***This is the sixth book in the series. First five books must be read in order to fully understand this story line.***
The king in my world fell and a new one slid into place. He wasn’t just. He wasn’t FAIR. He was cruel and hateful and twisted.
But I had this black king figured out. Or so I thought.
The game became complicated because my black king had some new moves and one of those involved my heart. Hope trickled in for the briefest of moments.
That is, until my black king and my heart sided against me. Those two didn’t play FAIR. They used me as their pawn in a bigger game—a game I didn’t know how to play.
The laws changed. I didn’t play by their rules anymore, for the queen makes up her own.
I am not a pawn. I am not theirs to use and abuse. I belong to nobody.
There are new players on the board and they don't play FAIR either. But the white king does know how to treat his queen. And together, they will make them pay.
All’s FAIR in love and war, right? Definitely not this time.
***Warning*** This Isn't Fair, Baby is a dark romance. Extreme sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for you.

This Isn’t Fair, Baby was one of my most highly anticipated reads so far this year. It is the sixth book in my favorite dark romance series, the War & Peace series, by my favorite dark romance author, K Webster. I knew before I even read it that I would love it. This series is a sure thing for me, and that’s why I’m so sad that the next book in the series will be the last. I know it has to end sometime, but I don’t want it to! Reading this book made me dread what is to come even more. It was full of villians, blood, violence, and sex just the way I like it. Engaging, entertaining, dark, and deranged, I loved every minute!
Vee is drugged, raped, starved, physically assaulted, and imprisoned by Esteban Rojas. When her lifelong friend, Oscar, comes to visit Esteban, he finds Vee drugged and naked in his brother’s house. Instead of helping her like he should, he betrays her in the worst way. The brothers want revenge on Diego Gomez, and they don’t hesitate to use Vee to get it. Her job is to seduce and kill their enemy at which time she will marry into the Rojas family, a dream of hers for as long as she can remember.
Once the drugs leave her system, Vee decides that Diego won’t be the only man she kills. She is going to take out Esteban and Oscar, too. Vee once cared about these men that now use her body, mess with her mind, and risk her life all to benefit them, but that just makes her crave vengeance all the more.
The only problem is that Diego isn’t at all what she expected. He seems to genuinely care for her, but she is sick of being a pawn in the games of men. Should she carry out her original plan or make a deal with the devil?
Vee is not my favorite heroine, but I enjoyed her story none the less. It went a lot different than I expected it to, but that just made it even better. We met Daddy Diego in Brie’s story and though he disgusted me at times, he was an intriguing character. I was so glad that we got to see who he really was in this book. He was the highlight of the story for me, and I enjoyed reading from his perspective.
As always, I admire the author’s ability to make me fall in love with villains and question my sanity. Esteban is one of the only characters in this series that I feel has no redeeming qualities. He is a sick, abusive rapist and thug that makes my skin crawl whenever he enters the scene. Although Oscar did some of the most unspeakable, unforgivable things to Vee, the author still somehow made me feel slightly sympathetic towards him in the end. It makes me almost certain that I need my head examined, but it’s the truth. That is something that I love about all of K. Webster’s writing. Things are usually not black and white, and characters are not just good or evil. So many shades of gray exist in between, and those are my favorite types of stories and characters.
This Isn’t Fair, Baby is sexy, fast paced, and deliciously dark. It’s fantastically written with a hot romance, dirty sex, and complex characters. As with every book in this series, the story drew me in and captivated me from the very first page. If you are a fan of this series, then you do not want to miss this one! If you love dark romance but haven’t yet given this series a try, go one-click This is War, Baby now and you can thank me later!
I was curious as to how the remaining Rojas would pay for their many sins. I couldn't wait!! I have to admit that I was surprise by the turn of events in this book and couldn't believe how much evil they were getting away with. They were definitely served their balls in such a messed up, twisted, cringe-worthy way, nothing but the best from K. Webster, and yet I felt twinges of sympathy.
"I don't want to be this person."
It's so sad because all of these characters have such a deep well of darkness within them, but some have allowed the darkness to eclipse their light. It has blinded and corrupted them so completely as to leave them unrecognizable.
Ok... on to Daddy Diego, who I was super excited to get to know... This man captured my attention in This is Me, Baby and somehow stole a piece of my heart in this story. Things you should know about Daddy D:
🍆 He's lethal 🍆 He's loyal, dedicated, determined, human, kind when necessary, considerate, protective, etc. 🍆 He is sexy AF!! 🍆 He's dirty and perverted and I loved him anyway. He loves to brag about his 10-inch eggplant *wink* 🍆 He is completely devoted to Vienna
"I'm coming, mi diablita. Just hold on for me, beautiful."
Although I've never been a fan of Vienna's, I did love her with Diego. I loved their instant connection, instant chemistry, and instant love. I even loved the way the author worked in the element of fate. These two were explosive together and as Diego was the cartel's King, there was no doubt that Vee was the Queen. Whatever she wanted, she got and Diego was with her every step of the way. Diego can have my back any time!
Release Date: April 18, 2017 Genre: Dark Romance POV: Dual - 1st person Steam: 4.5 out of 5 Book Type: Book 6 of the War & Peace series
Wow! Yet another fantastic and twisted tale from K. Webster!! I’m sad to know that I have only one read left out of this series. Even though there have been times when the scenes are so gruesome; I have devoured this series extremely quickly! This is dark romance at it’s finest!!!
In this sixth instalment, we have two people whom we would least expect to come together, grasp onto each other and never let go!! I don’t want to giveaway their names nor what transpires in this complicated alliance! Just know, I loved them, and their passion was exhilarating!!! What the heroine has gone through is terrifying and shocking, but she lives for vengeance instead of lying down and taking it! I loved this instalment so much!!!
Now I finally move to the seventh and last book in the series... it is very bittersweet for me!!
These Rojas boys are something else. The only good one died two books ago. I hope karma comes knocking, very soon.
Oh Daddy Diego, if it wasn’t for you I don’t know if I could’ve survived this one.
I love that she thwarts his attempts at intimidation every step of the way. He doesn’t realize when he said that if he’s the king, she’s his queen because they really are equals.
Vee gave me everything that I hoped Brie would be. She followed through and ended up being the real badass. She definitely earned the title of Queen of the Cartel.
Oh man, it’s the ultimate karma. They never wanted to marry her so …
The best kind of revenge is an eye for an eye.
Vee and Diego are no War and Baylee but they’re the next best thing.
That epilogue was a doozy. It all ends next and the big question is … will he or won’t he? I’m more then curious to find out.
“Good thing we’re villains because we’re going to walk out of here together. Equals. King and queen. Heroes are for fairytales.” I rest my head on his shoulder. “Our story is one from the horror section.”
I freaking LOVED book five (this is me, baby) but I'm pretty sure K Webster just topped from the bottom with book six, This Isn't Fair, Baby! I mean, fucking hell. This story was EVERYTHING I needed when I didn't actually know I needed it.
This story was amazingly well written and full of surprises! SO FREAKING KICK ASS, and cool! K Webster once again excels at full circle story telling, and still giving shocking moments when you don't think it's possible to be shocked by the woman anymore!
Agh, I want to say so freaking much, but I can't. Or K Webster will kill me. What I will say is, this book was fantastic. SO MANY PAY OFFS! So many unexpected things happening. So many characters shocking the hell out of me, and making me fall in love. So many characters I wanted to stab multiple times with a frozen cucumber!
This was so good. I highlighted 87 things that I want to make teasers with. If that isn't telling about how top notch the writing is in this book... then I don't know what to tell you, baby!
BUY THIS BOOK ON APRIL 18TH AND READ IT RIGHT THEN! If you haven't read the rest of the series, then you need to buy books 1-5 right now, and read them. If you haven't we can't be friends, because I don't want friends who don't know why cucumbers will never be the same after this series!!
Definitivno najbolja knjiga u serijalu! Daddy Diego and his anaconda - sjajan lik, uspeo da mi skine Gabea sa trona. Mi Diablita & Mi Motherfucker - presjajni zajedno. Oduševljena sam!
Trigger Warning: This is book contains violence, profanity, intense sex and drug abuse. This isn't advisable for readers below 18 years old and those who aren't into dark romance novels.
Diego and Oscar Rojas made a wrong decision to use Vee Berkley as a bait. They underestimated her strength and didn't even realize once their pawn reached on their enemy's territory, she turned into a Queen in her new kingdom. A deadly queen with the Colombian cartel king Diego Gomez. I'll stop here and keep this review short so I won't give more away about it. So many crazy things happened in this book.
K. Webster is amazing on writing plot twists, gore and anti-heroes. Holy shit. This book is so intense. Vee and Diego are fucking badass and twisted in their own way. Overall, each book in this series is consistently good.
Gah! Okay this was seriously one of my favorite books in the series. It was raw and dirty and sexy and amazing all at the same time! Before reading this, I was definitely concerned about Vee being able to hold her own as a heroine, but she proved me wrong, and THEN SOME! I just loved how feisty and awesome Vee was- making her one of my favorite book heroines! But lets be honest, I love ALL of the heroines in K.Webster's books!
I did NOT see most of the twists and turns in the book coming, and omg, I loved everything about them! (notice my overuse of the word 'love' in this review? yeah, the book was THAT good)
I'd be okay if K. Webster continued to write this series for at least 25 more years...just saying...
I can't believe this is the sixth book in the War & Peace series already, and my 12th K. Webster book. I can totally depend on this author to give me hot, dirty, dark and twisted stories/characters. So I trust her to deliver each and every time. Her stories are unpredictable, which is something I look for in the books I read (especially dark/suspense books). She will throw in a twist without you even realizing what is happening. She will make you think and come up with different theories to what is going on or will happen. I am always clueless, which isn't something I am very often.
This book is divided into three parts. I enjoyed the first two more than I did the last part. I will keep it as vague as possible so that I don't spoil anything. The main male character is different than what you would expect him to be in the business he is in. That was pretty refreshing in my opinion, the character really surprised me. As for Vee, her bad girl persona was more believable than the previous main female characters. However she did come across as spoiled, which is normal because of her upbringing, however it was a bit too much at times. There is just something about female characters who put themselves in extremely dangerous situations on purpose, which comes across as unbelievable. There were a couple of very messed up things happening, and I was so disappointed in one character specifically. You'll know who I mean when you read the book.
Overall I enjoyed the story, I only lowered my rating half a star because of the last part which was a bit disappointing. Otherwise it would've been a 4 star read. I loved the epilogue and I am curious to see where K. Webster will take this series. I am looking forward to it.
I can't tell you how much I love this series! First of all, it's the most gorgeous set of paperbacks that I have on my shelf. Second, every character has something to love about them.... even the villains! And third, the deeply tangled web that connects them all to one another ensnares all kinds of feels, shock and outrage, disbelief, heartbreak and restoration. And lastly, the erotic sex and intimacy within the relationships is simply panty-melting!
I was dying to get my hands on this book! I wanted to know more about Vee, what had happened to her, and how she was going to get out of the mess she was in. Esteban had her under his control and to do with as he pleases. He truly is an evil twisted monster.
When Oscar enters the scene, he devises a plan with Esteban to take back the home in which Diego Gomez has seized. This plan puts Vee in great danger because they plan to use her as their pawn. What will happen when they send her into the lion's den?
Enter Daddy Diego. Holy shitballs, ...this guy! I cannot wait for you all to get to know this man. He's sexy, demanding and perverted, incredibly dangerous, and has an inner gooey soft side for women. But what happens when an enemy's woman shows up on his doorstep? Will he be hospitable or vengeful?
WOW. Holy shhhhhh. It’s 3am and I am still awake because when a new KDub book lands on your kindle, you don’t go to sleep. You stay up half the night and you DEVOUR that bad boy. You fall for villains and slink into nasty dark places in your mind, and you do it with a smile on your face because she makes you love every single second of the ride. That’s what Kristi does, she brings out the darkness in you.
From the very beginning I knew that this book was different than the others in the series, though it still carries the inky black charm and brash seduction that the companion stories tell… this one offers a rare glimpse at what’s happening on the flip side of the war that has been building up. I sat there chewing my nails and anticipating a grand battle, I could feel a bloodbath coming and was terrified of who would end up falling victim and who would end up on top. All that I can say is, K Webster NEVER disappoints. She WILL give you thrills and chills, and she DOES do it in a way that you will never see coming… but she will never let you down with where the story will go.
“Deep down I wish I were fierce but also a princess. Why can’t I be pretty and breathe fire at the same time?”
I honestly thought that after Bay, Hannah and Brie that I couldn’t possibly love another female lead from the War and Peace series, because in my head I had obviously already given it all out to such deserving characters. I mean, I had all but built monuments to these broken and deadly women, they were each so different and yet so powerful and beautiful. Then Kristi gave me Vee. Vienna, who I had a real love/hate relationship with since she was first introduced. Vee, who always seemed a bit selfish and needy to me, is now my number one girl.
“The woman staring back at me is poisonous and vicious. She’s not a victim or a delicate flower. This woman has thorns and deadly venom.”
She’s just freaking mighty in this totally disarming and unique way, she has so many realistic qualities. She’s not a warrior princess or a raving lunatic, she’s not sweet as pie or a natural born seductress… she’s your best friend. She’s your scared neighbor, your frightened confidant, she’s the one constantly pining for what she shouldn’t want. And yet, she is a freaking queen. She’s regal. She demands attention and respect, she earns her place next to someone worthy and she doesn’t heel to anyone. She’s lethally cunning and so damn intelligent. I bow down to her. It’s simple, she’s my homegirl. I went from having about a thousand issues with her to just knowing deep down in my black soul that this girl was created JUST to be my best friend. She’s a disney adoring, knife wielding, mind f*cking, villain loving basass who stole my heart.
I won’t get into her story. I can’t. To be honest, it’s packed full of a thousand million little surprises dressed up as deformed black puzzle pieces that need to be forced together to create a story that only K Webster could write. It’s dangerous, it’s risky, it’s disgusting, wrong, filthy, seamlessly masterful and overwhelmingly addicting. I got to fall for new characters, and renew hatred in old ones. I got redemption and regret mixed with worship and praise. It’s a beautiful disaster, and it’s my new favorite story. Come take a walk on the wild side with my new friends, and catch up with the War and Peace gang before Kristi decides to kill them all off in some horrendous plot twist that will only confirm that she’s a creature from another dimension who answers to nobody and does what she wants. I think, perhaps, there might be a bit of K Webster in Vienna’s story…
This Isn't Fair, Baby is book 6 in the War & Peace Series by Author K. Webster. It is a dark romance novel, and should not be read as a standalone.
Oh, how I have craved this book. When we left off in This is Me, Baby, Vee was still a captive of Esteban and had grown to need him, a.k.a. Stockholm Syndrome. But we learn that she is about to come face-to-face again with the man her heart truly loves, who just happens to be Esteban's brother. This sets us up for a story that is bound to keep us right over the edge of hell.
“Good thing we’re villains because we’re going to walk out of here together. Equals. King and queen. Heroes are for fairytales.” I rest my head on his shoulder. “Our story is one from the horror section.” He kisses the top of my head. “With a little erotica thrown in?” I laugh as we slowly make our way into the bright sunlight. “With a lot thrown in.”
Who can make the devil into a saint? Author K. Webster. She gave us the best of both of these personalities in this novel. The moment Diego came on the scene, I was delirious with excitement. I knew he would mend Vee, heart, mind, and body, and avenge her from the rotted demons that stole her soul and spirit. It took one wink, one simple action, and I was under his spell. Bring on "Plan D"!
“Because they decided to hurt and betray me. Because they don’t care about me. I’m here because they think I’m a pawn. I’m here because they don’t know me at all.”
Vee...strong, cunning, and hellbent on revenge. No one stood a chance. She was a woman on a mission and a woman ready to open her heart to a love that would change everything in her world.
“You are like a thousand sunrises. Too bright and goddamned beautiful for human eyes. I’m blind just looking at you, mi diablita.”
I love when couples can break each other down sexually and emotionally in a way that exposes every corner of light and dark. But, they can also use their weaknesses to become even stronger. This was Vee and Diego. Their heat could melt the polar ice caps. Their emotional connection was a cord that couldn't be broken. And their fierce determination and resilience could bring the world to their knees. Their bonding was powerful, magnetic, and infectious.
This Isn't Fair, Baby made me fall in love with the bad guy, cheer on the unthinkable, and get heated with the sexy. I was completely captivated and enraptured with the vindication that was dealt.
“I guess we’re even then. Villains are my weakness.”
The princess in the tower finally gets her story told. Vienna has always possessed beauty, and wealth, but felt like an afterthought. Be careful what you wish for...
The Good: 1. Diego appears in other books, but takes center stage in this installment.
2. Finally we are back to the dark non-con that hooked me on this series to begin with.
3. The last scene made so hungry for the next book. My favorite characters are coming back. It looks like we might finally see that ticking time bomb explode.
The Bad: 1. I felt there was some retcon involved to make Vienna suddenly irresistible to men already in her orbit forever.
2. The big plan is a little dumb and requires a lot of belief suspension.
Final Thoughts: This is my least favorite portion of the story so far. I hope the last installment goes back to form.
With each book this series just gets better and better. If you haven't started this series, I suggest you head over to Amazon and one-click them all!
This is book 6 in the series and I must say that this is my favorite one. There is so much emotion, suspense, and heat that it will have you turning the pages without wanting to stop. Vee is an incredibly strong, beautiful character that will leave you needing to know how her story ends.
All the things you knew about the characters leading up to this particular book, think again! K has completely and utterly mind f*cked us again and she's done it in such a deliciously evil way! This book definitely needs way more than 5 stars because it has blown this series right out of the water!
Where do I even start with this review. Other then this book was ah may zing !!!!!!!!!!
I've lost all coherent thoughts and sit here in a comatose like state hours after finishing the book. This book definitely evoked feelings. What the fuck feelings, OH MY Fucking GAWD feelings. NO FUCKING WAY feelings. HOLY SHIT that is soooo ROMANTIC in such a fucked up way feelings.
Angst, heartache, hatred, fear, sadness, outrage, horror, love, lust, even at times disbelief. Those are just some of the emotions I felt with this book. The characters and the storyline so consuming at times I hung on to every word, every scene, everything.
K. Webster is a master of a dark, yet swoony romance. There is nothing fluffy about these books they are fucked up in such a beautiful way and the ups and downs and the OH MY GAWD moments are what makes this a five star read. This series is a like a drug in itself because I am hooked on the characters. So completely hooked I don't want this series to end. Just absolutely fucking amazing.
I've been a huge ...like HUGE kristi fan , ever since I met Gabe in book 1. She writes fast paced , furiously grisly, action packed, dark thrillers like no other . I've been following all the War &Peace series and she hasn't disappointed as yet. I couldn't step away,, I haven't cooked, I couldn't stop reading it !! This #6 is true to the genre and the format. I so wanna ramble but she's sharpening knives with a crazy gleam in her eyes and giving me murderous looks ! I'm shit scared of her, so I'll be vague booking in my review The story starts with a knockout punch ......I cannot believe some of the horrors along the way. What I expected of the characters, they were true. Very sexy, very hot, very passionate. Vee surprised me. I wasn't expecting her to evolve so much. Kudos to kristi , she DOES and HOW !! Loved her steel mettle ! There are twists and turns in the story ( duhhhh....it's kristi !!) I had them figured out or I shall say, expecting them. So that took away the surprise element for me. But she dealt with story in her unique way and the end scene is Deja vu for me. Yet still makes my hair stand on end . The epilogue is cherry on the MoFo top ! Cannot wait to see what happens next !!! 4 stars #BookBistroBlogApproved Follow us on FB - https://www.facebook.com/groups/BookB... This is book 6 in a series and should be read in order.
Once again K Web has blown me away. This series got me hooked on the very first book and hasn't let me go since. The twists and gut punches just keep coming ... like a never ending field of cucumbers ;)
I'm not going to post spoilers, because thats not nice. So here's what I loved. - Vee, she's just awesome I absolutely loved her in this book. - all the baddies, and some of the good guys too - the twists - the way it was nothing like what I expected it to be! - absolutely everything about it
This is one of my favorite series! And book six did not disappoint, it was deliciously dark, devilishly dirty and so so much fun to read. I can't wait for the last little bit.
This Isn’t fair, Baby (War & Peace, #6) By K. Webster 4 Stars
Here we are on book 6 of this series and the story continues at a pace that K. Webster has perfected.
Not going to go into a lot of details with this book…But beware…there are twists and turns in here that will make you wonder if you are holding your kindle straight. Enemies…Best Friends… Doesn’t matter… Everyone is fair game.
But what I will give you is my two favorite lines from this book:
He grips my wrist in a painful way. “I’ve never had to force a woman.” His eyes darken a shade. ‘They all beg for Daddy Diego’s cock.”
“I have you bent over my desk, with food staining your dress, with my angry anaconda pressed against your ass, and you’re still laughing. Have you no fear, woman?”
What is the game? REVENGE!!! It’s a well-played game that takes total commitment and determination for a complete Victory. Who’s playing…Who will win? Make sure you read this one to find out!!!
Prepare yourself for the final Book … This is the End, Baby (epilogue novella)
Two things you need know about Vee, she was always a daddy's girl and she always had a crush on Oscar... Until she lost her father and well Oscar... Did she really ever have him?
The author asked for no spoilers, with that said I will respect her wishes.
This story is about Vee and the men that have destroyed her and the one that reminded her she is the queen. I loved this twisted, tragic, love story. Just when I think where can K. Webster take this series? BAM she shows us "oh, I can take this series a lot further."
So, get ready you're in for a crazy ride, things will happen you didn't see coming and if you think you know who this book is about besides Vee, you may or may not be right ;)
*ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.* ~Alison
after some thoughts I am bumping up this book's rating.
Vienna and Diego were a great power couple, and it made all the difference.
While Diego was disgusting at times and didn't treat his 'wives' so well, he did care for women.
Vee had experienced capture, rape, starvation, torment from someone she had known most of her life. He drugged her. and then, as if she needed the cherry on top (just to prove things could be worse), she received an awful betrayal from the man who was her best friend and the (supposed) love of her life.
When this betrayal is delivered in the worst way and the people who used and abused think they can use her as a pawn in her war, Vee had enough.
in Diego, Vee finds a kindred spirit, an outlet for her rage. she finds support, love, sanctuary and power.
Vee is stronger than what we would have thought from the glimpses we saw in the previous two books.
She's awesome. and she refuses to be a victim.
one has to admire that.
what I don't understand is what the hell were Estaban and Oscar thinking. Did they really believe that with all they did she would not resent them and seek revenge?
Diego and Vee went to the extreme in order to get what they wanted, and they worked as a team, equals.
in that regard they stand out in this series and Vee isn't your conservative heroine. which is why I like her.
Much better than the last 2 books in the series. There is even quite a bit of humor in it, which surprised me. There is also a lot of dark and twisted. Full steam on the sex scenes. Very graphic.
The end is a lead into the last book in the series, which is novella size. Then my journey with K. Webster and her writing partner K. Dukey will be taking a Long Break
I don’t know how to review this book. I’m just sitting here staring at my screen with a large glass of whiskey…
I tried to brace myself for this story. I really did. I knew it would be a tough read. But I was not prepared for the onslaught of emotions this story brought out in me. This book is so much more than 5 stars, it makes me question most of my 5 star ratings because it just MORE. I loved this book on a level I can't describe. ’This isn’t fair, baby’ isn't just a book or a characters, it’s a story about fate and love. I don't think I will ever forget this book, I am still crying minutes later. Kristi has done it again.
They say I’m like diamond, unbreakable. But that Hijo de Puta can break me. Mi motherfucker, I will always love you. ♥
I ran out of words, just one more thing: Kristi, I will always grateful for you for this series. This is my drug.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This Isn't Fair, Baby is the sixth book in K Webster's War and Peace Series. You have to read the other five books before this one or you are going to be lost. This book is about Vee.
I had one king in my world but he fell and a new one slid into his place. He wasn't just or fair. He was twisted, hateful and cruel. I thought I had this black king figured out....I was so wrong. The black king had new moves. Moves that became complicated and included my heart. Hope trickled through me for only a moment until my black king and my heart sided against me. Those two didn't play fair. They used me as a pawn in a bigger game. A game that I sure didn't know how to play. The laws changed and I didn't play by their rules anymore. The queen makes up her own rules. I am not a pawn or theirs to use and abuse. I belong to nobody. When there is a new player on the board I quickly learn he doesn't play fair either. But, he sure does know how to treat his queen. Together we will make them pay. All is fair in love and war. Definitely not this time though.
Holy cow what a book. As is true K Webster style, I didn't see a lot of things coming and had my heart in my throat quiet a few times while reading. We last saw Vee in the epilogue of This Is Me, Baby. She was in the clutches of Esteban. This Isn't Fair, Baby picks up right where that epilogue left us. Oh Esteban you evil psycho. And you better hold one because I swear I knew Oscar was unhinged after the death of his brother but he shocked the pants off me in this book. I honestly thought this book would be about Oscar and Vee. She's been in love with him since she was just a little girl and I totally thought this was their payoff. Nope. No. I was so wrong. This book surprised me in so many way. Ways that had me thinking how in the world is this going to work but the second it does start working I fell so in love with Vee and who she actually is with. I rooted so hard for them through this entire book. I love him. He may be the villain in some peoples story but he sure isn't in this one. He and Vee are so perfect for each other and the girl blossoms in this book. She finds her true self in this book and it was so much fun to be a part of that. I could say a million more things about this book but I am so terrified I will give something away and ruin it for someone.
I LOVE dark twisted books. K Webster's War and Peace Series has got to be one of my absolute favorites. I will say I was sad when I got to the end for now and learned one more novella and this series is over. It's been so much fun to spend time with all these characters and I am going to be so sad for it all to end. That's the good thing about books. You can always go back and read them again later on and experience the greatness all over again.
Gah!! Just when I though the story couldn't get any more effed up.....I'm proven so very wrong. This one focuses on Vee and all of the horrible things she endures at the hands of Esteban and the one person she thought was her friend, Oscar. A plan formed, an agreement made and an alliance nobody would have expected. This book was hot, gritty, scary and beyond exciting! It was absolutely impossible to put down.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this review voluntarily
I don't even know where to start with this review. My gushing and raving would be pages and pages long. I will say this much: this book MAY be my FAVORITE of the series, and that's saying a lot because I ADORED both War and Ren's stories equally. Let me go do a re-read and delve back into this couple's FANTASTIC love story.
