This was an epic read full of action. I really liked it but I wish there was more romance. Ghislaine and Gaetan get together at 71% and only for a brief moment. They do say they love each other, but I really needed more of them together as a couple. That’s why this wasn’t a 5 star read for me.

Re-reading.
Original review still stands:
"The Wolfe" has always been my favorite book. It is 909-pages, jammed packed with action, characters that you can't help fall in love with, a sweet, wonderful romance and William de Wolfe. I have read "The Wolfe" five times. I never tire of it. It never gets old. I am merely visiting with friends that I miss. And, it never fails to put a smile on my face. It is that kind of book.

Despite the washboard abs on the front cover, Warwolfe is not an erotic romance book. It's not a bodice ripper, it's not a trashy Johanna Lindsey romance, and it's barely even a romance at all. This is primarily a medieval historical fiction book with battles and journeys and maybe 8% romance, and I was surprisingly into it.
We start at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 between the Norman army & the Anglo-Saxon defenders in England and that entire battle scene had me 100% engaged. That's how I knew ...more

I have been eager to try this author for quite some time now, especially since her writing is focused on medieval era's and I just gravitate toward authors that go away from the norm (meaning regency or victorian era) and writes something more unconventional. However the covers of her books aren't exactly my favorite, however, I decided that I needed to jump in the water with her and just take a chance and I am so thrilled that I decided to ...more

Kathryn Le Veque delivers again an action-packed, fast paced historical romance worth savouring slowly moments by moments! I found myself quickly absorbed in the story, staying up and reading until late in the night. WARWOLFE is a real page turner! A very complex story that will sweep you off your feet and take a hold of you. Medieval romance lovers, will adore the prequel of The Wolfe. I highly recommend it!

The Adventure of De Wolfe
Five Amazing Stars
I was so absolutely thrilled to now receive the first series, de Wolfe Pack. Written by the fantastic and amazing author, Kathryn Le Veque. For another most exciting historical adventure. I found this most wonderful awesome most magnificent book I found so hard to even put down.

I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator brad Wills was wonderful and his voices for all the warriors was perfect. Especially the male lead! The female voices weren't quite as good of course and he did a great job nonetheless. An engaging story with about 5% romance and the rest action set in 1066 England. Ms Le Veque tells a marvelous tale and every second of the story was interesting. Loved it! 4.5 stars.

Boring...Snooze fest...could not finish
I thought Kathryn LeVeque had a reputation for writing exciting romance novels. This one was horribly dull. Yes it's nice to know author did enough historical research to make story plausible but my goodness I hardly needed a dissertation on the battle of Hastings. Nor did I need the prologue and epilogue to be about a nervous college grad in modern times. And don't get me started on the 10 mind you, 10 of these grand ferocious knights. I could barely keep ...more

Ms. Le Veque paints a majestic panorama of what it was like during the Norman invasion, yet does not forget the minutiae of the dangers faced by anyone within Albion. Phenomenal!

I got to 75% on this book and had to call it a day. First off the author says it’s a historical romance, it took a very very long time for there to even be a hint of a romance. Next we have a female warrior who breaks down crying every five minutes and a hero who is a bit of a misogynist (okay they probably were in that day and age- I’ll let the author off!) I felt the plot was all over the place, we are still trying to find Krisoff at 80% in and I’m getting a bit fed up now, so hence I’ve calle

So Well Told
This brilliant author always has the ability to transport me to be directly in the midst of things when I read her books. I feel like as I am reading I have gently landed right into the story so that I can live each moment with all of these wonderful characters. Very few authors can do that in my eyes. Gaston and Grislaine's story was so well told. Not only was it their story, but the story of the Anges de Guerre, Angels of War.

WarWolfe was my “Maiden” novel read from author Kathryn Le Veque. My thoughts...I was worried when I started reading and it was about a college student doing research for her historical thesis. My first thought was this was going to be a time travel novel which are not my favorite choice of books. But, I kept going and I’m so glad I did!!! It is NOT a time travel! Happy dance! Then the Medieval storyline came alive with attractive and complex characters at the start of the Norman occupation of t ...more

As I read further into the Le Veque’s mighty library of Medieval stories of adventure, passion, honor, and battle, I'm ready to slide into her world all over again.
She’s a prolific writer who entertains with battle scenes, knight camaraderie, humor, and poignant moments. Her series overlap so much with characters from previous ones, the joy of old friends, the rich understanding of historical events and her developed characterization is thoroughly captivating.

What can I say about this book by Ms. Kathryn Le Veque except wow what an amazing book! Ms. Le Veque just seamlessly wrote such a captivating story which pulls you the reader into the deeply riveting involved story but there is such a level of complexity to not only the story telling and how she writes but her characters are very three dimensional plus seem so real that they literally come to life well that and the nicely done cover helps too. Ms. Le Veque is just a wonderful writer and story te

This is only my second book by this author so I still wasn't quite sure what to expect (I'd read The Wolfe first). Note this time period (the Battle of Hastings and the weeks following) is not one I'm very familiar with, so if you're looking for comments on historical accuracy, you're out of luck, lol.

When you read a new author you are never quite sure what to expect. You look at the reviews and make as good of an assessment as you can to decide. I had looked at several of her books at different times and thought they looked interesting and added them to my TBR pile, but this one stood out to me. So like any good reader, I took a leap of faith and set course with a new-to-me author. All I have to say is WOW. I could not put this book down. Yes, it is a romance, but that is definitely not the

A 'wolf whistle' for Warwolfe!
Warwolfe is another fantastic tale of knights, intrigue, battle, and romance! Sir Gaeton de Wolfe is a leader of eight knights from Normandy who are the greatest warriors of their day. This is the first book I've read from this author and she got me hooked! I like her writing style and I'm happy it's edited very well.
The descriptive writing was very vivid of imagery. Ghislaine and Gaetan are well-matched and I'm curious about what became of them. The first and last chapters are in the present and everything in between is a story of the past.
