A collection of eight short stories centered around love all taking place in a magical setting. I wish I could say something positive about this but I really can't. It may be because I read an ARC, which did exclude one of the stories. I doubt that that one story would have made much of a difference here however. I found the stories to be really badly written. The writing style made it seem as though they were written for a younger audience which made it jarring when sexual words were used or sc ...more

This anthology contained eight short stories centered around spring time love. Each story was whimsical, quirky, and romantic. Some stories were weaker than others, and some were highly developed enough to become their own stand alone books. Spring time is always a time of magic as flora bloom and fauna procreate. This served as the backdrop for all of the short stories. Whether it was a pagan love story, or a mermaid tale, or Greek gods falling in love- spring romance was definitely in the air. ...more
Notes From 'Round the Bend
The Girl with a Broken Wing by Sheri Queen: One damaged fairy. One half-human. One destiny.

This story was a cute little fluff piece with fade-to-black romance scenes. While I don’t expect much character development in a story this short, the about-face Pennora did in her attitude and personality was jarring and didn’t quite seem in sync with the timing of events. Edward was fairly consistent, though, and his actions/attitude made more sense. Their relationship was on fast-forward from the jump,

Bite sized stories all packed into one great book. Each story had left a sweet tingly feeling in me after I read each one. My favourite stories would be Love at dawn, the girl with the broken wing, Seaweed and silk and When Hermes Met Eos.
I received an ARC from the publisher from Netgalley. I thank them for sending this wonderful book to me.
