This was my second read by Markoff and I just can't believe such a short thing made as much damage to my being as it did. It was captivating from the very first page and it managed to do the unthinkable: It made me forget about ACOTAR/ACOMAF as I read it. (I haven't been able to read anything due to the release of ACOWAR that has me thinking about nothing else.) Markoff has what feels like an effortless ability to help you immerse yourself

First of all, I would like to thank E.M. Markoff who sent me a copy of her novella in exchange of an honest review. It was a great pleasure to discover your writing and world!

To Nurture & Kill is a prequel for the Ellderet Series series but can be read as a standalone. I was a little bit afraid to be lost as I knew the first book of the series was already published but I hadn't read it. I was wrong as this story is set fifteen years before the Ellderet Series, so the characters and the setti

I was sent an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve always enjoyed reading novellas about a character’s past, it just makes me feel so much more connected to them and usually answers some of the questions that I have about them. I loved reading about Eutau and how he came to be the guardian of Kira! I really enjoyed how I could read about Kira as an infant, toddler and young child. Reading of how Kira struggled for being different really brought me to tears, it just broke me! B

E.M. Markoff sent me a copy of this book. This is my honest review.

I fell in love with the Deadbringer, so I was very excited to read the prequel. It took me a few months to actually get around to reading it (I blame life), but once Iopened it I couldn't put it down. I loved being able to peek into the past of Eutau and Kira's early days. Eutau's promise to his sister brought him no end of trouble, and his reaction to raising his nephew and dealing with his remarkable abilities was wonderfully d

This is a prequel to The Deadbringer (which I haven't read yet but I will!) and it focuses on Eutau trying to take care of baby Kira. (My eyes were pretty moist through a lot of that.) Also, the diversity is great.

I had the opportunity to Beta Read To Nurture and Kill and I was very happy to be back in this world and characters that I got t to know in The Deadbringer, which To Nurture and Kill is the prequel to that story.

In To Nurture and Kill we meet a younger Eutau and a very, very young Kira, precisely, when Eutau's sister dies, leaving Kira to his care and how this event changes his life forever. Other characters are introduced and new sit

As much as I enjoyed The Deadbringer, I love-love-loved To Nurture and Kill. This novella paints such a detailed picture of a young Eutau, and I’m so glad to know him better because of it; learning about his past decisions really helped me to understand the strong bond he and Kira have in The Deadbringer. As with Markoff’s writing style, there were some surprises that made me squeal with delight, and others that made me gasp in suspens
