that the feelings they felt were the big L-O-V-E ones, but once they accepted that, they were golden.
There are plenty of hot and steamy times, sweet moments, alpha romance, and fight scenes to keep any reader entertained. The story leaves off on a good note but you can tell it’s a bit unfinished so make sure to grab No Hesitations to get this couple’s happy ending. I know I will ;)

She saw an insanely good looking, confident and tattooed bad boy and DID NOT want any part of him. Oh Whitney, you silly girl! That was your first mistake.
Big bad Ryker the MMA fighter saw Whitney and just KNEW there was something about her that he needed. He wasn't going to let anyone (including Whitney) or anything stop him from getting what he wanted. He would just prove to her he was exactly what she wanted and needed.
For the most part I really enjoyed reading this book. It did have a few slow spots...but the development of their relationship was a beautiful thing to read. The rapport between Ryker and his family made this book so special. Especially when he was with his niece, Gracie. Seeing the soft and gentle side of the big bad fighter not only made Whitney fall in love with him. I fell hard too. I dare you not to love this couple as much as I did.

No Holds was the fourth book in the Fighter series by TM Matson. It was part one of a duet. We met Ryker in previous series books, primarily as the antagonist.
Ryker Hayes was an up and coming MMA fighter who was working towards his next level. He was confident, driven and disciplined. He was also loyal to family and friends.
Whitney was a wedding planner that owned her own business. Personally she was guarded, hesitant and reserved. She steered away from Ryker because he was her exact opposite: flamboyant, charismatic and always drawing attention.
I really liked Ryker and was glad Matson was able to provide his POV apart from the other series books. True to form for the series, it was told with a dual POV and the style was conversational; told like we were in a private conversation discussing the situation. The storyline revolved around the friendship / relationship building as well as their two work lives by highlighting the daily routine, challenges and joys of their chosen professions. As a two part story, No Holds set the stage for the conclusion in No Hesitations. I’m expecting the second part to focus on their relationship and his drive to the professional series, or possibly a final drive to fight Levi again. On to No Hesitations to find out....

I absolutely loved Open House by T.C. Matson, so jumped at the chance to read an arc of this book. I'm afraid it just didn't work for me. I didn't really connect with either Ryder or Whitney and at 30% into the book felt that very little had happened. At this point I also didn't feel much of a connection between the main characters. There was obviously a sexual attraction there but it just felt a bit cold, less like chemistry and more like lust . Technically the writing is very good but for me the story was flat.
I did like the interaction between Ryker and his family. These scenes really flowed and felt natural and this was when I felt connected to the characters. Ryker's character really shone in these scenes and I loved the banter with his siblings and how very loving and caring he was with his niece Gracie. I haven't read any of the other 3 books in the series but can say that you CAN read this as a stand alone. Sadly this was a DNF for me but based on my absolute love of Open House I am still willing to try more books by this author.

The fourth in this series as I read this as a stand alone and as an introduction to this author. I felt the storyline worked well on its own but I'm intrigued enough to go back and read the back story to each of the characters in this self contained love story. A tale of second chances and lowering ones guard to take a chance on the unexpected No Holds is a slow burn romance as neither one of them expects to fall so hard. He is trying to correct his one mistake, letting emotions into the ring is a huge no no yet he became someone he is ashamed of when he lost a fight, the only loss of his career and it's haunted ever since. Offered another chance at the pros he is focussed on the win and taking his career to the next level. That is until a stranger with eyes that capture him crosses his path. She is a career woman, having had her heart broken once she's wary of trusting again. She knows what she wants and he is a temptation that is a walk on the wild side but is he worth the risk?
This is a well written story that has depth to the characters and a plotline that develops at a good pace, there are no major plot twists just the natural progression of two people that fight their attraction to one another as the timing isn't quite right but somehow overcome their self made walls and tear them down together. Ryker falls into a trap of his own making believing the hype of his ring name and becoming the character he portrays, losing himself to his alter ego. Whitney has been hurt before so is slow to trust and is honestly terrified of his life style, the violence of the ring and the attention it brings. As they slowly fall for one another it's a heart warming read as they overcome the difficulties together, making mistakes along the way. It's less about MMA fighting although set in that world it focuses more on the relationship issues rather than the ringside subplot. Over all I enjoyed this read, the characters were flawed yet loveable. If you like sexy fighters and no nonsense women them this is a must read.

I read so many Fighter novels and after reading the plot I was totally looking forward to this one. I had a certain idea on how a fighter needs to “feel” like for me to connect to him. Ryker the male lead in No Holds by TC Matson unfortunately did not fit that description … at all.
From the first page on he was different and to me he felt like he was missing depth. There was supposed to be a background to him of lets call it darkness because of his losses but. That took already the backseat before it had a chance to appear because of his absolute instant love ? infatuation ? that already occurred before the reader had a chance to get a picture of that guy.
After that he only felt like a guy chasing a woman and oh yeah there was something about him being a fighter.
So I guess you get that this book an me got off on a wrong foot and somehow we never came back together so I found myself even skimming pages to check if there was something getting me back into the plot.
Well I finished it and I am sure there will be many people out there loving it but even if I am the odd one out there I am not one of them. It is well written but the development of the plot was not one I liked.

I truly loved this book!! This was my first read from T.C. Matson and I was not disappointed. The story and characters were all great! I can totally see Ryker being voted as one of the best book boyfriends this year! He was so lovable despite his tough persona that is portrayed throughout this book.
Ryker is a MMA fighter on the verge of becoming pro when he meets Whitney who is the event planner for his brother’s anniversary party. They are instantly attracted to each other but both have some reservations because Ryker is focused on his MMA career and Whitney is focused on her event planning business and doesn’t another heart break to set her back. From here we see both characters tear each other’s walls down and their whirlwind romance begins. But nothing is ever perfect. How can two people from completely different worlds fight for love when the odds are against them?
This was such a great story and I am definitely going to read more from this author. Even though there is a HEA, I am very excited that the author hinted that there will be more to Ryker and Whitney’s story. I would like to also like see more of Ryker’s little brother Kyce and Whitney’s best friend Candice as these two characters are great!

No Holds by T.C Matson a fantastic five star read. This is the forth book in the Fighter series but it can be read as stand alone. This was such a great story, I haven’t read the other books but I am going to go back and read them, not because I feel I missed anything but because I have enjoyed the writing. T.C. Matson has written a story that pulls you in and makes you has you dreaming of going to the gym to watch the hot boys squatting. (Or maybe that’s just me)
Ryker ‘The Stryker’ is a broken man, he was undefeated and his cockiness got the better of him and he lost his chance at a major win when he got Knocked out, but they say fate has its own plan and maybe that KO knocked his confidence enough that it meant a woman whom he wouldn’t have stood a chance with takes a chance on him now.
Witney has a wall around her heart and won’t let it be broken down by anybody, especially someone she sees as being too much for her, when she meets a man that’s not her type they go on to run in to each other again and seem to be everywhere the other is, until she decides to take a chance. But will she ever get over the insecurities? And will the women who flock to this fighting Rockstar be too much for her?
This was a great story, I really hope that Ryker and Whitney get their happy ever after, there is definitely more to the story. I for one can’t wait to hear more about Gracie, she’s the cutest little 8 year old.

This is the first book I have read from this Author and I have to say I will be checking out the others in this series I really enjoyed this book.
Such a good story. Likeable characters.
Written really well and once you start reading you just don’t want to put it down.
Ryker is a MMA fighter he is bad ass, sexy tattooed, he finds it hard to trust and he gets offered a second change and is determined to win the champion ship. Just when he thinks he has it all planned out. He meets Whitney and he is not only fighting for the championship he also going to fight for her. I really liked Ryker.
Whitney is such a beautiful person she works hard and her life is on track till she meets Ryker he isn’t her type of guy but is he too hard to resist, she falls for Ryker big time can they be happy together they are in for the fight of their lives.
The author kept me intrigue and completely in awe! I really liked Ryker and Whitney’s story and I can’t wait for more..
I enjoyed the side characters too and will be checking out the first books in this series soon. But if you like a sexy MMA fighter. This book is worth the read.

Oh Ryker, Ryker, Ryker....I always knew that I could love this guy, despite his appearances in the other books....and I think I may love him more than I love Levi. Because aside from the MMA fighting, full of themselves bravado, these two men don't compare.
Ryker is working his way back after a devastating loss to Levi, but does he have time for love?
And Whitney-well girl never stood a chance when it came to Ryker. Even if she wanted to, Ryker was just too damn cute and persistent to resist.
I love this series. I find that T.C's MC's (heh) are the perfect combination of alpha mixed with attitude but when they find the one, they are loyal and loving. And Hot. Did I mention hot? Yeah, all kinds of hot.
And sneaky sneaky, but me thinks there will be more from Ryker and his lady love based on that ending. And I for one, can't wait!

I don't usually read a series out of order,but I read this one and loved it! The story is cute,sexy,and funny at times. I love the characters and the writing style. It hooked me from the first page. I can't wait to read the rest of the series! I loved Ryker and Whitney!

I was so excited when I saw that Ryker was getting his own book I pre-ordered it and put a reminder on my phone so I made sure I had it in my library asap…
Ryker is a sexy, tattooed MMA fighter that has recently lost his last fight and chance to enter the pros. He is training hard to get back to where he needs to be and won’t be making the same mistakes that he made the last time. It’s all planned out train hard and win the championship, that is until he attends his brothers anniversary party and meets Whitney the event planner. He is instantly attracted to her and is determined not to let her get away he can tell from the minute that they meet that there is something special between them, can he have her and the pros?
Whitney is focused on her business and wasn’t expecting to meet anyone as determined as Ryker. She’s a slightly insecure woman but with the women that Ryker hangs out with at the ring it would be hard not to be. Ryker tears down Whitney’s walls and makes her see that what they have is worth fighting for.

His biggest challenge....winning Whitney's heart. At first unsure she finally succumbs to his charm. Is she the one to settle his wild soul down?

Its the first book in a 2 book bundle about Ryker with "No Hesitations" being the second book to his story. Ryker is relentless with everything he approaches but has his weaknesses. With Whitney by his side he's is more determined than ever to leave his mark in the MMA. Great read that keeps you glued to the pages.

The Ryker?
Holy crap!!!! I cannot believe what I just read!! Sigh, here I thought I hated Ryker, oh god, hear that? I'm choking on crow.. hahaha!!!! Anywho we see a totally different side to Ryker and why he is the way he is, at first he had one girl in his life that he gave his heart to, Gracie such a sweet girl, but then.... but then..... shhhhh I can't tell ya, however as much as I loved Ryker, I still love my Levi... but holy crap, I'm on the fence for which one I'm marrying now!!! Loved this book, T.C. Knocks it out yet again!!!! Hurry with #5 woman, I need it asap!!! Hahaha happy reading :)

I've never hated Ryker.

I absolutely loved Ryker and Whitney's story. These two are definitely the example of opposites attracting. Whitney is reserved and guarded where Ryker is open and outspoken. The fact that he's a MMA fighter just adds to his appeal. Can't wait to read more!

This is the story of Ryker and Whitney. Ryker is an MMA fighter who after a hard loss is trying to find himself again. Although he is not the "play the field" kind of guy when it comes to all the girls that parade around, he certainly indulges. Whitney is a wedding planner, who after been burned way too many times, decides to focus on her career and let it go.
She didn't count on Ryker making a move.
Whitney and Ryker is one of the best stories I have read in a while. As a blogger with very specific tastes in what I read, recently everything had seemed the same in terms of plot. TC manages to write a dialogue that is witty and organic to the story. The sex makes sense and although it gives us a shock, her story is not all about the sex (not to say it wasn't fantastic). Her writing was so good I didn't need the sex to fix a horrible storyline.
It's very noticeable TC took her time in writing this book, and it felt to me like the quality was incredible. Although I've read other MMA books with similar plots, it felt like I was reading this kinda story for the first time.
I'm going to need the follow up book soon!

First, although NO HOLDS can be read as a standalone...I highly encourage you to read the first 3 books of The Fighter Series (BLINDSIDED, UNEXPECTED & AWAKENED) ...In my opinion, you will not only enjoy NO HOLDS more, because you will have the history between Ryker and the other characters, but, more importantly, if you don't read the other books, you will be cheating yourself of some really good reading....🔥

Since I don't like spoilers, you'll have to read the book for yourselves to get any more details, but trust me, this book is one you don't want to miss.... 🔥

No Holds is the fourth book in the fighter series,although it can be read as a standalone id recommend reading previous books as there is a crossover of characters.

Not only was this the first book by TC Matson I had read, it was also the first MMA in the sports romance genre. I know absolutely NOTHING about MMA, so I was for sure going into this blind. I did read No Holds as a standalone even though there are 3 other books in the series.
Whitney and Ryker's paths cross during an anniversary party Whitney had been hired to plan by Ryker's brother Jackson. While a brief encounter, their paths crossed again soon after.
In the story, Whitney has strong feelings about fighting/violence, at one point her father is brought in. I thought maybe they would elaborate more on her reasoning, but it was just kind of left as a moral belief. As silly as it may seem, I would have liked a story to go along with that.
We are introduced to the Hayes family, who are very close knit. The supporting characters are all fantastic and bring the story together.
I expected a little more of the MMA scenes to play out in No Holds. I know we were leading up to Ryker working for his second chance, so I am sure that is why there weren't more scenes like that.
Overall, I liked No Holds, for being the first MMA in the sports genre that I had read. I found myself reading to dive into No Hesitations to find out what happened with Ryker's career and Whitney and Ryker's relationship. I am giving No Holds 4 stars. I needed just a bit more history on Whitney and a little bit more of the MMA to understand Ryker.

This is the fourth book in this series, and can be read as a standalone. No Holds is my first book by TC Matson, and what a fantastic introduction to a new author.
I’m a sucker for alpha assholes, and Ryker is just that. He’s a MMA fighter, so obviously he’s built like a brick shit house, and cocky, too. Uh, well maybe that’s confidence. Eh, it doesn’t matter, he’s hot! Ryker’s main objective is to stay focused and make it into the pros. This is his second chance, one he can’t mess up, the LAST chance he gets.
Whitney is a successful event planner and very career driven and smart. She has had her heart broke in the past and isn’t signing up for that anytime to soon. Whitney meets Ryker at her clients Anniversary party, which just happens to be Ryker’s brother. The chemistry between the two of them is palpable. But something this hot doesn’t always come easy. Do Ryker and Whitney have a fighting chance? You’ll have to read and find out.

I've read fighter and MMA stories before, but can I say, just OMG, this just blew all others away! TC Matson completely flips this genre and the characters on its ear. Not at all what I expected. The main character, MMA fighter Ryker the Striker, is a dominant, loyal, cocky family guy still reeling from a huge loss in a previous fight that would have given him the championship, leading to the pros. He meets Whitney, a confident event planner who is running the wedding of friends. He is instantly attracted and drawn to her. Ryker pursues her gently, as he quickly discovers that Whitney is a good girl, with no interest in flings or casual sex. The more he gets to know her, the more he wants and needs her. I loved the way Matson wrote these amazing characters with such depth and passion. They experience real feelings, worries, misgivings, and fears within their relationship. Ryker may be a cocky, arrogant ass at times, but never with Whitney. He understands that he needs balance between his personal and public personas. I found that fascinating and wonderful in this type of book and that Matson have her alpha hero that level of maturity. The heat between Ryker and Whitney is awesome, but never crude or vulgar. I cannot WAIT until the next book in this series! Thank for the opportunity to read this ARC for an honest review!

Levi has always been my obsession and he is the alpha male in the first two books of The Fight Series and where we first meet Ryker. Although I always had a soft spot for Ryker. So to finally read his story was amazing he is every bit the badass alpha with a heart of gold (swoon) can you say sexy!! Yes he is ladies. He meets Whitney a beautiful event planner and his opposite in every way. I love the way Ryker goes after what he wants in every aspect of his life. He has had his heart broken and still fights for what they have. He doesn't let Whitney walk away and I love that. This book has hot and steamy scenes with of the charts chemistry. If you love mma and hot sexy alpha males this book is for you. T.C Matson has a way of drawing you onto a story and not letting go. She keeps you turning pages and wanting more. I can't wait to see whats in store for Ryker and whitney. Hands down one of the best 5star reads of the year. This whole series is worth the read. Can be read as a standalone but highly recommend you read the first three books.

So I haven't read the others in the series, so other then the blurb, I didn't know what to expect. This book is raw and beautiful. Ryker's whole life is fighting. He's done well enough to own the gym but one night changes everything. He's out to overcome the past and prove he can still fight with the best of the best. One night changes everything for him.. he sees what his brothers have and wants the same. He meets Whitney. Whitney, is sweet, determined and sassy. She's his perfect match in every sense of the word. She's been burned so he needs to play by her rules. I'm telling you right that these two have such amazing chemistry that they can't keep their hands off each other! Whitney isn't thrilled at first about what Ryker does but gives it a chance because she loves him. She lets all her fears at the door with him and he lets the past go. Just like in MMA fighting, you have rivalry. Ryker has Levi.. and boy does it get ugly, so ugly that a lot of people are in the doghouse. You can definitely read this book with reading the other ones. This book brings the the action, training and the softer side of fighting. if encourage you to read this one!

I freaking loved this book. Between the flawless writing and the amazing characters, this book was perfect!
The maturity in Whitney & Ryker's relationship shows their age. We really get to see how they deal with everyday struggles, jealousy, and blending their lives together. Whitney is a confident wedding planner but she is also her own worst enemy. Ryker is a bad boy MMA fighter and gym owner, he definitely has a softer side when it comes to Whitney and his niece Gracie. He is a walking contradiction but I loved when he showed his softer side. These two compliment each other perfectly and I really appreciated how neither change who they were but invested in each other and learned about their passions and dreams.
The drama was low in this book and it also had a wonderful mix of MMA and romance. It didn't skim or take away from either. This is my first novel by TC Matson and I read this book as a stand alone prior to reading No Hesitation. There were no blank spots in the story with main or supporting characters and although you do get glimpses into previous supporting characters lives it doesn't ruin the other stories in this series.
