It's so refreshing to read about ranchers who are solving problems, overcoming environmental challenges, and managing the land in an admirable way. The people Dagget visits are thoughtful, practical, and optimistic. They've figured out ways to make ranching a win-win operation that enriches the land as it goes. Hopefully, these people will set new standards for a sustainable future. For sure the land will be better for their stewardship.

Both author Teresa Jordan and poet/rancher/author Linda Hasselstrom recommended this as part of the Rocky Mountain Land Library's "A Reading List For the President Elect: A Western Primer for the Next Administration".
