I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

This was a very fast paced book. It was short but kept you glued to the pages.

Krystal suffered an incident that no one should have to endure. Sam was a young, police rookie that was extremely goal oriented. He was part of the rescue mission that saved Krystal and it was love at first sight for him.

First off, this book has some of dark elements and some may even consider it disturbing, but I liked it. If you have issues with dark themes then this isn't the book for you. A fast paced romance.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and loved the plot line. It is a very compelling story dealing with sensitive. Krystal is a young girl dealing with a horrendous situation and Samuel is the young man who rescues her. Together they forge forward to build a life together.

I just want to say that the development of the characters was great in this book. I am one of those readers that needs to have a deep connection with who I am reading about, and that is able to be made from page 1. The story is believable, though slightly predictable. However, I feel romances should always have a slight hint of predictability. I love that there is more to it than just the romance. There is plenty of suspense as well. A good read!

I can not say enough how much I loved this book! Krystal survives something that should be just the stuff of nightmares, but somehow she comes out of it. Yes, she is psychically hurt and emotionally traumatized, but the depth of her character shows in spades throughout this book. I really enjoyed reading this book. The story is very compelling, pulling you in and not letting you go. The story line was exciting her characters come to life. You find yourself wanting to know what will happen next. Read in the beginning how Krystal is a young dreamy eyed girl, to a broken terrified girl and then strong courageous girl. I was so excited when I finally started reading this book, and it started out quite well actually. The storyline was very promising and I was hopeful that this would be a great read. For a debut novel, it wasn't that bad after all, but there's room for improvement.

The story was very fast paced and there was no development of feelings because the characters were suddenly irrevocably in love from the first second they’d laid eyes on each other. It got even weirder when he began to have sexual thou I was so excited when I finally started reading this book, and it started out quite well actually. The storyline was very promising and I was hopeful that this would be a great read. For a debut novel, it wasn't that bad after all, but there's room for improvement.

It got even weirder when he began to have sexual thoughts about her while she was still dirty and naked, just rescued from her horrific torture. I was definitely not fan of that.

The Story:
Krystal McKenzie and her friend were kidnapped by the Rattler King MC and had to endure horrific things. Although Krystal made it out alive after three days of pure torture and wishing for death to come soon, she found her safe haven in the blue depths of her rescuer's eyes.
The bond between Krystal and Sam, her rescuer, was so strong right from the beginning, that both knew without a doubt that their soul had finally found the other missing half.

Thoughts:
I was irritated at how often the word 'love' was used in this book because I didn't feel any at all. Everything happened way too fast, especially since Kristal was barely of age and had gone through very disturbing things.

Although I do like to read about BDSM, their sexual play wasn't my cup of tea, but I don't judge. I had no problem with what they did, but when and how Sam urged her to it, even though she hadn't had consensual sex before, was barely of full age and had gone through something horrific. I might understand that she reflected all the good feelings on her savior, but they became sexually active too fast for my liking. And I felt like he forced her to it without giving her a say, although he thought about how he liked her to choose to submit to him.
Anyway, when it came to the spanking, it was a big no-no for me. She wasn't nowhere near to get into all of that and knowing what it's about. Yeah, he wanted to get her to talk about what happened but it felt forced for me and not in her best interest with how he went at it.
It was already really weird that she went home with him but I tried to not think too much about it.

I was really torn about how to rate this book because I liked the beginning but it got more and more wearisome after a while.

I liked the story line itself. Krystal is dirt poor doesn't know any better from left to right. She did not let words get her down. She only has one friend and they decided to go to their childhood hideout. They both went through tramatic experiences before her friend gets killed. this was a awesome book you wrote! its about two friends that go to a shed they always gone to. only to find out some bikers have taken it over. they suffer days of being raped and beaten. cops find her . she only lets one hold and take care of her. its a sad touching story of love and courage. thanks for giving me a chance to read this book!

This was my first read from Claire Lalique and I am so happy that I was able to R&R this book. I liked the dark and destructing elements that the author put in her book. Some authors dont like to have those in their book because its not to everyone's liking but was done very well. I would warn you that it maybe a trigger for you but a mild one.
