Amsterdam, eind jaren zeventig. Eén verkeerde opmerking over ontwikkelingshulp, werklozen of kr ...more

**Warning: this text may contain spoilers** Teun is kwaad.

Knowing more about a person's upbringing helps you better understand their personalities and traits. As an avid watcher of the programs that the author presents on Dutch television; 'Keuringsdienst van Waarde' and 'De monitor', I would like to know more about the presenter's personal views. in the former program the goal is mostly to discover the truth behind all the promises that the food packages make, while in the latter, a more broader and idealistic goal is pursued, with the help of the sto ...more

c 2017. read for leeskring

It calls itself a novel, but reads like memoirs of the I-person's childhood, attending primary school in a low-income neighborhood of Amsterdam.

The short book begins and ends with his father, and indeed seems to focus on the father. The author tries to be humorous, or perhaps sarcastic, but it didn't make me laugh or even smile.

You can read it as one of the genre of 'white kid goes to minorities school' or 'black kid goes to white school', and it gives some useful impre

...more
