May 4, 2017I'm sorry but what's with the Author's unhealthy obsession with prostitution? Is it a way to encourage us to use our body as commodity? Or is it encouraging women to think prostitution could be romantic? Or are you trying to say the men who seek the services could be deemed as "heroes" of any kind? A man who pays for sex is not worthy of one iota of respect NO MATTER what his intentions may be and it is NOT romantic. It's cringeworthy. This might be JUST a smut, but I don't think my principles and conscience would survive if I touch this book. I can't ignore this saying it's not important enough to leave a mark.

I was provided with an ARC from the author who graciously gifted ARC copies, for an honest review!
This is a short story but so damn hot and steamy!! If your looking for that then I would suggest this one! Holy hot damn how hot was this!! This cover is also very sweet and charming. To be honest I chose the last cover (with Penny Wylder's mail you get to choose). But now I just adore this one much more!
Corbella has a debt of 1 million dollars with her stepdad, and to try and pay this off she gets a job as an escort. Giovanni is her first and only ( I can tell that right? ) "Costumer" because he doesn't want to share. With the drama from the stepdad I was thinking I know a guy who can fix that problem real quick, but then I remembered I don't actually know the guy just his story. Damn I need to remember these are fictional people and not actually like you can say come to the rescue! I loved everything about it! Penny Wylder is always my go to little smutty reads.
There were bits and pieces that made me rate it a bit lower:
* I absolutly hate it when the H calls the h a whore or a slut (even during sex). I can't stand it from no one! I don't really know why it bothers me but it just does! Does that make ma judgemental? I don't have anything against no one but it's just weird and not my taste.
* So in this one again If you go in the ass it needs stretching! Damnit I don't know how that all works but that's what I learned from other books. And still some people have magic asses that can take everything! But I get it you don't need to take it seriously but what if someone wants to give it a go and just does it like that? :o

Sexy and Creative Entry in the Genre
Corbella is being blackmailed by her thug of a stepfather so she turns to escorting to pay him. Giovanni is her first client. His proclivities are intense and Corbella learns that she enjoys it. But then they catch the feels and the whole arrangement is in jeopardy.
Editing is good, for the most part, but there are two story flow errors that bothered me. [Possible spoilers.] First, in Chapter 4 when Corbella's mother mentions her husband the first time, he is called Steve. But then when he shows up at Corbella's work, he is Anthony. Second, in Chapter 5, Gio has Corbella bound and face down on the bed. He enters her from behind and yet the text describes that as he thrusts, his testicles hit her back door. WTH?

*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book.* Another great read by Penny Wylder! A quick read, but packed with a powerful and EXTREMELY HOT punch! With a strong, independent and admirable female character at the reigns, Own Me, swooped me up and took me on sexy journey. In an attempt to repay a debt, Corbella (Lilly) enters a world she'd never expected to see herself in. However, with few options left, and needing major cash in a short amount of time, being scared or picky was not at the top of her list. Neither was meeting an extremely hot alpha male while in the line of duty. Giovanni, found himself extremely attracted to Corbella; but both found themselves crossing lines that were drawn for a reason. Own Me reminded me of the tempting and alluring side of male dominance. Giovanni plays this role exquisitely. However bewitching Corbella finds Giovanni, she finds herself being reminded of why she does what she does and attempts to stay focused. Own Me tells the story of two people, whose paths cross during an unlikely time. Neither one looking for a serious relationship, but realizing that denial was not in the cards either. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It got straight to the point, but never lost important aspects of the story. Penny Wylder just did this one right! You'll definitely enjoy it.

Whats a girl to do when she owes an obscene amount of money to her corrupt step father? Become a high class escort. Giovanni is into BDSM and pays extra to have her all to himself. Meanwhile she is falling in love with him. Will she pay her step father back before he starts to take it out on her mother? I was annoyed by the overuse of the word slut. It rubbed me the wrong way. And it also could have been shortened a little. Other than that it was a good novella.

OMFG how hot is this book?
It's 5 stars sizzling HOT!
My poor little kindle was sizzling white hot whilst I was reading this book.
I think I will have to give it the night off to cool down and give myself chance to cool down too.
I absolutely love Penny Wylder's books and she became a one click straight away author for me a long time ago and what I especially love about her books are every story is different.
This is a fantastic well written book that edges on the BDSM lifestyle and yes it's got a female escort in it but it explains why Corbella chose to become an escort with a very detailed back story.
Everyone's life can't be all fluffy kittens and rainbows,sometimes people have to take the rough with the smooth.
This book whilst it did get me all hot and bothered also had a really good story to go with it.
Giovanni and Corbella was insta lust at it's finest and who doesn't want to read about an Adonis who's all hot,demanding and dominant and a female who will do anything to protect the people she loves.
I loved this book and highly recommend you one click it as soon as you can.

I enjoy all of Penny Wylder's books and Own Me was no exception!!! This a story and while I realize it involves a young woman becoming an escort to pay off a debt I go back and repeat it is a STORY!!!
Corbella will do anything in her power to keep her mom safe from her step father even if it does involve becoming an escort. She needs to make 1 million dollars or her step father will make her mother kill herself for the insurance money.
Her first client turns out to be Giovanni, a very handsome dominant man with certain fetishes.
To Gio, Corbella is perfect and pays her to see no other clients. Gio never pushes her beyond her limits in this relationship.
It may have started as an escort/client relationship, but Penny has a way for this couple to move forward and find love!!!
Corbella will do anything in her power to keep her mom safe from her step father even if it does involve becoming an escort. She needs to make 1 million dollars or her step father will make her mother kill herself for the insurance money.

I enjoyed this book a bit. I just felt there was something off. Chapters were a bit too long. The whole "your my client and cant cross the line" got a bit boring. But the sex scenes made up for it. The plot too was a bit confusing kind of didn't make sense. But it was an enjoyable short read. Won't stop me from reading more from this author.

Short yet still a satisfying sexy read. BDSM aspect and that made it all the more sexy to me. I thought the characters had good depth and showed some vulnerability that brought realism to it. I can't wait for more from this author!

Overall not a bad read but I could have done without the name calling. I'm not a prude by any means but the constant Slut and Whore got a bit old and didn't really add to the story in my opinion. Also, and this may just be me, but I didn't care for the name Corbella.
Not one of my faves by this author but not bad either. I wanted to read more about Gio's past, it seemed like he was hiding something at some point. He was portrayed as being kind of lonely or sad but it was never explained. Besides what happened with this dad, i felt like it was set up for there to be more. Meh, could just be me. It would have been nice to read more about him and his past and why he felt the need to get an escort in the first place.

This was probably my favorite by the author. It could've easily been a full length book. I would've loved to know more about Gio's background and Corbella leading into her predicament. Reading some of the reviews I think people forget that this is fiction and it's supposed to be a way to escape reality. Enjoy the unrealistic circumstances and over the top sex.

I got swoon, steam and melted by this story. I’m a sucker for guys with Russian names, that have the whole Mafia vibe going on without out right saying they have their hands on something dirty *grins*
When I get into this kind of stories, and by that I mean, stories that are less than 200 pages on Kindle, I tend to expect the writing not to be as good or graving like a longer novel. I was dead wrong with this Penny Wylder book.
Book summed up in a few sentences? Corbella owns money to someone (we get to know how and who as the story develops) and to pay the money back without her mother “suffering the consequences”, she decides to sell her body. What she wasn’t expecting was Giovanni as her first (and only) client.
Now... this is where I’ll probably get into SPOILERS so if you keep on reading, you know what you’re up against.
In my opinion, this were the POSITIVE aspects that stood out the most.
* Holly shit the steam coming out of this book. I know it's not Pulitzer worthy or whatever but damn. My panties were... asking for a break after I was done with this story.
* I was looking for a short sexy romance and I got exactly what I was looking for. Even got the surprise that the book was more grabbing than I was expecting it to be.
* BDSM was part of this story, even if it was a small part. I love books that have this dominant aspect to them. I do have to say that I see difference in the dominant from BDSM type books and alpha male type books. I like the former the most.
* The stepfather was a nice twist of events. I get that what he was doing was illegal anyways but I was expecting him to be like . Thumbs up to Penny Wylder for that change.
At the same time, this are the NEGATIVE traits that stood out for me.
* It can be seen as the author is saying that prostitution is OK if the motives or situations behind it are life or death. I, personally, think the author just wanted to give us a hot smut story with a romantic twist and she did just that.
* The word slut and whore were used a lot. I don't like name calling but in some stories it can be done. In this one, it was not good. It felt humiliating at points even though the person saying it didn't mean it that way.
* I get that Corbella has to remind herself that Giovanni is a client and that she is doing this for mony. What I don't like is that it was almost in every single thought she had. I think it wasn't necessary to constantly remind the reader of those facts.
* A little bit more of Gio's character development/background would have been amazing to read. I have a thing for misterious, dominant characters and he fit the bill.

When waiting for her first client and freaking out in walks Giovanni, who is alpha dominant and gives everything she doesn't know she wants during sex. Giovanni asks her not to see any other clients and he's more than willing to pay her for it. She quickly jumps at the chance even knowing she will basically be at his beck and call.
She knows she needs to watch herself around him but, can't help falling for him and his domineering ways.
This book was very sexy and enjoyable and of course had a HEA.

I've already waxed poetic about my love for Penny Wylder (she's a must-read author for me) and while this book is a bit different from her other works, I enjoyed it just the same.

So it's safe to say that once again, Penny will maintain her status as a must-read author and I'm looking forward to see if she continues to broaden her artistic strokes thematically.

About the only thing that this book has is sex, sex and more sex. Although some of the scenes were seriously hot, there was just something with this book that felt very...amateurish. Drags through most of the book, then all of a sudden...bam! wrapping up the ending in what seemed like 20 words or less.
If you want a book filled with a girl chasing orgasms (yet mentally fighting with herself) then I guess this one is for you.

Holy hotness, Penny Wylder has spellbound me in Own Me. Corbella enters the world of escorting to pay her step father back in order to keep her mother safe and alive. Little did Corbella know that meeting her first client Giovanni he would be her last. I loved how there was a instant attraction between Corbella and Giovanni. I enjoyed the story line the characters and the sex was kinky as hell. Penny never disappoints and this was another great read.

3.5 stars for this one. If you are a fan of insta-lust & BDSM this is the perfect book. I think I would have rated it higher if there had been a prologue giving us a glimpse at why Corbella was in a predicament. In my opinion that would have helped to flesh the story out a little more. The heat level was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Hot,hot,hot!!!!!

Another amazing read by Penny. Corbella is in trouble and must come up with a lot of money to pay her stepdad back. Corbella never thought she would become an escort but she will do anything to protect her mother. Corbella's first client is Giovanni and he makes her an offer she can't refuse. Hot, sexy and a read you won't want to put down. Corbella & Gio are amazing together and I liked how their story ended

This wasn't one of my favorite Penny Wylder books. The sex was hot but I did not enjoy the story as much as others I have read. The way the male lead spoke to the female lead was off-putting in my opinon. To each there own, I will still be looking for new books as they are released.

Love love Penny's books and this one is no different!!
How far would you go to save a love one in danger?! For Corbella it comes down to selling her body.

A strong independent heroine who doesn’t mind being helped by a gentle, loving, Dominant dirty talker, plus a romantic story with some BDSM scenes and a HEA …… YES PLEASE !!!
It would have been very interesting to know more about Giovanni and Corbella lives previously to when they first met, this could have been a full length book.
I’ve read and enjoyed all of Penny Wylder’s books in Own me, the STORY about Corbella and Giovanni, she took a chance of writing something different adding BDSM aspects and I LOVED it, this is her best book yet.
Can’t wait to read her next book !!

3.5 stars that I'm rounding up to 4. It took me a little bit to actually get into this book. I kept putting it aside and picking it back up again so it took me several days to actually read it. I just don't know how I feel about the whole prostitution story line. Gio says it was his first and last time hiring an escort but it still rubbed me the wrong way. The story did get better though. I skimmed the epilogue.

Holy Hell that was hot...Penny Wylder has done it again! I loved Own Me so much I couldn't put it down, again who doesn't love a dirty talking dominate man (sign me the fuck up ;]) it was short sweet and smutty just the way I like it ;) I love Cor and Gio (hated her stepfather I seriously wanted to reach into the book and strangle him for what he did to Cor and her mother) , even though this was short I didn't feel like it was rushed it was the perfect pace I can't wait to read more!
