1. Review for an ARC of the novella "Sometimes You Win" by Stacey Eaton, which I was provided with for an honest review, and I give 4.25 stars.

Working in the same building, they’d both been eyeing each other up for sometime, but had never spoken. I read Hold Em by Jacquie Biggar and it was an awesome book. Cassandra's father is a gambling man with a big problem. He tends to bet things he doesn't have thinking it won't matter because he is going to win. He plays against Matthew and Matthew happens to win.

This is a cute story that will hold your interest from the beginning to the very end and is so hard to put down. If the rest of the set is as good as this one you certainly won't want to miss it

My Review:

Due to my insanely busy schedule, shorter stories keep my bookworm cravings to a minimum as I'm able to devour them in an hour or two.

Hold 'Em is the first book I've read by Jacquie Biggar as well as the first in the Luck of the Draw:

Hold 'Em by Jacquie Bigger -
First off, let me start by saying this is my first read by Jacquie Bigger but definitely won't be my last. This was a very quick and easy read that had me interested from the start. I mean who doesn't love a good card game, especially one where the winnings make it "interesting" to say the least. This is one of your city girl meets country boy at its finest. Cassandra and Matthew are totally and completely opposites of one another. But that doesn't stop their hearts f

This was such a good book. Cassandra’s (Cass) father was in Las Vegas playing in a big poker game with Mathew (Matt) Shaughnessy from Texas as well as a few others. It was down to Matt and Cassandra’s father (who didn’t have enough to cover the call), but he bet and lost. Matt needed a fiancé to take to Texas for a week as his beloved grandmother didn’t have much time to live. Her great

I have never read a book by this author but found it to be well written and it held my interest. Professional poker player Matt Shaughnessy wins more than he expected when the one player did not have the means to totally pay up. This player a Canadian diplomat was short the wagered amount, he dug into his jacket pocket and pulled out a diamond ring. Asking Matt if he will accept this as a token? It was a beautiful ring and it was in the family for gener

I really enjoyed this heartwarming story. It's the day from hell for single mum Haley, anything the could go wrong had, until Devon jumps to her rescue. Devon is a partner in the security firm that has offices next door to where Haley works. He's noticed Haley and had been hoping for a chance to talk to her, so when the chance to play her knight in shining armour presented itself as she hid from her boss behind him he was able to offer his help further an

Haley Rosewood is working hard to make a better life for herself and her daughter. She is used to doing everything for herself and does not like help of any sort. When the handsome Devon wants to help her on the worst day of her life, she has no idea what to do. He is handsome and she cannot fathom why he has any interest in her. This is a happy for now ending. I laughed, I cried, and I wanted to slap Haley upside her head!

I read So Unlike Me by Nikki Lynn Barrett and oh the twist and turns and suspense while reading a love story between two unfold. There's so much left to the story, but there's not a cliffhanger like many tend to have. Nikki's writing has come a long way from the first book I read of hers and she wrote. This particular story pours out the emotions of everyone and it's while you're reading you tend to forget that it's a story as it seems like reality. This particular story is about two twin sister ...more

Sometimes You Win - Stacy Eaton

This was a great, sweet book. It’s every ones dream to win the lottery but to find love too makes it even greater. Author, Stacy Eaton, does a marvelous job of the chapters being in the two main characters point of view. It lends itself to see both points of view which is refreshing.

This story is about Haley, a single mother trying to make a living for her and her daughter. She works as a marketing designer to a very grumpy boss. The other main character is Devon.

I was given the first story of this box set, "Sometimes You Win" by Stacy Eaton, in exchange for an honest review.

I thought that the beginning really drew me in. I became engrossed in the storyline, and found it hard to put down. The tension and drama was great. However, I feel like towards the middle, the story hit a wall and just tapered off. The relationship between Haley and Devon was built up well, but I don't feel like the conflicts they had resolved themselves. The ending left me hanging,

This review is for Sometimes You Win by Stacy Eaton. First of all is there a more perfect guy out there then Devon?!? He's sweet, goes out of his way to do nice things for Haley, and just plain amazing!!

This story starts with Haley having a really bad day and our knight and shining armor is there to pick her up and help. And Haley, the poor girl just can't catch a break. But maybe, maybe that's changed now! These two hit it off and it's fun and flirty. Until something goes sideways. But never f

I read and reviewed So Unlike Me by Nikki Lynn Barrett for this boxed set. I always love anything that she writes and this story was no exception. One thing that I can say for sure about Nikki Lynn Barrett and So Unlike Me is that neither of them are predictable. Nikki is never predictable and her stories always have surprising twists to them. She's definitely one of my favorite romantic suspense authors. I'm excited to read the other stories as well. ...more
