Sometimes love speaks for itself…

After an accident in the line of duty, firefighter Roberto DeRosa’s life is turned upside down. His career fighting fires is over, and he’s left with an uncertain future and an injury that makes communicating difficult for him. The only time words flow easily is when they’re lyrics and he has a guitar in his hands. Talking to women is defin

Being unfamiliar with this author, it was the blurb that attracted me to the story and all the possibilities it held.

"I could barely form a sentence in a public place. My emotions were out of control half the time and I was still incapable of reining them in..."

Without Words started out well and, despite it niggling that Rob's communication skills didn't come over as being particularly hindered all things considered, on the whole I found him likeable, I enjoyed the dual POV, and t
Light, sweet and sexy.

Almost a year after his accident, ex-firefighter Rob DeRosa is still trying to figure out what to do with his life while playing the guitar at his friend’s bar at nights and walking his dog under the San Diego sun during the day. He can never be a fireman again, he had to relearn how to walk and talk and there’s really not much that interests him. Until he literally feels the Earth move when he stares straight into bright blue eyes that instantly seem to calm everything

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, and what a delightful find this was. It has everything I like...a damaged vulnerable hero, a little heat, some romance, some obstacles, a little angst, a little misunderstanding. Now, I could stand my hero to be a bit more damaged and more of an asshole, but I really enjoyed this. It was a light, easy read, the writing was well done, it was well edited...and just what I needed.

Don’t we all like the broken and tortured Heroes? I know I do and this blurb hits the nail on the head.

Without Words is a sweet romance where both main characters fight the insecurities that they have and overcome to be who they want to be and do what they want to do in their life.

Rob is trying to get his life back on track and adjusting to his life with a traumatic brain injury. There are things that help keep him calm, singing is one of them.

There is no greater BOOK HIGH than meeting an author's work for the first time. I popped my Delancey Stewart book cherry and it was one blissful bomb! Without Words is a SLOW BURN of feels on fire. Raw. Riveting. Relentless. This emotional explosion of words detonated me!

A hot and heartwarming fireman-turned construction worker meets a sunshine-filled and sweet gal, both with broken hearts, halves looking to be whole...sign me up!!!

I really enjoyed this one. Loved these characters. They felt so honest and true that you could imagine them as your best friends. The writing is excellent and the story is intriguing with a nice flow.

Life has dealt Roberto DeRosa quite a few blows but none have been as frustrating as the last. While on the job as a firefighter, Rob suffered a traumatic brain injury that has left him with speech issues. Verbalizing his thoughts is difficult so most of the time he chooses not to speak. Corralling
This may be right up there with the best books I've read this year. It's touching, emotional and yet romantic all the while looking at a life lived with a TBI (traumatic brain injury). I absolutely loved this book.
It opens with Rob playing guitar at his friend Trent's bar when he spots two girls come in. There is something about her that calls to him, and when they lock eyes, he misses a chord or two. Afterward she comes up to him and says "Hi." Here we meet Dani. Rob's speech is at times slow

**I received Without Words from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and hones review**

Without Words by Delancy Stewart is the first book in what I hope will be a series of books featuring Dani's sister, Amy, Trent and all of the firemen from Rob's old firehouse. This book had me from the first paragraph to the conclusion with the tender way the author wrote about TBI injury Roberto had. We always hear about our soldiers who have this after fighting overseas but even I

"Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review"
This was a pleasant read with the right amount of drama and pain and I connected easily to both main characters. The secondary characters are also engaging and the setting (San Diego) is beautiful.
I really liked how the main characters (Rob and Dani) connect, understand and support each other, even when justifiable doubts and uncertainty appear. I loved the heroine’s healing power over the hero, it was subtly and gradually introduced

I just finished reading WITHOUT WORDS by Delancey Stewart, which was my first book by this author. I liked her writing style and the story was well developed. What I did not totally understand honestly was the choice of title. Rob’s problems were sever but the title made them seem even worse than they were so I felt it was misleading in a way, but that might be only me so you don’t necessarily need to pay attention to this thought of mine.

The story itself felt fresh so I think it’s a perfect spr

I had the blurb that got me in. Then I read a couple excerpts from the book. Then one excerpt had me saying that I must read this one. This man was in pain, feeling tortured, found the one, and his soul knew it deep down. The sorrow in his inner thoughts were just enough to keep me wanting to read more. I could feel his devastation in losing that first chance to say hello.

This one read had a solid foundation with emotions raw and pure. Good characters. Roberto was one character that spoke to m

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. Another emotional read, and I have to say that I need a break, from them, I need a book, just to laugh now. So there were times, that I wanted to reach inside and just knock them out, and sometimes just hug them. We had frustration, sweetness, tissue moments. Dani and Rob, were both good people, and they both went thru so much, it was heartbreaking, no one, no one should have to go thru what they, ( and no I am not giving you a clue, you have to ...more

Every once in awhile I come across a young adult romance that has all the typical plots and conflicts of that genre, but still manages to surprise me. And by typical plots and conflicts I mean the hero and heroine with the unfortunate childhoods, and really poor communication skills. I spend a good deal of time reading YA romances wanting to scream “Just talk to each other all ready!” Except this time, there’s actually a good reason for the hero to not communicate well.

I'm not gonna lie, the blurb hooked me on this one. And because of the blurb, I waited until I was in the right space mentally to read it because I was sure it would gut me. And for the most part, the book was soooooooo heart-breakingly-warming. But then things happen. Things are said. And the entire thing went down fast ....

This is not my first time with an author/story going wackadoodle on me. I've said this before but apparently I need to remind some people: Words matter. We should be real

I’m left without words…literally…I’m not sure I can come up with the adequate words for how phenomenal this book was. There aren’t enough stars to give it! I was moved to tears of sadness and tears of joy. It’s very rare to have characters affect me like these two did, especially Rob!

Rob is a man trapped in a dark place, shunning most people, except his inner circle. He was hurt badly in an accident as a firefighter. He has worked hard to heal his body, but he is still trying to find himself in

overall enjoyed. I love rob and his dog Sampson. My heart went out to Rob from the beginning. He is a survivor and now was floundering trying to find his place in the world after all he went through. His mom seemed loving but his stepdad boy not good. His friend Trent was great and supportive. But still you truly love Rob from the beginning and see him struggling to find his footing. when he meets Dani words leave him and he is so uncertain about himself now that he didn’t think she would want s ...more
This was a cute romance not very involved but flowed easy with a nice plot. The main characters Dani and Rob were easy to like and were quiet enjoyable to read about.

Rob is recovering from being in a coma.He still has issues and is not yet a hundred 100 percent.Still dealing with physical and mental issues he is working things out on what he plans to do with the rest of his life.Meeting Dani seemed to put the spunk back in him.Gave him hope and made him happy just by spending time with her.She wa

"Without Words" by Delancey Stewart is the story of Rob and Dani, two souls that both have some baggage and aren't sure about where the intense attraction can or will go. Rob, having been injured as a firefighter, has issues with his speech. Honestly, while I found him quiet, I didn't necessarily see a severe speech impediment when he spoke, although his inner thoughts did put forth his frustrations with not being able to express himself the way he wished. Regardless, I really, really liked Rob. ...more

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Dani and Roberto’s story. Roberto had an accident while working that caused him issues he is still dealing with currently. He has trouble communicating from that injury. Dani sees him at the bar performing and is drawn to him but when he seemingly blows her off she feels like he just rejected her. When he offers her help, Dani is surprised but not about to fall at his feet. You can feel the pul

"This was insane. I'd never been on a knife's edge like this, never wanted so badly for a man to just. Touch. Me." Yes, Delancey Stewart builds up some major chemistry and heat in her new book! Our hero, Rob deRosa, may have been injured, but he definitely has the smoldering and hot hero requirement. Rob has suffered an traumatic brain injury while on the job as a firefighter. The subject is handled so well and makes the character vulnerable in ways that I really enjoyed. Make no mistake, Rob is ...more

Without Words was an awesome story of triumph and tribulations, rising above what life has thrown at you in one form or another. It was emotional, I shed happy and sad tears as well as laughed! This story will have you melted to your spot from beginning to end. Will Dani and Rob's demons keep them apart or will they allow each other to be their calming center? Rob is a broken hero trying to find his place in the world after a tragic accident. Dani is a dynamic heroine dealing with past insecurities while opening her own business. Their worlds converge in this touching romance that demonstrates that the right person in your life can make all the difference. Delancey Stewart brings the issue of TBI to life and tackles it with just the right amount of hope and apprehension. I loved the small details peppered throughout that bring this story full circle. ...more
Readers looking for a straightforward tale of two people trying to be independent after arising from adversity will get all that and more with this charming contemporary romance. It's a story full of instantly likable characters dealing with issues that are easy to relate to and which had me furiously turning the pages to see what happens next.

Rob DeRosa's always felt lacking. From his father's careless treatment of him, to his stepfather's constant criticism, Rob's never felt that he ever measu

I can't ever put any of Delancey's books down. Without words was no exception. I was hooked immediately with Dani's strength and was intrigued by Roberto and his brain injury. You have to love Dani, the girl is just so cute and the things that pop out of her mouth tend to have a different meaning at times, “it looks amazing,” I said, unable to keep from clapping my hands like a child. “I love caulk.” I couldn’t help it, the words came out before I thought about what I’d said.
