Wow. What a ride. Clocking at 480 pages long, this is a very heavy yet sumptuous tome, filled with a riveting tale of a common soldier's rise to glory. The book itself is loaded with breathtaking and detailed illustrations detailing the world of the Court of the Dead, and the off-kilter, gory, dark and cruel world the main characters themselves inhabit. This book has serious echoes to the following works: Tamsyn Muir's the Locked Tomb, Overlord (the anime), Hellraiser and weirdly enough, Dungeon Keeper.
