Then He Came Back

This second chance romance had so many bumps, twists and turns in the storyline. I thought I was on a long haul adventure. Thankfully there were no OW. There was one token OM, just to spice up the green eyes of Trey. He deserved it. He did leave her right after she gave birth to Wes when she was seventeen. This story kept me interested with Sue angst over his being back and expecting him to leave again. So will get pushing him away send him flying? Or will he man up and stay?

What a fantastic second chance romance! I was pleasantly caught off guard by the emotional depth of this story and the full circle healing warmth from such a delightful cast of characters.

Sue and Trey had an oops moment as teenagers that sent Trey running scared. 17 years later brings them face to face in order to clear the air and make amends. This was a couple I got behind pretty quick. Even though Sue was a tough nut to

2nd chances

From my own experiences at being a single mom, this book spoke to m y heart. It's always hard to have forgiveness to the dad who walked away. I completely understood everything going through She's heart. I also saw all the pushing she put on her son Wes to succeed in life and have a better future. It was a good, heartfelt story that pulled me back to so many memories and hardships. It was nice to see Wes' dad want back in the picture, take care of his son and f all back in lo v e with

I’d hoped for more about Trey’s work as a doctor in Mosul – now that would have made the story interesting… in fact, getting to know *anything* more about Trey’s inner workings other than how guilty he felt (ad nauseum) would have made him way more interesting. I tried but I never warmed up to Sue. I couldn’t figure out why Trey kept viewing her behavior as ‘feisty’ when it was downright bitchy. Forgiveness is a powerful theme, but this story just kept hammering on it and dragged it out until it ...more

It was a great story of a single mom doing her best to provide for her and her son when the dad was not in the picture. I did have a problem with her anger, rage, glaring at people; it was exhausting for me and I wondered why she didn't already have an ulcer. There were very few real moments in the book that showed her soft side. It's anger and rage and then sex. I enjoyed the book but it wore me out.
