Provocative is the first in the White Lies Duet, and this contemporary romance offers a perfect blend of mystery, intrigue, passion, and romance.

As Faith finds solace in Nick, the trust they share is fragile, and when she discovers the truth, it might just shatter her completely.
Overall, Provocative is an absolute must read for romance fans who enjoy mystery, raw passion, and romance. I have long been a fan of this author's work and I was truly blown away by this twisted plot and unforgettable characters. I am desperate for the next book in the duet to hit my Kindle! July can not get here fast enough!

How well can you keep a secret?
Nick and Faith met at her winery and their meeting was chock full of sexual tension. The author wrote their scenes so well that the sizzle, the spark, and their chemistry virtually jumped out at me. Nick was a successful corporate attorney, given the nickname of Tiger, to which he more than lived up to. Faith was a winery owner whose true calling was as an artist. They couldn't be more dissimilar, but it was evident as their story unfolded (and as we were treated to their exquisite banter), their differences weren't going to stop their inevitable connection.
Despite how fast their relationship was moving and despite them both trying to fight their feelings, love found its way between these two and I loved that. But there were so many secrets. I loved the way the author left me as clueless as her characters. As each secret was revealed, it was just one more surprise. I was thoroughly entertained by the way that I was led with this story. Each revelation, each private fact, and each public disclosure made me feel closer to the characters. Well to Nick anyway. It took me a while to warm up to Faith but I got there in the end.
There are still so many secrets to be uncovered and I'm eager to see what the blow back will be once each of them are discovered in Shameless.

I LOVED everything about this story… 😊 I've read the book all day long, literally I just couldn’t put it down and my eyes are killing me right now but oh fuck it, I won’t give a shit because it was soooo worth it. 😎 Faith & Nick gave me the best hours of my life! Their chemistry were really great but I especially liked Nick... Ahh that man wet my panties, he was sooo freaking hot.🔥🔥🔥 He's very possesive over Faith, also he's very arrogant but also he's so sexy like he's sex on the stick but he's very smart and also so funny too. 😀 And here I am talking like I'm obsessed over him. 😂😂😂 One second please... Oh yeah, I definitely liked him like a lot... 😀

A SEXY and INTENSE start to what will surely be another ROMANTIC SUSPENSE must read series by Lisa Renee Jones! PROVOCATIVE is book one in Lisa's brand new White Lies Duet and let me tell you, she is NOT messing around! There is no gentle easing in on Faith and Nick's story. Right up front you know why Nick is pursuing Faith, but I have a feeling there is SO MUCH MORE to the story than this, and I can't wait to get my hands on book two to find out exactly what Ms. Jones is going to surprise us with.

Secrets, lies, and murder. Does that sound familiar? This author is absolutely NO stranger to this particular genre and why fix what's not broken! Romantic Suspense is Ms. Jones' forte, and I wouldn't want it any other way. She brings the HEAT! She brings the ANGST! She brings the PASSION every single time and PROVOCATIVE is no different! I have a feeling I've only read what you would say is the tip of the iceberg, with Faith and Nick's story. I'm biting my nails in anticipation of book two and I just know that Lisa will blow her readers away with this brand new series!
This author has also treated her Inside Out Series fans with some appearances of some of her ADORED characters. I just know that, that will bring a huge smile to some fan's faces. It was a definite bright spot in this romantic and thrilling read.

This is how she lures you in and entices you. It's pretty FANTASTIC and I can't wait to get my hands on book two, SHAMELESS, due out July 11th! I have a feeling Ms. Jones has another suspenseful HIT on her hands!

That book had everything I love in a book and it made me feel with its good quality writing!
WHITE LIES Duet is the story of Nick & Faith. Nick is a very successful lawyer whereas Faith is an artist. Their paths cross in an unusual way.
PROVOCATIVE is Book 1 & SHAMELESS is Book 2.
Nick’s father died of a heart attack unexpectedly. Although Nick didn’t have good relations with his father he tries to understand the reasons of his death. Before his death, Nick’s father had been paying large sums of money to Faith’s mother, which makes Nick think that she had been blackmailing him.
However, a short time later, Faith’s mother also dies of a heart attack in a very similar way. That makes Nick think that her daughter Faith is behind these deaths. He thinks she killed them both for a reason, most probably to get the ownership of the vineyards and winery, which has been the inheritance of Faith’s father. It was left to her mother and with her death, it was bound to be her property now.
In order to solve the mystery of these two deaths, Nick makes a plan to get close to Faith. However, when he meets her in person, he is extremely attracted to her. In a short time, Faith becomes an addiction and an obsession for him. He wants to own her.
First, he wants to prove if she is guilty or not.
Then, he decides he wants her guilty or innocent, no matter what.
Then, he believes she is innocent.
However, Nick is never brave enough to confess how and why he got close to her in the first place. That remains a secret between them for a long while, which brings more lies with it. The more time passes, the more difficult it becomes for Nick to confess that once he thought she was a killer and he wanted to destroy her.
When Nick believes that the murderer is now after Faith, he makes a delicate plan to protect her and it requires that Faith stays near him; thus, he cannot dare to speak the truth for the time being, fearing that she would fly away from him and he couldn't keep her safe. He needs her with him to keep her safe.
Their chemistry is strong, their emotional bond gets stronger and stronger and the only thing that stays as an obstacle is the lies between them.
The first book focuses more on their relationship whereas the 2nd book focuses more on the suspense and the mystery.
I liked both characters despite their obvious flaws. I believed in their love and in their feelings towards each other in spite of all the secrets and lies.
Safety:
Both characters had a sex club experience with their exes in their past.
However, when they start to be together, they are exclusive and there is no one else for them. So no cheating whatsoever!

➦Lisa Renee Jones, I have finally arrived.
➦But you know, better late than never. And I was very pleased with this provocative book. Verra pleased. But, of course, left wanting more. Since, you know, it's only a first part of the duet. I shall be waiting patiently for you, book #2.
➦So what can I say? Due to the fact that this book has a bit of suspense to it, I will spare you any unnecessary details in fear of giving out spoilers. But if you enjoy revenge plots then this one is for you.
➦The hero approaches an artist, a woman, who he believes had a hand in his father's sudden death. He soon realizes that there is much more to her character than he originally predicted and begins believing in her innocence. So, is she good, is she bad? Is this love? wtf?
➦Precisely my thoughts at the very end of this book. So beware of the cliffy
➦Also, all the roads seem to be leading to BDSM, since a club was mentioned once. Even though the heroine admits to being a part of the BDSM scene in her past, there isn't much of anything involving sub/dom between the main characters. At least yet. The focus is primarily on the hero trying to dig up the truth about his father's death and disappearance of some money.

What an appropriate title for this series! From page one I was sucked in and trying to figure out what's about to happen. I love that about this author. She gives you little crumbs to lead you on a merry chase to the truth.
I have so many questions! Is the secret Faith is hiding have anything to do with the suspected murders? Or is she completely innocent? Is her agent involved? Her ex? Why is the bank hell bent on taking the winery away from her. The list of questions is long and I love it!
There is so much mystery and intrigue, you will not be bored. This also ends on a cliffhanger that is gearing up for something big, not only with the suspected murders but also between Nick and Faith.

I really enjoyed reading it.
I love it when I get to read a book set in California Wine Country!
I just love the whole atmosphere and lifestyle of those places. Even though the book is not really about wine.
I also really loved Nick and Faith.
BUT - all while reading - I had the feeling that I've read this story before. It's all so... hm - the same as every other book. Rich lawyer, poor little girl who needs help. Some very erotic things. Some mysterious things. A criminal person. BUT - all that was also what kept me reading. Because it was so very interesting and exciting. You just have to keep on reading, because first of all you need them to get their happy ending and you have to find out who the bad guys are and what they have planned!
Now I can't wait for book #2 to be released in July!!!!!

I just finished Provocative by Lisa Renee Jones and I’m still UTTERLY SPELLBOUND!!! My mind is SPINNING from the suspense. I’m in a DREAMY DAZE. I can’t think straight. I’m still STUCK in this story!!! This story has not released my soul that is still swimming in a sea of suspense. My heart is still furiously beating out of my chest, racing like that of an Olympic runner. My body is going through the motions, directed by my brain that is still under the spell of this story. My mind is not mine. Provocative rendered me MIND-BLOWN!!!
Provocative CLAIMED and CONSUMED every ounce of me from the very first page.Mind racing. Pulse pounding. Feels flowing. Eyes wide in anticipation. Heart beating out of my chest. This is my first book by Miss Jones. The blurp is very promising. Romance mixing with mystery killer.
The romance aspect is quite seducing. But not so much for the mystery. So the romance is too much and sometime during 50% of the book, it becomes disconnect. Disconnect between the characters, disconnect the plot. So I slowly disconnect. Disconnect from everything.
I give it 3 stars credit to promising story and Tiger. The rest just... meh

Let me start by stating that this ends in a cliffhanger and it is one of those truly torturous ones were the author has you totally hooked with the storyline and the characters. I definitely wanted more of this delicious and suspenseful romance.
I was drawn in by Faith and Nick's characters so fast and it is a story that is full of secrets, lies and murder. All the elements are there -chemistry, passion, angst and a gripping storyline . Provocative indeed.
Now I am counting down the time until the release of the second book that concludes this story and I just know that there is a lot more yet to be revealed.
This is my first book by Lisa Renee Jones and I really loved it. Erotic, entertaining and great storyline.

I was reading this in-between other books because I just love her writing and I am addicted to her men! Plus, whenever there is a romance with a bit of suspense story, I am all over it, as long as it is written well. And we know she is fabulous at setting up her stories and characters.
Hot AF, the author gives us a behind the scenes look at the winery and art world with legal issues all around. Nick is totally yummy and I love the dual POV writing. With intelligent banter and steamy ass scenes all over, this book is so worth the read.
Ends on a bit of a cliffhanger so be ready with book 2!

Secrets, Lies, Lust, Murder, Suspense.......
This book is full of mystery. A sort of who done it set with characters trying to find missing money and if murder is involved. Set in the Wine Country and San Francisco with lawyers and artist and wine makers, the story opened up to a nice bouquet.
Faith Winters and Nick "Tiger" Rogers meet and sparks definitely ignite. These two have very different agendas but one agenda involves the other. With each step forward, the connection that Faith and Nick feel for each other becomes intense and steamy. But with each step forward, the lies and secrets become larger as well. And as we all know, as time progresses, the lies and secrets get harder to tell and harder to forgive.
I found the story very intriguing. And while the connection for Faith and Nick was fast, it worked for me. I liked their banter, their chemistry, and Faith's past. Figuring out friends and enemies was also part of the equation. Could Faith and Nick trust each other and those surrounding them?
I must say that the author has a very distinct writing style. It is very wordy yet flowy. I will say that at the beginning I was having some issues but as the story moved forward, I got use to the style and it held my attention.
This book leaves you with a cliffhanger. But the writer fully invests the reader making you count down the days till July 11th and Shamless releases.

Talk about a disappointment. Im sorry but the plot took too long to develop and my interest was to the bottom level by then until i didnt even want to read it.

I'm in the minority here, well and truly.
1. Too much Sara/Chris/Rebecca. I'm done with that series, so the cross contamination of ex characters bleeding into a new series doesn't sit well with me. ESPECIALLY if I hated them. I'll throw in my fyi: that series wasn't particularly safe, and both Sara and Chris were pathetic.
2. Just like the clinical sex scenes in the Inside series, same goes here.
3. Reads like Pepper Winters. If you've read my reviews on her books, she writes excessively and flamboyantly but straight up, it's not that deep. It reads like a circle, using flowery words which give me a headache because, please just cut to the fucking chase. The situation is way more simple. Which leads to my fourth point...
4. 90% of this book is filler and no movement.
5. Poor plot advancement, like the forth point THUS poor plot. Hero thinks heroine is responsible for his fathers death, because his dad was writing her mum checks in millions and now her mother/father/his father are all dead.
6. Took me two weeks to read because I desperately wanted to persevere.
7. Hero is 36, she's 30. Both have been involved in the bdsm life. Both are jaded. Both of them cringed me out and I bought none of his "I'm obsessed with her" monologues. He was obsessed with the truth which as an attorney, only serves as a characteristic of his.

What he doesn't expect is to find a connection with the beautiful, haunted artist whose life has been on a downward slope since her fathers passing two years prior. What starts as a desire to claim her then ruin her becomes more when he allows emotion into his life for the first time ever. They share moments of lust and affection, of honesty and trust, but the secrets between them could ultimately break one or both of them.
"If she's innocent, I'm a bastard in every sense of the word. I kiss her again, and this time there is anger on my tongue, accusation, my own lies, and maybe hers."
At first slow, Provocative grows increasingly more intense with its story of sex, love, deceit, and murder from the perspectives of two main characters, Nick and Faith. I was enamored with Nick from the start, despite the weariness Faith has with him, his honest perspective is refreshing. He's handsome, independent, and nothing at all like he is first perceived to be. Faith is clearly hurting, broken from a past that she doesn't know the full truth of. Both hold secrets, though it is unclear whose are true and whose could possibly ruin them. Like most LRJ novels, the characters are easy to connect to, written with so much depth and complexities that they are more than name on paper. Not only was I intrigued by the connection between Faith and Nick, and the relationship they are getting closer to having, but their individual pasts also tell a separate story all their own. The story builds from their first meeting, introducing new questions and fewer answers, creating a romantic mystery type story readers will find so hard to put down.
"I want more from this woman, who might just literally be the death of me if I'm not careful. And yet, that doesn't matter. I still want more."
I am always a fan of Lisa Renee Jones work, and it takes a lot for me to pick a favorite, but I enjoyed Provocative so much and I love that it is a duet rather than a lengthy series. Readers of romance and mystery will be seduced by Provocative, it's a must read filled with passion and twists. I absolutely cannot wait for book two, Shameless.

If you are a fan of this author’s Inside Out series, there are character cameos from Chris and Sara, as well as a mention of Rebecca. This is 100% readable as a standalone; however, if you have plans on reading Inside Out, I would recommend reading that first. This series is a duet in serial style. So, it does have an abrupt and sharp cliffy.
If you are looking for a smoking hot read with an unsolvable mystery, this is the book for you!

Review For: Provocative by Lisa Renee Jones 'Provocative' by Lisa Renee Jones is book One in the "White Lies Duet" series. This is the story of Faith Winter and Nick Rogers 'Tiger'. This does end with a light cliffhanger to open us up for the next installment into the "White Lies Duet". Nick got his nickname 'Tiger' for being a cut throat who rips your throat out. So no one stands in his way. He is a total Alpha Male too! Nick is on the hunt to find out who killed his father and possible killed Faith mother. Nick main suspect Faith..who he has only be researching her history. Nick goes forward to meet her to so that he can get a better understanding of her. When Nick arrives at the Winery he sees that Faith is being confronted by two men. Nick confronts them and turns the two men away. Faith tries to walk away from him but he goes forward to talk to her. What Nick wasn't prepared for is to be so attracted to her. Faith is like no other women he has met. In talking to her he finds she is not what he thought she would be. But that doesn't stop him from finding out the truth to what she knows or has done. Faith just lost her mother who didn't leave a will and left the Winery in money troubles. Faith is trying to keep the Winery going since it was her fathers. Faith herself is an artist who would rather being doing that but tries to keep the Winery going. Faith too is attracted to Nick but at this point in her life she doesn't feel that she can be involved with anyone. But Nick isn't letting up and they start to have serious feelings. But can Nick continue to look into Faith's part in these death with out confronting her? What will Faith do when she learns what Nick has been up to? This was another great, hot and exciting read by Ms. Jones. Ms. Jones books bring so much story that you know that you will be getting a great story. Loved it! This was filled with relationship angst that had me on the edge most of the book. While I’m not a fan of secrets between the hero and heroine, the fact that it was obvious how this couple felt about each other helped to ease the way for me.
Nick and Faith were FIRE together! Their chemistry was off the charts and the suspense that ran throughout the story made this an intense read on every level.

This story had a general atmosphere of deceit, mystery and secrets that I enjoyed. But beware of the cliffhanger! The writing style of Ms. Jones is utterly addictive. I never can get enough of her fast-paced, riveting stories. I can’t wait for the conclusion of this intriguing story!

There is a reason why I rate this author so highly and why she is one of my goto authors. Because her stories are absolutely amazing. When it comes to steamy romantic suspense you really can't get much better than a LRJ book and Provocative does not disappoint.
I loved everything about Faith and Nick's story and I can't wait for the next book. Their draw to each other is instant and all consuming, but there is something sinister going on somewhere, a thread of danger, suspense and white lies that could be their undoing before they even really get started.
This book is simply unputdownable.
