5 Reclaiming Stars ⭐

Forget complicated, this love story is a fucking mess by no exaggeration. This duet will sucker punch you with all the pain and suffering that these poor darlings will endure before they can finally be happy. A conclusion of love and above all; acceptance and finally trust.

In Complicated Hearts Book 2 (as this cannot be read on its own), the love triangle that is Landon, Asher and Breslin has come to light. And nobody is happy with that revelation. How do three people who have been unknowingly linked by the past and present move forward? Because to be fair this is not a story of cheating; it's a story of circumstance.

"What the hell are the rules when the two people you love the most, who happen to be exes...fuck again—because you're the one who told them to."

Without speaking in riddles, both Asher and Landon are in love with Breslin. She has loved them both at different stages and now they boys are getting it on? I warned you, it's a mess. The anger and bitterness they all feel is immense.

"I'm hopelessly and irrevocably in love with two people - and both have completely fucked me up and ruined me for anyone else."

Asher has never known unconditional love. His only experience has been with Breslin and now Landon. Neither are worth walking away from; and damned if he will let them. Both Asher and Landon will need to convince Breslin that she is worth loving and not by one man but two. It’s unconventional but not impossible.

“I guess this situation just got even more complicated then.”

“It did.”

I lean down until my lips are ghosting over his ear.

“Because I'm not only fighting for her now. I'm fighting for the both of you.”

The Complicated Hearts duet was filled with so much angst that I was either holding my breath in anticipation or gasping in disbelief. Filled with bad circumstances, blackmail and distrust, these three had a fight on their hands. Yet somehow Ashley Jade managed to create three characters so worthy of love that they deserved double the amount. Where book 1 was quite tame, this author didn't hold back, and Book 2 was gloriously raunchy. It was an incredible story of forgiveness, hope and perseverance.

4.5 "Fall and I'll catch you" Stars

"The heart is a dangerous thing, because the organ never lies. No matter how many deceptions you try to feed it...it always knows what and who it beats for."

She gets me every single time…right in the heart!

I ran the gamut of emotions while reading this one. I laughed, cried, yelled, and nearly through my kindle more times than I can share. However, I can’t say I wasn't warned. The author said things were going to get complicated and that’s exactly what happened. Complicated Hearts Book 2 is emotionally charged and utterly unique. It's a fucking fantastic read!

Here’s the breakdown: Book 2 picks up right where the previous book ends. Breslin walks in on her exes in a compromising position.

She's beyond hurt by this turn of events. She never expected Asher to show up in her life again, let alone in an intimate situation with her boyfriend. Needless to say, she runs. The rest of the story focuses on the trio's attempts to manage some semblance of a relationship. As expected with a story this complicated, there are a few bumps along the way to happy solution. It's heart-breaking, anger-inducing, and sexy AF.

Here’s what I loved: The book was completely unpredictable. Neither character responds the way I expected. The story took a couple turns I didn’t expect. But most importantly, the ending was exactly what I wanted, but not at all how I envisioned it. I’ve been reading a long time and it’s refreshing when an author takes you a journey that’s completely unexpected. Kudos, AJ.

The storyline and writing are exemplary. The character interactions and relationship development are top notch. I never thought I’d willingly ask to be put through the ringer, but it happened. I knew this book was going to tear my heart out. I knew I wouldn’t like all the characters. But I simply didn’t care. I FLOVED Book 1 and could not wait to get my hands on book 2. As expected it did not disappoint.

Overall... another great read! I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Againnnnn this woman messed up with my heart and my emotions, with her flawed and imperfect characters!

This duet couldn't have had a better name to it, because it's soooooo fucking complicated!
Not in a math or thermodynamics way... But in an unexplainable and gut wrenching connection between three flawed human beings.

It was real, and raw, and intense, and I loved and hated them, AGAIN!

It took so long for Breslin to accept Asher back in her life, and all the jealousy that Landon felt everytime that they got too close to each other, just made everything more acceptable and realistic, because all of them just starting up a real relationship, like rainbows and butterflies into the sunset, would have been unbelievable and pure fantasy!

It was painful, hard, and with lots of heartbreak, but in the end, their love was stronger than anything else on the way!

I liked how things happened in the end, I just wish it wasn't so rushed...
The book have a slow pace on the story, but the climax was action packed but fast paced, and I wanted more of their happy ending.

Now to Preston and Kit's trilogy because they were super present in this duet and I want more!

The second part of the duet was more interesting than the first book. The dynamic of the relationship between the 3 main characters is definitely complicated but felt realistic. I actually enjoyed their interactions and feelings, most of all the duality love/jealousy.
There is a lot of smut that I could do without to be honest. There is also a bit of suspense and a happy ending. It was way better than the first part.

Complicated Hearts book two is the continuation to the story of Breslin, Landon, and Asher. This part of the story is NOT simple by any means. If I could compare it to something it would be math. There are problems that need to be solved. There's answers that you will sometimes get wrong, and honestly at times the relationships and teams feel confusing AF. You won't like it ALL the time. Sometimes you will be mad at the story. The thing is, like in math once you finally fit all the right pieces into an equation and you get the final result... it feels good.

Well let me just say, as complicated as Complicated Hearts may be, it still manages to make you feel that feel good feeling. That being said this story is NOT traditional. It does not fit into a neat little box, but no matter it is a love story. A BEAUTIFUL one at that. If you love beautiful angsty love stories, then you need to one-click this duet, because Ashley Jade angsty love storied the EFF out of this one!

3.5-4 Stars

Breslin, Asher and Landon have an unconventional relationship but they try to make it work because of love. It’s not easy. There’s tension and jealousy because Breslin and Asher have history. I enjoyed how they struggled and also how hard they fought to make their relationship work cause they truly did love and needed each other in their lives. It’s difficult and emotional. Their chemistry and scenes together were hot as hell. I really liked Asher and Landon but I had my issues with Breslin. I felt she was stuck too much in the past and she pitied herself when she should have embraced her strength and past instead. Luckily those minor issues didn’t ruin my enjoyment of Complicated Hearts.

This was a really good fast paced book. Not a dull second, even to the very end there is a lot going on that will keep you turning the page. This book is also extremely hot. I loved every spicy scene in this book.

I just wish these three would have pulled their heads out of their asses and resolved their communication issues much earlier in the book. A little frustrating to read these three dance around each other without sitting down and having important conversations. I would imagine in a relationship with three people communication would be extremely important and these three aren't great at it. Also- I wish we got to see more of them together as a couple. The book ended sooner that I wanted it to which was a bit of a letdown.

I loved the last half of this story. I never expected the major twist. The story really erupts in this book in a good way.
It was steamy, suspenseful and emotional.
Great story combined with mmf.
Thanks @shesaidyestobooks for the recommendation.

2.5 Average Duet Stars

Overall Opinion: This was frustrating to me. It continued to be OTT in the drama. In one duet we have and that’s not even including all the relationship drama this brings. It was like a train wreck and bad soap opera combined. I really disliked the h once we got more of her POV in this book. She was self absorbed, unforgiving, and frankly just not a really nice person! Especially when you are supposed to believe that the two men thought enough of her to consider this relationship instead of just being together. I wish they were just together! I would’ve liked this much more if it was just the two Hs tbh!! It’s seems I’m in the minority again, because others really seemed to enjoyed this…so it could just be a me thing.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is the conclusion of Breslin, Asher, and Landon’s story. I’ll keep this vague in hopes of not ruining things. It starts off where the first book ends with a cliffy and they are trying to navigate a relationship all together. There is some conflict within their relationship, some outside drama, and a good bit of sexy timesand they get a HFN.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Breslin, Asher, and Landon’s POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Alright. It felt tedious and even repetitive at times and while I did skim some of the (seemingly excessive) sex scenes, I made it through the rest without skimming.

Instalove:No, but they all have feelings when this starts.

H (Hero) rating: 3.5 stars. Asher. He was better with their relationship than the first book, but still kind of a mess. I liked him with the H1.

H2 (Hero #2) rating: 4 stars. Landon. He made the stories for me. He was the glue for this relationship.

h (heroine) rating: 2 stars (or even less tbh). Breslin. She’s a B! I really struggled with not liking her throughout this book.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- and there was a lot! So much that I ended up skimming some of them.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: Not IMO

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This ends in a good place for the thruple with a jump ahead epilogue. I would’ve liked much more closure though, because I had many unanswered questions. I’d call this a HFN ending.

Safety: This one is probably either Safe with exception or Not Safe for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences

On and on it goes, I felt like it'd never end. At one point I finally hit what I thought was the drama's climax only to realize I was only 40% through the book! 40 freakin %! And you know, since the new drama has to top the previous one it keeps getting more and more ridiculous. The characters keep facing the same inner demons throughout the entire book, nothing seems to ever improve and they might as well have been walking in circles throughout the entire book. Wow.

I loved this duet! It was so different from other poly books I've read so far! I mean sure..most books I've read were all based around the sole female lead and the guys simulating her fantasies with MM scenes. And you barely get anything from the guys' POV with regards to their relationships with the other guys. It's always everything about the female lead and what she "likes" and what she "wants".

I loved how Landon and Asher had equal or more scenes with each other than Breslin did with either of the guys. Like the author actually developed a relationship between Landon and Asher and damnnn..I loved every second of it! (The first book was primarily Landon and Asher's POVs since Breslin was travelling in Europe.)

And yes, I could see where Breslin was coming from..all the hurt and anguish towards Asher..but I just found her so annoying and "evil". Sure, she had her reasons for keeping Asher at an emotional arm's length but gosh! I wanted someone to tie her up and tell her what actually happened 3 years ago!

Also, is it weird that I was more into Asher's and Landon's relationship than Breslin and their individual or group relationships?! Like I actually wanted the guys to ride into the sunset without Breslin. I was so into the guys and their dynamics that shifted from being strangers to friends to tiny jealousies and to finally a relationship. I enjoyed reading how cute they were with each other and I just wanted more of that! This is really surprising for me because I was introduced into MM through the Featherstone Academy series by K.C Kean and like I said earlier, the MM there was primarily playing along with the female lead's fantasies without giving more emphasis to the guys individual relationships with each other. It was more sexual and less "relationshippy" which wasn't the case in this duet!

I'm surprised that Ashley Jade thought that "this duet would be a gamble" and that "a lot of people would turn their noses at this kind of story"! I know everyone has their own preferences but if you're someone who's purposely not interested to read anything MM or even anything with poly content just because you think it's "ew"..I don't know what to tell you but that you're seriously missing out on really good material! Eventhough this series was a gamble, I loved it and I can't believe I left it on my TBR for so long because I devoured the two books in less than a day!

Initially, I wanted to give this duet 4 stars because of Breslin and I'm sorry, she just annoyed me. But, the 5 stars is for Asher and Landon who brought a whole new world to me! What they had for each other was too damn sweet and crazy amounts of sexy and well..I'm addicted.

"I guess this situation just got even more complicated then."...I lean down until my lips are ghosting over his ear. "Because I'm not only fighting for her now. I'm fighting for the both of you."

Gaaaahhh....There is no #TeamLandon, #TeamBreslin, or #TeamAsher anymore....there is only #TeamComplicated. If after reading this half of the duet, you don't completely fall for all three, you need your head checked. No one, and I mean no one does beautifully broken characters like this Author and I read this as if my life depended on it. The relationship evolved into one of the hottest potential heartbreaks I have ever experienced...These characters pulled out the stops and we saw so much more of who they were and I fell deep for each and every one. I can't even explain to you how good of a book this was, I can only tell you that you need to read it.

"It feels like my heart is being pulled in two different directions and I'll never be whole again-because I need them both; in equal measures, for entirely different reasons."

My feels exploded the entire time, the pull and magnetism between these characters is as intoxicating as a drinking binge on New Year's Eve, left me stumbling and smiling like a lunatic. Breslin showed her fire, Asher showed his vulnerability, and much to my lady part's happiness, Landon got Alpha and burned up my kindle...and I mean, I actually felt my whole body tingle through some of their scenes...not even kidding. Whew....

"One sets my soul on fire and rocks me to my core, breaking me into a thousand tiny pieces over and over. The other is the balm that heals me and puts me back together again."

With so much against them being together, you don't even anticipate all the events that transpire towards the end...at one point I was crying like a toddler that lost his teddy bear. I became so completely invested in this triangle, that there was no possibility other than how it ended up. The ending? Not telling....But I have to tell you that this Author is a master of Romantic imagery...she will take a tiny piece of a backstory and weave it in so that it packs a punch to your heart and leaves you reeling and wanting your own Asher and Landon....and sidenote: I want to be Breslin when I grow up...True Story. My favorite thing about this book is the contented, sated feeling (yet, breathless and exhausted) that you get after reading a book of this caliber....Going in my top reads of the year, no doubt. I thank the Author both for writing and allowing me to review!!

A beautifully written book full of angst

When I read the first book. my heart broke for Breslin and I am normally very picky about female characters in a book, but Breslin I just got right away and connected with her. I actually liked her more than the two male characters in the book. Again, another thing that normally doesn't happen for me.

Complicated Hearts is a very fitting title because my feeling for this book were very complicated through out. Ashley Jade writes so beautifully, I was so sucked in with her words and her story, but yet scared to see how it would end.

I will not give anything away, but I will say I'm probably on my own little island over here by my lonesome, but I would have liked it to end differently for the characters, but that's a good thing I am not the author because I'd probably make people angry if I ended it the way I would have wanted lol.

Over all a good story, very good writing, and the characters all touched me in their own ways, but I am for sure Team Breslin. In my opinion she stole the show, like I said I really connected with her and I really just wanted to hug her and tell her she is enough.

This is book two so make sure you read book one first. Book one ended in a cliffhanger so I couldn't wait to jump into this story.

As I loved book one my expectations were pretty high for book two. I needn't have worried as Ashley Jade did not disappoint me. She gave me so much more.

I sat down to read to read a few pages. I should have known from book one that it would be unputdownable. I ended up reading this in one sitting. The twists and turns had me in a tizzy. I certainly didn't see them coming.

I'm not gonna say anything about the storyline. I love the characters and the storyline and don't want to ruin it for anyone.

This is a brilliantly written, heart breaking and angsty story. Heed the warning. Having said that if you like strange and unconventional then I highly recommend you read this duet.

This duet will stay with me for a long time. ❤️

The 2 stars are only for the hot as fuck MMF sex. Otherwise this book was bad. Like ACTUALLY FUCKING BAD. 😬😬

The whole book was moving on a foundation of miscommunication and jealousy. There was no plot!!!! I am so mad I could kill these characters (and that's big considering I like fictional people much more than I like real ones). Phew😪

My fingers find the spot on their wrists where their pulse is beating rapidly. I close my eyes as the beautiful rhythm and melody coarse through me, wrapping around my heart and squeezing.
“What are you doing?” Asher questions.
I look at them both and smile.
“Listening to my favorite song.”

Amendment- I didn't actually mean it when I said I could kill all the characters cuz I loved Landon. He was a sweetheart. The rest I could still kill. 😒

4 stars!

This book. Oh, my, God! I'll try to express myself with more words, but I'm having a hard time rolling all my emotions into sentences. I finished this book yesterday and was at a loss for words. I feel like this story, these characters embedded themselves into my heart. I loved every single word.

“You gonna fight for her?” I ask, fearing the answer. The silence between us is as deep as the Pacific before he grinds out, “Yes.” He props himself up on his elbows and the muscle in his jaw works. “Are you?” I lift my chin, refusing to break eye contact. “‘Til the day I die.”

This triangle is unique from the get go. Complicated is an understatement. If I'm not reading dark books, I love angsty, heart-breaking, unconventional love/romance. Ashley Jade had the deck stacked, poker face on, she counted cards all the way to my dark soul. There's something to be said about a book that makes your stomach flip, your breaths uncontrollable, and your throat dry up. I felt like I was swallowing glass. Every single word had me on edge, my heart was so full, yet I couldn't let out a breath until I had devoured every page. I wanted the book to end, but I never wanted it to. All the feeling. All the emotions. I cried. Yes, I cried. Don't tell anyone, but this book ripped me to shreds and filled my soul with a warming that I can't explain. Pushing and pulling. Banter. I couldn't read fast enough. Love/Hate That thin line that makes you grip your kindle. I couldn't. I wouldn't choose. Three hearts burning, a fierce fire, flames that couldn't be TAMED by conventional thinking. It's was beautifully designed to make you want it all, there was no right choice in this situation.

Something in my heart both cracks and mends with the realization. The realization that you can love two people at the same time. But you can only choose one to live for.

If you love angst and triangles I highly recommend. This will go on my favoites list for 2017! And these characters will live on in my heart. Fucking Phenomenal!

Desperate situations require Desperate Measures. This highly anticipated read of 2017 was much needed to provide a closure to the readers left hanging by book 1. Ashley doesn't dissappoint in this section of the story. The Queen of Angst lives up to her reputation if creating an epic fuckfest , which i really enjoyed.
Breslin is still stuck between Asher and Landon. Her heart conflicted and twisted. No idea how she will solve this puzzle of her life.

that's the thing about falling... Sooner or later you're bound to hit something. And there's no way of knowing what the damage from the impact will be until it happens. And there are some falls—you just can't recover from.

The damage is already done , all three suffer heartache and anguish . None of them left untouched.
The story has many twists and turns. There's a parallel story of kit and becca and preston too.
The feels are major .you go from crying and hollering to weeping and sniffling, all in one book.
It's an emotional rollercoaster and you'll love every minute of it.

I'm gonna love you harder than anyone ever has before,” he shouts above the rain. “The only thing you have to do is let me.”
“We're gonna go down in flames,” I argue. He leans in. “Then let's make one hell of an explosion.”

I had too many emotions reading this duet. There is a lot of angst. I never read a book that made me feel too many things at the same time. I went blind when I chose this reading. With a cleared and opened mind, unprejudiced. Is the best way to read this kind of themes.

I loved these guys. But my favorite is Landon. He is everything! I loved him! Is the wise guy, cared for others, and gave the best of himself. Asher is the kind of love and hate guy here. Sometimes I wanted to hug him, but also smack him. I felt compassion for Breslin and wanted to shake her to take out all the fog in her eyes and mind. Overall, I ached for these guys. But when they were together... Damn! Those hot and steamy scenes got me goosebumps.

Ashley did an awesome job. I have any doubt that she put her soul in this project. I could feel it. The way she delivered every situation in this story was fantastic. And made me think about the relationships, love and how much sucks when people make judgments without all the elements. People are free to love whoever they want. Because love is not a feeling, it's a decision. And it's free. When you decide to really love somebody, no matter what people say or thing, you are free.

This book is kind of special. I want to treasure it in my heart like the gem that is. <3

Oh there was some complications

I really enjoyed the first book in this series. However in Complicated Heart there was nothing likable about Breslin. She was whiny, indecisive and was downright cruel to Asher. Yes, I get it he hurt you but to know that he still cares about you and you constantly mean to him without giving him a chance to explain what happen three years ago was just infuriating to read. While reading I was more interested in growing relationship between Asher and Landon. Even with them fighting with their feelings and jealousy about Breslin you could real feel that they cared for each other on a deeper level.
The twist of the story, which in wouldn't spoil, was not what I expected and added to the complication of this polyamorous relationship.
I absolute adored Kit. She was loyal to her friend but also called Breslin out when needed, even when her life took an unexpected turn. And so glad she get her own book. Yes, there' a HEA but I can't help but think I would've been more satisfied if Breslin was out the picture.

Okay, so I ship Landon and Asher hard! HARD! So in the beginning of this I was just annoyed that Breslin was getting in the way - like man, stop whining about everything and go back to Europe! lol.

In saying that, I really hoped I’d come to like her.

Landon takes a deep breath. “Cliff notes version is that Becca’s been cheating in Kit.”
Kit mumbled something between sobs and Breslin wraps her arms tighter around her. “That fucking bitch.”
I take a step closer to her. “Tell me about it. I knew she was trouble the first time I saw her at a bar.”
Breslin’s eyes shoot daggers at me. “You motherfucker.”
I blink. “What...”
“Jesus,” Landon interjects. She wasn’t cheating on Kit with Asher.” He swallows. “It was Asher’s brother.” His gaze slides towards me. “You are literally the worst at explaining things.”

The truth of this, is that damn I never liked Breslin very much. I loved Landon and Asher, but I don’t know if I ever felt like she deserved them - she was so whiny and stubborn. So yes, a star taken off for her.

But otherwise this duet was super enjoyable!

Complicated Hearts Book 1 -> 4 Stars
Complicated Hearts Book 2 -> 1 Star
Duet -> 2 Stars

This review contains a CONDESCENDING opinion, some ranting and A LOT of SPOILERS ! ! !

! ! Please, read at your own discretion ! !

Overall Opinion: I really liked the first book . The pace of the story was OK and I liked Asher (H1) and Landon (H2). I liked their friendship and how it turned into something more. Breslin (h), on the other hand, is a completely different story.. Although I didn't like her, I could empathise with her (up to a certain point that is). I don't want to imagine what it feels like to be cheated on, and I can imagine it having an influence on you, but I condemn the way she is treating Landon. My only thoughts were: "it's been years! Time to grow up *$#$" ! (please add any swearword you prefer). Looking back on my reading: I'm glad her parts are mostly about her trip and her inner turmoil (The girl is whining non-stop and drowning in self-pity; so those parts I just skimmed) and not so much about her interaction with the heroes of the story.

Now the second book left me speechless (for a couple of minutes) WTF did I just read? Believe me, I have a vivid imagination, but this story was, even for me, way OTT. The whole Kyle scenario: his motive for the blackmail, showing up at the hospital, escaping police custody, school shooting. I mean: REALLY!? But hey at least, it is realistic (* snort * one event, maybe. This scenario, I think NOT! ).
Secondary problem: my antipathy for Breslin only grew and even Landons behaviour was disappointing. The whole "relationship" was a farce, only Asher, kind of, tried to make it work three-way.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: ! SPOILER ALERT !
This is the story of Asher, Landon and Breslin. Asher dated Breslin in high school, they were each other's first love until he is blackmailed and discovers he might like boys a little bit more than he is supposed to. After prom, he doesn't tell her about the blackmail, but, hoping she will stand by him and help him figure things out, he does tell her about his confusion. He also implies that he cheated on her and Breslin breaks all contact (and starts her year-long self-pity whining act).

Three years later, Breslin is seeing Landon (she doesn't want to call it a relationship and she's also very secretive about her past.) Landon wants her to open up to him and give him an honest chance, but Breslin refuses. Even better, she will be leaving for Europe on a school trip. He wants to wait for her but she tells him to forget about her and to see other people. Landon meets Asher and, following Breslin's advice, he lets Asher in. Their friendship grows into something more and when they hook up, Breslin arrives. (This is book 1)

Book 2 consists of all the miscommunication (or lack of communication ) between them, Breslin's whining and Landon's insecurities; combined with the storyline of a psychopath (Kyle), a brother and best friend who are getting cheated on and a dying parent.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Asher, Landon and Breslin's POV.

H1 (Asher) rating: 4.5 stars.
He is the character I sympathised with the most. Being beaten as a child, blackmailed as a high school student, too scared and inexperienced to open up about the blackmail (and having no one to turn to). At the moment he needs the girl he loves the most, he gets dumped by her. Years later, when he wants to come clean about his motives in high school, his self-righteous ex-girlfriend doesn't give him a chance to explain. I just didn't understand why he didn't push her more. He knows she always runs away instead of dealing with things; but if he wants them to have some kind of decent relationship in the future, she will have to face the music.

H2 (Landon) rating: 3 stars.
I liked him in the first book, but not so much in the second. I liked how he pursued a relationship with Breslin (even if she didn't deserve him at the time) and how he opened up to Asher. I didn't like his insecurities in the second novel though. He suggested the polyamorous relationship but is afraid of Asher and Breslin solving their problems and leaving him behind. As long as he is the centre of their threesome, he is OK with it though. (selfish little bastard) BUT he grows up and sees how dysfunctional their relationship is. He admits his mistakes, his jealousy and his insecurities and tries to work things out.

h (Breslin) rating: 0 stars.
I absolutely disliked the #*$%# (please add the vilest insult you know). She is one of the most self-righteous creatures to walk the earth. As said, I can sympathise with her feelings about being cheated on, but there comes a time you have to grow up and stop whining about your past.
When she found out about Landon and Asher, I nearly lost it! Landon knows about her past and is now cheating on her with Asher to hurt her. Or even better: Asher found out where she is, knows about Landon and is hooking up with him to hurt her. Paranoia much? (just asking). Landon doesn't know shit about her ex-boyfriend, except the fact that he cheated on her. What he does know, however, is that she is not interested in a relationship and that he is supposed to forget about her and to see other people. Asher, on the other hand, doesn't even know where she is (she dumped him and left town, chose a different college than the one she told him about and never contacted him again). How Is he supposed to know about Landon, one might wonder.
How can a raisin-sized brain like hers come up with such accusations?
Or how about this: she breaks up with Landon and ignores his calls and texts for weeks. And when she finally comes back (after she thinks he blocked her on his phone, it is time for her to panic ), she just uses the key (yep, the one he gave her when he was still pursuing the relationship) to enter his apartment. Please help me out here! Someone blocks you on their phone; ergo they no longer want to see nor hear from you. How can it ever be OK to just walk into their apartment without knocking?
And then there is the constant whining, the running away to avoid the truth, her mistreating of Asher and his sentiments, but also her self-pitying when she thinks no one is considering her feelings, etc.
It's been a while since I had so much antipathy towards a heroine. She completely ruined the story for me. Pfff

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: the h is on the pill and somewhere is mentioned that they were all tested, so no use of condoms.

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama:

Cheating:

Separation:

Closure: unsatisfactory. They get a HFN ending and I was hoping for a HEA.
We only get a glimpse a couple of months ahead. The men kiss in public and that is about it.
No clue about the dynamics of their relationship or how easy/difficult it is to make things work. How do they cope with keeping their relationship a secret? (since H1 is playing in the NFL). H2 becomes a rockstar, so there will be groupies. How do H1 and h react to that? Will they have children and if they do; will those children have 2 daddies or will each of the men have their "own" kids?
What is the function of an epilogue? Answering questions that may arise in the minds of your readers, perhaps? (just asking; * massive eye roll * )

would recommend to
- readers who only care about smut and not about the story
- readers who do not care about OTT plots
- NONE of my friends

1st Book ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2nd Book ⭐⭐⭐
Complete Duet ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The first book was so strong for me. I devoured it. I loved reading about the loss of one relationship, the struggle of one, and the beginning of another. Landon and Asher's development was really beautiful to read. They were probably my favorite couple out of the three. Two completely different personalities balancing eachother out. I loved that they were honest with eachother too.

The second book took me a little longer to get thru. I felt like there were too many side conflicts that really took away from story. I was really invested in how the relationship would work between Bre, Landon and Asher. Bre's actions were frustrating tho. She forgives Landon right away but refuses to hear Asher out even tho they did the exact same thing. She was a hypocrite for accepting Landon but not Asher. I also hated that it took so long for the truth to come out and the events at the end of the story again were not needed.

Now the sex was 🔥🔥🥵🔥🔥!! There was MF, MM, and MMF. They were probly the hottest I've read when it comes to MMF, Ashley Jade really hit the spot!!

Well, this one was a bit better than the first one. I liked this, but there was too much miscommunications, and unnecessary drama. If you’ve read my previous reviews you know I love drama, but I love well done drama.

The relationship drama in this book, in my opinion, was just dumb. Everything would’ve been resolved between Asher and Breslin, if he had told her the truth about Kyle. Also, I understood Landon's insecurities, but everything would’ve been easier if he had just talked it out with Breslin and Asher.

I’ve never been in a poly relationship, but what I understand of it, is that you have to be honest with yourself and your partners; you also need to have a lot of trust and communication. This "throuple" lacked a lot of that, but nonetheless the book was interesting and easy to read.

I enjoyed this book the most when I was halfway-through almost reaching the end. When, you know, the plot twist happens with Kyle and all of that. I didn’t like the fact that after getting shot in one lung by Kyle, Landon woke up because Asher talked to him. I was like, what?? Literally, the page before, they were telling us how Landon was at risk and the possibilities of him waking up being low. I just didn’t get it. Was Landon sleeping beauty, and Asher the freaking prince? I have no idea.

I feel the ending was a bit (very much) rushed. I would’ve liked things to be explained better, for the characters (and readers) to be allowed to process all of the emotions, and I think the relationship between Breslin, Landon, and Asher could’ve been better developed.

Anyways, I’m tired. It’s very late in my country and I wan't to sleep. The ending was cute, but this book was nothing special to me. I’ve read better poly books.

Welp, I almost fell asleep writing this review, but I did it. Yay! Goodnight from me to you (in whatever part of the world you’re in. Here it’s 3:03 after midnight, so I guess night? Early morning? Idk. We say madrugada in Spanish).

I'll admit I was a disbeliever in this story when I first heard about it. But Ashley was bound and determined to win me over. It's not a genre that I enjoy reading, at all. Because of her determination, she hooked me with the first book. The characters where embedded in my heart. It blew my ever loving mind.

Then it ended it with a cliffhanger, and I could not wait to get my hands on the second part of Breslin, Asher, and my boy Landon's story.

Then she started book two. And I had the pleasure of being one of her beta readers. She would send me several chapters at a time. Sometimes, just a chapter. And I'm not gonna lie, I was like an addict waiting for my next fix. I almost had jitters just anticipating when I'd receive the next instalment.

This time she didn't just blow my mind. She rocked my world and obliterated my heart. Mad love for this author and her ability to bring so much emotion to her words, and make these characters part of my life.

It's not your typical love story. And quite often, Breslin, Landon, and Asher hated each other. Fought with each other. But holy god, could they ever LOVE each other.

I'm so blessed to have experienced this journey with these characters. And I'm a little sad that it's over. But one thing's for sure, this is hands down Ashley's best work to date, and I'm not saying that lightly because I've absolutely LOVED everything I've read from this author so far.

Complicated is much more fun than easy :)

Hmmm I'm not sure how I feel about this one.

This book is hard for me to review because I'm not sure how I feel about it. On one hand I liked it and on the other hand I didn't.
With the first book I really enjoyed Asher and Landon and I felt something building, but with this book I feel like that connection was slowly going away. I really love Landon he's my favorite and my heart breaks for him so many times in this book. Even after everything he goes through and the guilt Breslins feels, I feel like he's still the odd man out. There's a part close to the end where Asher says Breslin has his whole heart even the part he gave away. I feel like Landon never really got that back.
For me it felt like both Asher and Breslin loved Landon because he was comfortable, and I think Landon deserves more than that.
Overall the book was good I just felt that Landon got jipped.

3.5 Triad Stars

A well written story in which, I enjoyed certain aspects more than others. I didn't like how Asher's "secret" from Breslin was omitted for so long. It played into unnecessary drama, that made me resent Breslin's character more than I should have. I love a good plot twist, and there was one I definitely didn't see coming, reveled by Kyle, towards the end. All I can say is "daddy," was an effing sicko!

I wish I enjoyed the dynamic of this story more, and that we were able to see a bit more unity between two of the three main characters. The ending didn't sit quite right with me. Maybe it's just the dynamic of this relationship in general, that just didn't feel cohesive enough for me at the stories end. A happy for now type ending...
