Brothers in Blue Series, Book 2

Meet the men of Manning Grove, three small-town cops and brothers, who meet the women who will change the rest of their lives. This is Marc's story...

Officer Marc Bryson doesn't believe women should be in law enforcement. Ever. When his older brother, Max, is promoted to the small town's police chief the first thing he does is hire a woman fresh out of the academy. Then makes Marc her Field Training Officer.

Determined to follow in her late father's footsteps, Leah Grant has the moxie to break any glass ceiling that stands in the way from becoming a police officer. Even if that means proving to her coach--who only wants her in his bed and not in the field--she's worthy of being a permanent member of the force.

Working in a man's world, Leah challenges Marc's misconceptions about women in the line of duty. But as they struggle to separate their work life from their undeniable chemistry, things continue to steam up and get a little kinky. These two officers of the law must toe the line after being caught red-handed.

In the end, can Leah prove to Marc that she is good as backup as well as in bed?

NOTE: This book can be read as a standalone and has a HEA.

WARNING: This book is intended for Adults (18+) only. It includes fun, but explicit, sex that includes handcuffs, nipple rings, and more!

Another HOT book about a Bryson brother from Manning Grove!

BROTHERS IN BLUE: MARC (Brothers in Blue #2) by Jeanne St. James has the second Bryson brother having to train the new police recruit who just happens to be female. For an alpha male like Marc, who also happens to still believe there should not be any female officers, being made her FTO (field training officer) by his brother the chief seems like a sick joke.

Leah Grant is determined to be a police officer just like her deceased father. She has fought all the stereotypes and risen to the top of her training class to have no one, but Max offer her a job. Manning Grove is very small town to her old home of Philly, but she is determined to make it, even with the chauvinist beliefs of her FTO.

As Marc and Leah train and ride together, their chemistry starts to override their common sense. They try to keep their work life separate from their increasing attraction, but Marc wants her in his bed as much as Leah wants to prove she is as capable as any male officer. The taboo of trainer and trainee does not stop these two, but they do keep it out of work hours.

These two have explosive chemistry in bed and are so perfect for each other. There are explicit sex scenes that are well written and have a surprising appearance of nipple rings and other sex toys. I also loved that Leah stayed at Marc’s parents’ house when she moved to town so that we continue to be involved with the whole family from Max’s story in Book #1. This romance can be read as a standalone because of its own HEA, but the family ties and small town life carry over.

I love that Ms. St. James has made each of these books in this series unique so far. I appreciate that they are not both the same premise with new names inserted. I am looking forward to what happens with the last Bryson boy, if he ever comes home!

DNF at 3%. I heard the start to this book was pretty rough and the dude quickly learns. But the embedded misogyny is just not what I’m up for reading.

“…she was joining an all male department. Leah was okay with working with all men though and actually preferred it. She hated female work drama..”

Author, great way to say you are immersed in misogyny. Disappointing start to this book.
What is “female work drama"!?

Sounds like a line someone would spout off without thinking. This woman is a rookie. How many jobs has she had? This is the author’s terrible take on women in the workplace and it makes no sense. The kind of shit she expects to get (and has already started to get) should be called “male work drama”.

Blech.

Not as good as the first book in the series but I've read way worse. For most of it, it was good but left too many unanswered questions. It was like she had a set stopping point and started skipping some very important scenes and left you thinking WTH? I'm hoping those questions get answered in the next book even though it's about different people but they are family. The scenes that got left out I guess we have to leave that to our own imagination.
Marc is the middle son. He is also a male Chauvinist pig towards women in the police force. Not even shy to admit it. With his brother as the new Chief of police in their small town he is the only one who is able to train the new hires.
Leah only ever wanted to do one thing in her life. Follow in her father's foot prints and become a police officer. She graduated in the top of her class but still no job offers until finally a small town decided to take a chance on her. The new police chief even helped in finding a place to live while she was on probation. His own parents house.
First day on the job and met her trainer. A hot sexy Marc who didn't want her to work with them but wanted her in other ways. Wonder how that's going to work??? Only one way to find out if its possible

Can be read as a stand alone

Leah, fresh out of the police academy is newly hired by Max ( now the police chief) and assigned to Marc for training. Marc has antiquated views that women shouldn’t be police officers, so his attitude isn’t the greatest when they first meet. Added to that is the fact that she is staying with his parents while she finds her own place. I found that whole situation, her relationship with his parents in such a short period of time very strange and I had a hard time getting past that. Also Leah who wants to prove herself on the job and be taken seriously as a woman officer didn’t have any problem hooking up with Marc the first time they were alone together. I’m like huh? That was not realistic and hypocritical on her part. I almost DNF at that point. I am going to read book 3 about brother Matt. He’s been deployed overseas through the first two books and I want to meet him. 2 1/2 stars for this book.

5 star review of Marc (Brothers in Blue #2) by Jeanne St James

Audio Review

I listened to Max, book one in the Brothers in Blue series and loved it, so when I saw Marc was now available I jumped right in. I adore stories about small towns and when it also has a hot as sin and totally alpha, not to mention a tad kinky cop such as Marc, then I couldn’t resist.

This was a great addition to the series. Ava Lucas and Jason Clark’s narration was spot on for these characters.

The relationship that Marc has with his whole family is great , although to be honest I wasn’t too impressed by his attitude toward women being in the police force initially. It was amusing to watch the great man be bowled over by Leah Grant as she challenged his opinions both in and out of the bedroom.

The chemistry between Marc and Leah was off the charts hot as they tried to juggle their professional and business relationships.

Can Leah prove to Marc that she is the right partner for him in and out of the bedroom or his Marc destined to be alone?

Definitely steamy.

3,75 stars.

Leah and Marc's chemistry came easier than Max and Amanda's (from the first book).
I liked Leah, how sharp and focused she was, but Marc got on my nerve with his chauvinistic ways.

I'm still having a hard time connecting with the characters and their story, especially because things seem to move a little too fast. Not their interactions, I mean.
But the problems were solved pretty quickly, without a deep change from the characters and their way of thinking.
Something like: Problem, conflict, trouble. Poof. Everything's okay now.

The story was steamy, though, and the sexy scenes were really interesting.

I love me a man in blue and Marc isn't any different. Minus his macho, women shouldn't be cops attitude. To his credit, he puts Leah through the paces of learning how to do patrol. He wasn't counting on Leah being so attractive and such a good cop. Or the Chief, his brother, being so adamant on him training her.

Leah has graduated at the top of her classes in school and the police academy. Unfortunately she doesn't get many job offers as a woman. So the one she gets, she's going to do the absolute best she can. Even if that means dealing with a hot, chauvinistic Field Training Officer in Marc.

Hot, sexy times with some good family shenanigans as well. A great read!

I received the book from a review group. I loved Brothers in Blue: Marc. I absolutely love the series Jeanne St. James has written. She has well defined characters, her Alpha's are strong and macho like we want but yet she draws us in with their vulnerable side. Marc's "Achilles" comes in the form of rookie Leah. Leah in her own right has a strong personality, a take charge kind of lady, she has to be, she is a cop after all, and herein lies the power struggle and deep attraction between Marc and Leah. Both type A's, but can they figure out who's on top??? The sexual tension and sparks fly when they get together. Leah is falling in love with his whole family and rightly so, the Bryson family is a beautiful earthy, loving family. This is a family I wish I could have. This books leaves you feeling good all over, mind, body and soul.

A good mix

I really enjoyed Marc & Leah's story. Small town where everyone know your name, taken in by good people etc etc. A feel good, laugh out loud story. And all with a touch of erotica. Definitely worth your time . The only thing I didn't care for was what I felt was an abrupt ending. An HEA type ending but abrupt. Also I advise you read Max first as it refers to characters from that book and if you don't you'll be missing out!

Ive got a hankering for somehot alpha cops

This is the second book in the brothers in blue series by jeanne st james and i really enjoyed it . Marc is the second child to the Brysons, older brother Max is the cheif of police and younger brother Matt is currently stationed over seas. Each of these books are standalones although i think they should be read in order or that could just be my OCD lol i thought Marc was the first book in the series but its Max.
Max is a funny character he is serious and dedicated to his job as a corporal in the police department his father is now a retired policeman his brother Max as i mentioned is the chief of police however Marc is a firm believer that women should not be allowed to be on the police force he believes that the job is not suited for them because they should be at home bare foot and pregnant very chouvenistic for this day and age but thats how he feels it wasnt how he was raised and his mum Mary Anne would smack him six ways from sunday if she cought him saying that out loud. The police force is to rough and hard for a woman its a mans job.

Enter Leah Grant the first woman to be given a job in Marcs police station.
She graduated top of her class she worked her ass off to get to where she is today because she wanted to follow in her fathers foot steps he was killed by a drunk driver on his way to a homicide early hours one fateful night that changed Leah and her mothers life forever .
She is a rookie and Max puts Marc in charge of her training for seven weeks at the end of that seven weeks if she passes then she will be hired permanently and will be able to work on her own. Knowing marc and how he feels about women on the police force Max had no other alternative but to put Marc incharge of Leahs training as there was no one else in there small station who could do it . So reluctantly Marc took Leah on and he was going to put her through her paces .
Soon sparks are flying left and right between them as Leah gave as good as she got and proved to Marc she was meant to be there the chemistry between them was heating up the small front seats in the squad car and Marc wasnt sure just how professional he could keep himself in the close proximity they found them selves in day in and day out . Leah unbeknownst to Marc is living at his parents house for her duration of her training and once given the all clear she would look for her own place Marcs parents had already fallen in love with leah and didnt want her to leave Marc however didnt know that Leah was staying here and felt very territorial about it . Leah gave as good as she got and she never backed down and took marcs snide remarks about women on the work force on the chin Because she was going to prove to him that not all women should be bare foot and pregnant and chained to a kitchen sink they could do that and a whole lot more. Eventually the sparks that where bouncing off between them caused an erotic fire that neither cared to extinguish and not only did Leah meet Marc head on in the feild she proved to him just how good she could be and then some in the bedroom, the barn, the bakery, the crops and the bathroom . As long as Max didnt find out what they were doing then what the hell ? Live a little love alot and boy did they ever ! The sex between them was off the charts hot and this little old reader had to stop a time or three and get a drink of water i thought i was going to dehydrate just from reading there sex scenes alone. Leah wasnt shy when it came to sex she knew what she wanted and what she wanted was Marc to devour every inch of her body Marc was blown away at the little spitfire because she was exactly what he needed when it came to how he liked things in the bedroom both having dominant personality made for funny banter and lots of laughs . It was good to see Marc slowly change his thinking about women being cops leah did nothing but be herself and show Marc that she was just as capable as he was i loved the connections between the characters and the people in there lives the closeness of family and the typical alpha bullshit between brothers. Due to a situation that had Marc, lets just say tied up shall we ? lol Max finds out about what has been going on between Leah and Marc and he is not happy at all and both Leah and Marc are sent to the office for a thorough talking to until Marc brings in the calvery , that being Max wife Amanda that is who lets just say brings down Max blood pressure in only a way a wife can .
All things worked out in the end but it was a really good read and im looking forward to reading both Max and Matts stories. It was a great read .

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What happens when a male Alpha Marc and a female Alpha Leah get together? In the case of Marc in Brothers in Blue some very steamy situations.

Leah recently graduated from the police academy at the top of her class. Unfortunately being a female in uniform can be a bit of a challenge being accepted into the mostly boys club. After being passed over by several potential precincts she is finally accepted by the police department in Manning Grove. She is excited about being able to follow in her father’s footsteps and starting to make a dent in her student loans.

Marc is totally against women being in uniform. He feels that they are not physically able to handle the more physical aspect of the job. His chief has informed him that he will be training the new female recruit for the next two months and he’s not pleased. He intends to make sure she follows every rule and will give demerits for any mess-ups.

Marc and Leah have instant chemistry and both are trying to pretend that they are not taking sneak peaks at each other.

While Leah is strong willed and able to handle herself there is a vulnerable side to her also. She is more reserved but not a push over. She is very professional in her job. She also has no problem going after some much needed relief when a certain someone pushes her to the limit.

Marc even thou his character spouts the usual woman shouldn’t be police officers his actions except for the first day shows what’s really underneath. Marc is very protective of women. His main concern is that they may be hurt on the job and is worried that he may not be able to forgive himself if they are hurt while protecting him. He does bluster a lot but thankfully his character shows a lot of depth and concern and knows when to hold his thoughts or was that because he was threatened with bodily harm from the women in his life.

As he is her training officer Marc knows that he should stay away, however their mutual attraction makes it very hard for him to keep their relationship strictly professional.

There are so many laugh out loud moments in this book. As Marc is trying his best to not think of Leah in a sexual manner he distracts himself by naming parts of a pig. Leah also has her share of feisty inner dialogue that makes you snort. Marc’s family is warm loving and downright hysterical. The town’s people are such characters that you feel a kinship to all of them.

This was a great read with fully developed characters that were both strong and vulnerable at varying times. I bonded with both of them. Loved how much of a boy Marc really is and how strong and sweet Leah is. Jeanne St. James definitely one of my new favorite authors.

When I started this book, I was sure I could not love Marc more than I did Max....but Jeanne St James has my heartstrings tugged in two directions now! Marc is put in charge of training rookie officer Leah Grant. With a chip on his shoulder, he begins her training, but the idea of a woman police officer is not one he favors and is not afraid to let her know it. Leah will do anything to prove she can be an effective asset to the force, and Marc's jabs just make her try harder. And the foreplay begins. This sizzling hot couple kept me captivated the entire book. Leah is a force to be reckoned with. She is tough, and knows how to put a man in his place. Marc is that alpha male with that chauvinistic tone, and he still can make a woman's heart patter. But these are not the only things that make this book so good. I loved the family scenes, especially the interaction with Marc's father. Getting to see Amanda, Max and Greg also gives that continuity and feeling of coming home as I listen. Enjoying a couple of laugh out loud moments along with a hot, passionate love story makes for a great listen, and this was exactly that!

Bringing these characters to life needs a team of narrators that can provide a variety of voices. Jason Clarke gives the Bryson men that authoritative, alpha sound, each with their own voice. I love his ability to give Marc the attitude and turn it around and show a slight vulnerability. This guy is a tough one, and Clarke shines with him. Leah is a headstrong, confident woman, and Ava Lucas fills her with that great voice. You can hear her frustration, her indecision and her passion all coming through with the different inflections Lucas uses. Plus, we get to bring back Greg, which I absolutely love! This is a wonderful team and fantastic narration.

When they fall, ladies, they fall hard!!
I enjoyed book one but I LOVED book 2. We still get a little of our favorites from book 1 so don’t worry.

The description says Leah has moxie and that is exactly how I would describe her! She is a kick butt kinda girl she isn’t going to stand back let things happen she is a doer.
The interaction between her and Marc CRACKS me up. I love how chemistry will get you EVERY time. They really do “try” and you have to give them points for that.
This is just a great story of you think you know but you don’t. Love/lust can sneak up on you when you least expect it.

Let us talk about the sexy times because holy crack-a-moly they were H - E - L - L - A HOT, I thought Jeanne St. James had given us hot before she was merely giving us only a taste! I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us.

Now let’s talk about these narrators shall we, Jason Clarke drizzling chocolate I swear his voice is smooth and silky like drizzling chocolate I can’t get enough. Ava Lucas, no joke this lady’s voice is like a shot of aged whiskey it’s gravely and salutary everything you don’t expect and everything you want. I am a huge fan. If you can’t tell. ;)

I originally read this in the trilogy book that came out but figured it deserved its own rating and review.

This book follows the second of three brothers who live in small town Manning Grove. In their stories each of them meet the women who will change their lives for the better.

Marc is a little sexist in the fact that he believes women should not be in law enforcement ever. Once his bother Max gets promoted to police chief in their small town, what does he do? Hires a female fresh out of the academy and makes Marc her Field Training Officer.

I love how Leah challenges and shatters Marc's misconceptions about women in the line of duty. She has kicked butt in that she has challenged the misconceptions and stereotypes of everyone to rise to the top of her class.

OF course it helps that their chemistry is off the charts! Hot tamales.

This is the prefect small town romance, with a hot as sin and totally alpha cop. It is the perfect addition to the Brothers in Blue series and I cannot wait for the third brother's story!

Marc is assigned to the new hire at the police station. His older brother Max has been promoted to Chief. Everyone knows every thing in the small town they live in. Marc doesn’t want to the the Field training officer especially when he realizes it is a woman.

Leah wants to follow in her fathers footsteps and be a police officer. She graduated the academy at the top of her class but no on wanted to hire a woman they all wanted men. When Max gives her a job she doesn’t know what to expect of Marc who doesn’t care of women in this job.

When they meet they are both attracted to each other but keep it t themselves. Marc does train Leah well and makes it a bit hard for her. They are both wanting to be in control in and out of the bedroom.

The characters are great and even though I did not read the first book I didn’t feel lost. Be warned It does make you want to read all of the books in the series.

This is the second book in Jeanne St. James' series that I have read, and all I can say is "there must be something in the water" in that small little town, because the men and women there certainly seem to be as randy and horny as rabbits. Which is a good thing for readers wanting a hot juicy taste of erotica, which the author delivers in vivid details. It was also a not-so-subtle smack back at the chauvinistic men still around who think a woman's place is in the kitchen and in the bedroom. But, I liked this book even better than the first one because it seemed to have even more laugh out-loud moments and situations in it, at least for me. I would NEVER be able to read this in a crowded location - like EVER, it was too good and fun to read quietly. I am definitely looking at getting my hands on book #3 and adding it to my TBR pile. This is a voluntary review in exchange of a free copy of this book from booksprout.com.

3.5 Marc and Leah Stars

Marc is the second book in the Brothers in Blue series by Jeanne St. James. Although I did enjoy this book, it wasn't as good as the first one in the series. My thoughts on Marc at the start was he was a chauvinist pig towards women in the police force. It was a little painful to read. But as the book went on he did tend to change his mind.

Leah who wants to prove herself on the job and that she can be just as good as the male officer if not better and be taken seriously as a woman officer didn’t have any problem hooking up with Marc nearly straight off the bat. This was a little off for me.

I thought the storyline was rushed in parts and filled with a little too much hanky panky instead. I would have liked that the story was more filled out instead of this. But it was an enjoyable book and I will continue with the series.

Well, handcuff me and pierce my nipples, please.

Marc, excuse me Officer Marc finds women in the line of duty to be just plain wrong. Even after he gets his very own G.I. Jane to work with. She proves him wrong in many, many ways. She schools him on the finer points of women in the line of duty. Along the way they both learn a few lessons on working with handcuffs.

Leah has some moves to share. She has skills, acumen, finesse, and the ferocity to make all her goals come to pass and then pass them in the dust. She just has to get around, on top of, or between Officer Marc. She proves to him that she can be good in so many ways and the only bad way will cost him a lot more than just some handcuffs.

I have to read book one of this series, Brother in Blue: Max. This one set the pages on fire.

I thought after listening to Max and Amanda’s story this series could not get any better. I should have known better.
Leah Grant, a strong, confident, no nonsense woman, wants to work in a predominately male occupation, a police officer.
Marc Bryson is placed in charge of Leah’s training, and he is not happy, being of a mind that women shouldn’t be in this occupation.
I laughed, I praised, Leah as she proved repeatedly to the conceited, egotistical Marc how wrong he was, at work and in the bedroom. Way to go Leah you made the women in this world proud.
This by far is my favorite in The Brothers in Blue series.
In addition to that Jason Clarke and Ava Lucas made the story even better in there narration.
This is my fair and honest review for the author Jeanne St. James thank you.

Women's lib has come a long way, with women working jobs that previously were male only roles. However, just because a woman is trained in the role, it doesn't mean that some men feel that some roles are suitable for women. Whether due to the protective nature of the male or the thought of a female not having the same strength and ability. it is difficult to curtail these ideas.
So this is the scenario, a police officer, known for his attitude against women in the police force is the only option as the FTO (Field Training Officer) for the police department in a small county police department. When the new recruit is an attractive woman, things go a little haywire.
It's a good read, with a couple of sexual encounters that will make you laugh.
I throughly enjoyed this book.

The handcuffs scene is pretty hot then it turns hilarious. This book has several humorous parts that are pretty hilarious. I haven't liked this series as much as the DAMC and the In the Shadows series which had tons more exciting action scenes with kidnapping, rapes, murder, and all manner of intriguing stuff happening... This story has two scenes but it isn't really to intense... I guess I expected maybe more intense scenes especially since I came into this series because it was suggested reading before the next series of MC that's set in this town... Obviously this must be pre the MC unless the people on the mountain are the MC...making crack... I sorta don't think that fits... But one more and I can start the series I really hope sorta follows in the footsteps of the DAMC...

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Marc and his two brothers are ready to begin the rest of their lives. In this book we meet and discover Marc's story. He's made Chief of police in their town and the first thing he does is employ a fresh out of academy recruit called Leah. Her father was also in the police force so she has a lot to live up to. The attraction between Marc and Leah is off the charts, but is it enough? He wants her in his bed but she wants more. Can she change his mind? A fast paced. steamy love story that captured my imagination at the beginning and held it to the end. A great short read. Recommended.

I think Pop and Ma are my favorites. This story picks up some time after the first book as Amanda and Max are now married and Max is the police chief. The story is cute and fast paced. Several scenes had me belly laughing or wide eyed with could have been thoughts. I liked the addition of the police work and the input from Ma and Pop regarding their sons views on women and their work place. Teddy is precious and I love her character personality. Menace is adorable. I loved how vividly he was described and how much all the characters love the two dogs. The third brother has me intrigued and i enjoyed this story much more than the first!

Yuck.

The star is for the dog.
Leah is gross. Literally the kind of garbage woman that most of us try to avoid. Instead of proving herself by doing a good job and telling him where he can stick his attitude, she screws up, making him not entirely wrong, sleeps with him, gets pissed that he hasn’t changed his mind, outs him to his boss/brother by humiliating him, then threatens to out him to everyone else to manipulate him. The boss/brother isn’t really any better. Blech. A chauvinist, a woman who acts like a child, a jerk boss/brother, a wife who plays her husband while he’s working, a doofy mom, and a dad who should mind his own business. Ugh. Couldn’t even finish it.

Again this is why I love these challenges, they have led me to so many good books and authors. I picked this for a team challenge and was hooked from the start. That is one hot brother and the sparks between Leah and Marc is so believable that I couldn't be upset that things progressed so fast. And their dad is one hot Poppa who can massage my feet anytime. Now I have to go back to read book one as I have book 3 already. To top it all off this was a free book. I would love to run into Marc, his dopey dog and his piercings.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am surprised I enjoyed a book with the H a male chauvinist. Marc believes a woman's place is not in a squad car, but is listing after his trainee, Leah. Leah is determined to prove him wrong. These two are well written, interesting characters, and their chemistry palpable. The book is fast paced and a quick read. Marc's family is close, sometimes too close, which adds to the book. This is the first I've read by Jeanne St James, and won't be the last.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review... I read Brothers in Blue: Marc and enjoyed it... but then again what woman in her right mind doesn't like a man in uniform... but this was the guy getting girl and keeping the girl safe from the enemy No Matter What even if you have to argue with her... but he knew how to shut her up half the time... I gave this book 5 stars because I absolutely loved it... I would recommend this book to any of my friends to tell them to read it...
