*2.5 stars*

I don't actually want to rate this book 2.5 stars because it had so much potential, but it took me ages to finish it and I had issues with the pacing, so it's time to face reality.

When I started this book I was deeply, deeply excited. First of all, we get a contemporary romance with an Indian girl as the MC, which was a pleasant surprise for me because the cover is vague and the names didn't give me a hint. I can't ever recall reading a romance with a girl of Indian heritage as an MC

READ THIS BOOK!!!!!

No one, and I mean NO ONE can write love like M.K. Her brand of "love" isn't the shallow, superficial kind. Nope. M.K. writes true-blue, heart-squeezing, soul-deep love that will bring tears to your eyes. (At least it did to mine. No joke, I cried, like, four times during this book)

I liked that the book starts where most other romances end, with the guy and the girl in blissful euphoria because they have each other and that's all they need. I knew the "other shoe" was going to

Great writing! The characters are round, have flaws, there's something at stake for each of them, and there's conflict, whether internal or external.

I was pleasantly surprised to find five references to either Jane Austen or her novels; she's my favorite author, so this automatically made me like the novel characters, too, because they knew about her. Even the very first sentence is reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice: "It is a cardinal rule young girls do not vacation alone."

Drawback, the charac

I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

I really enjoyed this story. While I have to admit that have a five year timeline was a long stretch for a book, I really think that Schiller pulled it off.

Kiran is awesome. She doesn't really take crap from anyone, doesn't really know where she fits in to life and despite her reservations, doesn't really let that hold her back.

When she meets Mason, not on

4 stars!

A beautifully romantic story that asks the question - what if you met the right person at the wrong time?

Kiran and Mason are both holidaying solo in Florida. They are staying at the same hotel, both needing to get away from the real world for a little bit while they prepare for the next stage of their lives - Kiran is making major life decisions about her career while Mason has just finished Marine boot camp and is about to deploy overseas.

It’s the absolute wrong time for either of them

8 days to fall in love? 5 years of heartache and 1 lifetime of True love!
Wow! I was beyond flabbergasted with this novel! Its not your typical love story, its so so much more! The way the author tells the story is of epic proportions!

Eight Days in the Sun is a story of healing and acceptance. And it will make you cry. Around halfway through the story, when I could finally see the direction where the story was headed, I knew MK Schiller was going to make me cry by the end. Oh, the ending.

I loved both Mason and Kiran, each unique personalities so perfect for each other. Fans of insta-love stories will gobble this one up. Are eight days in the sun really enough to build a foundation for a lifelong relationship? I say, YES! We'r

I will start with the fact that MK Schiller is a new author for me to read -- and -- as a result of reading Eight Days in the Sun, I can guarantee that I will be reading more of her books in the future!!!

Kiran Shenoy returns to her small hometown of Juniper, Florida. She has a few decisions to make in regards to what she want to do in her future. At the same time, Mason Cutler returns to Juniper, Florida also. He just joined the Marines and is having a short vacation before he gives his next 5 y

There was not a minute of this book that I didn't love. From the moment Kiran and Mason step into the hotel, until the last moment we see on the beach. EVERYTHING was so perfect! There were so many endearing things in this book that really just moved me in so many ways, MK did such a good job at bringing together quite a few different obstacles, and she did it so well. I love that Mason was a Marine and that Kiran was a writer, that was one of my favorite things. I have such a soft spot for anyt ...more

This was an emotional read. Told in alternating POV, it was an interracial romance though there were hardly any references to racial differences. Though Kiran and Mason spent only 8 days together, the love and protectiveness for each other was palpable. They just felt right for each other. The latter part of the book was really emotional and I really admired Kiran and felt that she really grew up.

**I received an ARC of this book courtesy of Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review**

This is one of those books that was completely different from what I expected. While technically I can say the book description on Goodreads and Amazon is true, it makes the story sound so much more light-hearted than it is. It still has some fun and lightness, but there is so much more to the story. A depth that was very unexpected. I loved this book!

As always, I’m going to do th

Not knowing a word of English, MK Schiller came to America at the age of four from India. Since then, all she’s done is collect words. After receiving the best gift ever from her parents—her very own library card—she began reading everything she could get her greedy hands on. At sixteen, a friend asked her to make up a story featuring the popular bad boy at school. This wasn’t fan fiction…it was f ...more
