The editor is a bit racist and elitist concerning non European stories. He also managed to find the most boring translation possible of the stories.

This book is great if you want a quick run down of folk tales from around the world. It breaks the folk tales down by country, which can be helpful if you are trying to research for a novel. However, the writing is not very compelling, and it can be difficult to read for any stretch of time. This book is not so much for enjoyment and information.

Gave this book away during KonMari challenge. I got about halfway through it, but typeface made it difficult for me to read, and I feel pretty sure I can find most of these stories elsewhere. Not counting as fully read.
