Geocentrism 101: An Introduction to the Science of Geocentrism, 4th edition, Paperback

How do you cram over five hundred years of science and history into a small book of just over 250 pages and not only make it easy to read but as understandable as Reader s Digest? Well, that feat has been accomplished by author Robert Sungenis in an easy-to-carry paperback book on a 6 x 9 frame. Whereas his massive three volume set, Galileo Was Wrong, now in its eleventh edition, is over 2400 pages long, the best and boldest of that famous set has been distilled down for you into less than one tenth the size. The title is, Geocentrism 101: An Introduction into the Science of Geocentric Cosmology. Although the book is recommended for high school, college and adult, it is for anyone who has had a hunger to know what all the fuss is about concerning modern heliocentric versus geocentric cosmology. And believe me, it is a real page-turner! If you were ever reticent to read a book because there were too many words per page, or because it had a tiny eye-straining font and very few pictures and diagrams, well, never fear, Geo 101 is here! As for pictures, believe it or not, there are 450 of them, which amounts to an average of two per page. Many of the pictures are photocopies of the pages of the books from which various quotes of famous scientists have been extracted, so that you, the reader, can see for yourself what the author actually said and the context in which he said it. As regards equations, there are only six, and only three are needed to be explained, which we do for you in simple language. If you can add 2 + 2 and get 4, you can understand our explanation of these equations. Best of all, much of the mystery of cosmology is eliminated since the book comes with a CD-ROM that contains 66 detailed animations depicting everything from the geocentric design of Stonehenge to stellar parallax to the astounding alignments of the cosmic microwave radiation with our Earth. There are simply no better cosmological animations available in the world today. The CD also contains a PDF version of the book, which has the full-color images of the 450 pictures in Geocentrism 101. The book also contains photocopies of the actual hand-written letters from famous scientists such as Albert Michelson, Hendrik Lorentz, and George Fitzgerald, which we obtained after many hours of search in the microfiche files at the Niels Bohr Library in College Park, Maryland. Geocentrism 101 shows that geocentrism is permitted by the three main schools of physics, by direct statements from their inventors, Isaac Newton, Ernst Mach and Albert Einstein. It shows that all the previous proofs for heliocentrism, e.g., stellar parallax and aberration, the Foucault Pendulum, retrograde motion, and many more, have all been discredited. It shows how Einstein s Special Theory of Relativity was invented for the express purpose of hiding the results of the 1887 Michelson-Morley experiment that showed the Earth was standing still in space; and how the General Theory contradicts it and allows the Earth to be motionless in the center of the universe. It shows how galaxies, gamma ray bursts and quasars are all geocentrically oriented. It shows how the three space probes (COBE 1990; WMAP 2001; Planck 2009) showed that both the dipole and quadrupole of the Cosmic Microwave Radiation are aligned with the Sun-Earth ecliptic and the Earth s equator, making us the center of the universe. It shows the fatal flaws of present-day cosmological models, such as the Big Bang theory, and the untold reasons it was invented to keep the Earth out of the center. Now, you might think that a book and CD like this would cost about thirty dollars or more. But we have made it as affordable as possible. For only $19.95, the cost of an outing for two at McDonalds, you can be the owner of one of the most concise and sophisticated treatments of geocentric cosmology available today.

This is one of Sungenis's more recent books defending Geocentrism, the belief that the Earth is the unmoving center of the universe. In the author's words:
- P2: "Did you know that experimental evidence from over one hundred years ago to the present day shows the Earth is motionless in space?"
- P38:  "Theoretically, the 5 sextillion stars in the universe could be placed in such a way that they would counterbalance the gravity of the sun and keep it a safe distance from the Earth, and accordingly, the earth would act as the center of mass for the universe."

Yup, this is not your standard cosmology book. Cosmic background radiation is not evidence for the big bang (Chapter 11), but it _is_ evidence that the earth is the unmoving center of the universe (Chapter 10). In fact, Stonehenge aligns with geocentric cosmic background radiation story (P217).

I had no idea that there were still advocates for the luminiferous ether (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminife... ), but the author sure is.  P129 "This leaves us with only one solution that answers both the 1887 Michelson-Morley and 1925 Michelson-Gale experiments -- the universe, which contains ether, is rotating around a motionless Earth.  It is the only solution that answers all the empirical evidence". One wonders which health supplements Sungenis believes might best uphold the four humors.  :-)

Einstein takes a beating in this book. As an example from P138-139:  "Hence, the Special and General theories of Relativity seem to suffer from internal contradictions, and that is because they are both based on a fundamental error -- a moving earth.  It was only a matter of time before the errors of each theory were exposed.  Unfortunately for the rest of the world, the more Einstein's errors were exposed, the more the press and academia sought to cover them up; and the cover-up is the very reason Einstein remains as the hero of modern science today."

Perhaps most annoying are all of the quotes from many famous scientists, mathematicians, and philosophers, since these are selectively extracted from their context in order to press the words into the service of geocentrism.  This is done throughout the book, and in a section in the back entitled "Famous Scientists Support a Geocentric Universe".  The name dropping includes Einstein, Hawking, Poincaré, Mach, Fresnel, Lorentz (of course), Arthur C. Clark, Hubble, Lawrence Krauss, Martin Gardner, and Bertrand Russell.

While he presents his views as being informed by evidence, they seem to actually be motivated primarily by Biblical considerations. It's easy to reject the Copernican principle, "One only needs to read Genesis 1 with an open mind and a willing heart." (P192). And he concludes his arguments on P218-219 with the idea that those who don't believe in geocentrism are "worshiping the creation rather than the Creator", quoting the apostle Paul to describe such people today as "those who suppress the truth by their wickedness".

Whether you want to adhere to the Ptolemaic model of the sun circling the earth, or the acentric model of relativity, the fact remains that the universe is Geocentric. And I believe Dr. Sugenis has done an admirable job of compiling the evidence to prove the fact that God created the earth to rest upon its foundations as the crowning achievement of all creation.
