Black Diamond By Brittani Williams

Two girls named Diamond and Mica, whom knew each other since their childhoods, lost their friendship only to regain it back, although there are always secret motives. Mica escaped the “hood” and lost contact with Diamond, now Diamond was married to a guy at the time named “Kemp Lo”, he was on of the biggest and well known drug dealers of North Philadelphia and was able to escape the “hood” as well. Then you can say, that’s when the deals were called

This book is the second book that was on my library's Urban Fiction Book Club reading list.

It was a fairly quick read and it leaves you on a cliff-hanger in the prologue.

I appreciated the approach the author took to start the book, it was a very dramatic beginning that makes you want to read the rest of the book. I also appreciated how the author provided the background story for Diamond and Mica. However, I had some issues with the story. My first issue was the lack of description for the legal

This book "Black Diamond" is about two girls Diamond and Mica two childhood friends until tragedy tears them apart. Both ladies go there separate ways and had to endure different live tragedies. They both have a motive to gain wealth and live fabulous lives. The question is who comes out on top?

Diamond was married to a guy named "Kemp-Lo" well known drug-dealer in North Philadelphia and she was able to escape the "hood" so was Mica. Then when things went wrong you can say that deals were made an

Wasn't disappointed at all with this book. First time reading a book by this author I have another book by her that I know want to read.

Diamond and Mica was best friends growing up but, Mica blamed Diamond for her brother Johnny killing there abusive father. So they lost connect due to that.

Diamond was so needy that she dealt with a man Davey that was cheating and giving her a STD. For her to try to keep him she did a threesome that lead to some more crazy stuff. For her to learn her lesson she

I didn't know if Diamond or Mica was more trifling. They went from being the best of friends to one blaming the other for destroying her family. Both girls found themselves with dudes that didn't amount to anything but was blinded by what they thought was love. I wanted to slap some sense in Diamond when she was dealing with Davey because even though she had her reason for staying, she was stupid for thinking things would change. It took one final act for her to realize how Davey truly was but h ...more

This book was about two females who grew up together until a tragedy tears them apart. While they are apart they are both gold diggers, and yet completely in love with their drug-dealing boyfriends. Their men are both dogs and puts them through hell. Everything I just said could have been made into one chapter probably...Not over half of the damn book! How many pages do us readers have to be forced to read about what new nonsence Davey got going on in this chapter?? Enough already! We get it! He ...more

Man....this book was good!
Black Diamond is a story about friendship AND so-called friendship. Love and hate. Sistahood and backstabbing. Pay-offs and Pay-backs.
This is a book that I would definitely recommend! I was immediately caught up in the drama!
I disagree (respectfully!) with the reviewer who said this book paints black women in a bad manner. Since when does someone read a book and says the characters represent all black women? I'm sorry, that doesn't make sense to me. But at the same time

The writing is disorienting and choppy. There is no smooth transitions from one thing to antoher and a lot of holes were left in the writing. Sometimes these holes were filled chapters later sometimes never. It alsmost like a gian puzlze and not the good kind that you love to piece together. The piece can easily be written as a linear story but the other puts no structure to it so you get background on something that you have already forgotten you read about. There is also the fact that the auth ...more

I really enjoyed reading this book. Black Diamond will have your attention from page 1 until the end. Diamond and Mica were once best friends until a tragic event brought their friendship to an end. Both ladies went their own way and had to endure different tragedies in their lives. Another tragic event brings the two women back into each other lives. Diamond and Mica both have a motive with hopes to gain wealth and live the fabolouse life. The question is who or will anyone come out on top.You w ...more

This book was a pretty good read and really easy to read. At first I didn't like how the chapters were set-up,but eventually I got used to it. I like how she didn't leave you hanging to much at the end, by giving us a preview of the next book Black Diamond 2: Nicety. For that I'm seriously considering reading the second & third books. I have also added Brittani as one of new Urban authors to read from.

Wow. Now for book 2. Both Diamond and Mica were gold diggers all about money. I fill Mica in a way got what she deserved for screwing Kemp. On the other hand Diamond should not have used Kemp due her past relationship problems. Not all relationships are the same. So let me see how book 2 holds out. I want to see what happens to Diamond and see will she truly live out her riches.

i really liked this book it took me into a world of drama, lust and betrayal. But i also learned that after Davey(the 1st guy Diamond fell in love with) she kind of gave up hope of finding love again and tried to use Kemp. Her downfall was not being completely sure that Kemp was dead which made her slip up on her future plans for herself. hope Diamond 2 is as good as the first

Loved this book! Exciting read, a page turner! My only pet peeve is I am not into the volumes 1,2,3,4,5, etc. These type of books always make me feel "ganked". I am an avid reader, have been since age 6 and am used to writers being able to tell a full complete satisfying story in one novel! This book is one of those "to be continued" type books and I will not be reading it.

This book was ok. It took awhile for me to read it even though I was interested the whole way through, but it wasn't something I couldn't put down. It took too long to get to the point and once it did, it was over. There was also a few errors in the book. I'm assuming there might be a sequel. I'll probably end up buying that.

This book is very interesting. I learned that you should never take no one for granted! When you have someone do not take them for granted because they can be devils and people can turn their back and be backstabbers. This book teaches you a lesson to find your correct friends! And people that will be there for you.

The book had a lot of errors but not to much were you couldn't read it. Also the story line was A little catchy and it seemed to me the Author didn't know which way she wanted to go. Other than that it was a fair read for me. Now on to book 2....

This Book Was Just O.K.

As others said there was way too much talking about the relationships and not really focusing on the conflict.
