For most people, a visit from their former in-laws is unpleasant at most. If only I were that lucky.

Mine have unexpectedly dropped by, leaving a couple of bodies in little bits and a message in blood as their way of saying hi.

Which is just great. Now I can add one more group to the growing list of nut-bags who want to tuck me in for a dirt nap. Simply put, if the in-laws d

So, at the end of the story so far, I find myself relieved that the main plotlines have been tied up nicely, and the questions left unanswered are leaving the series open to continue. This is solid urban fantasy, combined with multi-pantheon mythology, combined with science fiction. While that may sound like a strange mashup, Lange has managed to throw it all together in a BELIEVABLE modern day setting! New Orleans has always been home to strange happenings, so it's a great setting for the major ...more

The book was full of action as the first one, but there were some loose ends and some important parts of the story that were not well explained. It seemed as though we should have known most of the history of the MC, but there are no other books about him except the first book and the novella.
A good read, but I would expect that an author tries to get the full story to the reader, not just parts of it as in this book.

Round two. Ding ding

So what can i say ? Welcome to a world of violence, power and mystery. Viktor is a man, a God killer who knows his own mind and does what has to be done. Every time.
He's the Clint Eastwood man with no name, except hes got lots of names. Just Counts attitude and propensity for violence.
The supporting cast are funny, intresting and lead our man into plot twist after plot twist.
Enjoy.

Great take on the Norse mythology. Plot is good and it all links together. There was a hint of Fenrir in this and I hope to see more in the future. Always thought Fenrir got bad press and deserved better. Particularly like the tie in of the various legendary beings. Looking forward to next book.

This science fiction/urban fantasy/action adventure story takes place in NoLA, There is death and dismemberment and often blood, gore and goo. The protagonist often gets the crap beaten out of him AND he's almost (I said ALMOST) as clueless about what is happening to him than us readers. Viktor is a smart ass and that's what draws me to a good character. The story is written like he's telling the story to you personally. He's got depth to him that comes from a lot of experience tending to the th ...more

Ken Lange is a current resident of the 'Big Easy', along with his partner and evil yet loving cats. Any delay, typo or missed edit can and will be blamed on the latter's interference.

He arrived at this career a little later in life and his work reflects it. Most of his characters won't be in their twenties and they aren't always warm and fuzzy. He is of the opinion, that middle aged adults are wo
