Most of you have heard me say this before, but for those of you that don’t already know, I’m a HUGE reality TV junkie, the trashier the better. If you saw my DVR you would probably cringe in embarrassment, but I have no shame. Real Housewives? Yep, every city. Teen Mom? Yes please, both OG, 2 and the U.K. versions. Top Chef? Uh huh. Big Brother? Hell yes, I can’t wait for the finale tonight although I can’t stand any of the remaining cast members. I could go on and on, but my point here is

I loved America's Next Reality Star, so when I was offered an ARC of Sweet Reality, I jumped at the opportunity to get my hands on an advanced copy -- and I loved the second book in the series even better than the first. Funny, fast-paced, and touching, I loved following Jen, Justin, and the rest of the cast as they cruised around the Caribbean. (Also: I want the recipe for Madison's cupcakes.) Looking forward to the final book in this fun-filled trilogy!

Sweet Reality is the second book in the Reality Star series. This story takes place about a year after the end of the first book, America’s Next Reality Star. The sweetheart couple from that book, Jen and Justin, have successfully transitioned from on-screen flirting to a full-blown romance.

Now things are moving in a serious direction. Jen has moved from Seattle to Florida with the plan of using her winnings to invest in a bakery with Justin’s sister, Sarah. Sarah and Jen have grown very close
The drama and tension continues in Sweet Reality. This time no fishbowls, it is time for a cruise!

So I just had to continue reading this series. The first one had left in need for more. And how can I resist more drama and romance? Plus this time on a cruise ship. Ah, one day I hope that I can also go on a cruise ship, until then books (with very nice descriptions of everything) will have to do.

I have to say that I liked this one less than the previous book. Because of the drama. It was just too

Laura Heffernan writes in such a fun, accessible manner that her books are hard to put down. This sequel to America's Next Reality Star has everything readers of the first book might expect: friends, enemies (many enemies), suspicions, the biggest sorts of foul-ups and misunderstandings, and plenty of romance. Our hapless stars from the first book appear again here, along with the usual cast of characters. It was great to see them all again (although I wanted to scream at J&J that a reality ...more

This book combines many of my favorite things: like reality tv, vacations, and sweets. A fun and entertaining story. Jen and Justin will take your mind off the political squabbles going on in our world as Jen struggles to wrest the perfect cupcake recipe with secret ingredients from her fellow reality stars. Complete with cheating exs and vicious reality star rivalries. Just too fun!

A very fun follow-up to the fun AMERICA'S NEXT REALITY STAR! (That said, there's enough context woven into this book that you don't have to read the first one to enjoy it!) Plenty of drama (those chapter-ending cliffhangers kept me turning pages long after my bedtime!) and lots of humor. A very enjoyable read!

After "The Fishbowl" is over, Justin and Jen are together, living in Miami Florida. Jen is roommates with Justin's twin sister, Sarah and they are about to open their own bakery that will sell cupcakes, cookies and other goodies inspired by reality star. Everything goes well, until strong competition is hosted across the street. The competitor is a well established firm and they have already opened before the girls' bakery grand opening. Now the girls need to find some

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.  Thank you!

This is the second on the Reality Star series and in my opinion can not be read as a stand alone.  In order to understand the characters I would recommend reading the series in order.

I think I have said it before but there are some reality shows that are a guilty pleasure for me.  While I only indulge in one, maybe two

“I didn’t come here to make friends.”

If that line didn’t fill your head with reality show villains from the past, this likely isn’t the book for you.

To truly enjoy this fabulously cheesy beach read, you need to have:
1) Seen and enjoyed some reality TV: Bachelor (or –ette), Rupaul’s Drag Race, or even terribly trashy ones like I Love New York – even if you sneak watch them and pretend you don’t.
2) Read book 1.

If you haven’t read book one, stop now. You won’t know or love (or hate) our characters

This is the second book in the Reality Star Series and I must say it was very entertaining.

Jen and Justin are still entertaining as a couple and so are the past characters. This book had great character, a good plot, and was very well written. This book was a great book that's length was just right and so was the drama. All the characters seem to fall into place and this made the book such a joy to read.

This book had a little of everything in it, drama, romance, comedy, and e

A romantic cruise, some cupcakes and friends, what a delicious thought.

Sweet Reality by Laura Heffernan is the second addition of the Reality Star Series and it is great. Jen and Justin are dealing with family problems, a bar exam, a new bakery business, money, and trying to make time for their own relationship. Sounds normal, right? Now add in a offer of a free ocean cruise. This is just what they needed, time to themselves, beautiful scenarios, free publicity for the bakery and no cost to them

Sweet Reality by Laura Heffernan is the second book in the Reality Star series. If you haven't read the first one, no worries, this book can be read as a standalone. A fun, romantic comedy, the newly released Sweet Reality is sure to make your day if you are a lover of the said genre.

Jen and Justin are back together on another reality show. They met in their last show and have been a loved couple since they quit together. This time, they have been invited, along with other stars of various reali

Sweet Reality is the second book in the Reality Star series, so you must read America's Next Reality Star first to really understand, as it takes place about a year after. Jen and Justin have graduated from flirting in front of America, to a full blown romance, and things have taken a more serious turn in love. And then they get offered an all expenses paid cruise for previous stars, which they thought was just what they needed. That's all I'm giving up, so if you want more, just get read the bo ...more

* I received a kindle copy of this ebook through the Goodreads First Reads Giveaway Program, however, that in no way affects my review or opinions. *

This was my first time reading author Laura Heffernan, but it won't be my last. This book was fun, flirty, and unpredictable. It left the reader wanting more! It made them laugh, cry, and have them sit on the edge of their seat wondering what was going to happen next. The reader frantically turned the pages to see where the story was going to take t

In real life, reality television is not my thing. I honestly feel bad for the contestants on shows like these and I generally don't watch them, so I wasn't too sure how I'd feel about reading one. Since I jumped in with the second book in this series, I decided to start with the first and read both, so you're sort of getting a double review here? I absolutely loved them both! The author's writing style is fantastic and Jen's character drew me in immediately. I found myself thoroughly addicted to ...more

A stellar sequel to America's Next Reality Star! I enjoyed every page of this fun novel (while developing a serious jones for yummy cupcakes) and hope that there will be another installment in this series.

Heffernan excels at witty dialogue, fast-paced plotting, and painting a vivid reality-show scene...from the constant paranoia that must dog contestants about whether their on-screen relationships are real, to unseen relationships with producers/camera people, to the ruthlessness of the business

HUGE twist at the end and a few shocking secrets that I had not a clue until it was revealed!! The 2nd book isn't as good as the first, but I still loved it. Again, I'm not that big into reality TV, but this book was such a fun and entertaining read. One of the big secret was discovered by Justin first before Jen found out. If he had told her from the beginning....I guess there really wouldn't be so much drama and a story for the 2nd book. There were annoying couple drama that made me want to sh ...more

Sweet Reality is a fun romantic comedy that will whisk the reader away! I was fortunate to receive an advanced copy and this was my first introduction to Jen and the gang. I was instantly caught up in the story and couldn't put it down. As an avid cruiser I had a blast with the location and I just loved the romance!

*I read this in exchange for an honest review. It's taken from my book blog, the eccentric trilogy*

I sometimes struggle with reading sequels. The first book is often so much better than the second or third, which can sometimes ruin the entire series for you. Even years later, the prospect of reading the Hunger Games frightens me because Peeta’s character turns so nasty in the third book, and poor Prim had such a rushed death scene. Honestly though, I’m so glad I persisted with this one because i

Sweet Reality is the second book in the Reality Star Series and I highly recommend reading Book One first before attempting this beast.

We’ve got drama drama drama, my friends! Jen is opening a new bakery and there is competition right next door. We have family issues (yikes). Jen and Justin are stressed OUT, people! I mean, how can these two finally begin a relationship when there is so much…stuff!

Sweet Reality by Laura Hefferan is the 2nd book in her Reality Star series. Sweet Reality continues the nice cute romance between our couple from the first book, Jen and Justin. If you enjoy Reality shows, then you will get a kick out of this series. Jen is starting her own bakery with Justin’s sister showcasing many of the desserts from the show they were on. When a popular bakery chain opens across the street, Jen is concerned that they will fail.

At the end of America's Next Reality Star, the reader watched Jen and Justin ride off into the sunset. At the start of Sweet Reality, we meet up with the couple sixteen months into their established relationship. Jen and Justin are a typical couple with typical challenges. Justin is struggling to pass the bar and help his parents. Jen is starting a bakery with Sarah, Justin's twin sister. When offered a free cruise, the couple understandably jumps at the chance for some relaxation and romance. O ...more

OMG!!! If you love reality TV then you will love this book! Sweet Reality is book 2 in this series and you really must read these in order.

In the first book Jennifer gets cast on a reality show called The Fishbowl. She has nothing else to lose when signing up because her personal life is already a wreck and since she is single, unemployed and essentially homeless she figures what the heck. Fast forward just over a year and we find Jen in a much better place, in love and getting ready to open up

This series is a great light beach read for a sunny weekend.

In the acknowledgements at the end of the book the author states that she had more even more fun writing this book than the first Reality Star book, I think that shines through easily. Sweet Reality pulls in the characters that you love and love to hate from the first installment and peppers in a few additional supporting characters that fit easily into the mix.

I enjoyed the way the author portrayed reality TV in all its cheesy/ campy
