The Dom's Virgin

Rate this book
Ever heard of a virgin romance author?
Now you have. Spoiler alert: it’s as sad as it sounds.
My roommate thinks I should do some research to help my writer’s block.
When a billionaire publishing executive rejects my book, she has the perfect idea.
The perfectly terrible idea of tricking him into bidding on me through a BDSM site.

I know how it sounds. Crazy. Stupid. Irresponsible. Check, check, check. I couldn’t agree more.

Yes, he’s practically dripping with sex appeal. Yes, any woman with a pulse would kill for a “hello” from him. And yes, he looks like he belongs on a movie screen.

But as far as I’m concerned, he’s just the jerk who rejected my book, and all I care about is getting a chance to tell him off in person. That’s it. Mostly.

Then again, maybe my roommate has a point. A night with him would probably give me enough material to fill half a book.

He wants more than a night, though. He wants a month. And he wants me to sign a contract saying I’m completely and totally his.

I can sign the contract and basically become the heroine from one of my books, or I can say no and keep on living my normal, boring life. Hmm, tough call

**This is a full-length, standalone billionaire BDSM romance. No cheating or cliffhangers, and as always, Happily Ever After guaranteed. Includes bonus content!

Penelope Bloom

USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon Charts Bestselling author Penelope Bloom is taking her first flight into romantasy—and yes, there are dragons. After years of contemporary romance, she's temporarily trading meet-cutes for magical academies and coffee shops for castles that reek of blood. She promises the banter is just as sharp, but now it comes with deadly consequences.

Fun fact: “Penelope Bloom” started as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the family dog, Penelope—never meant to be anything serious. But then the books took off, and the name stuck. Behind the scenes, Penelope Bloom is actually a husband-and-wife team. He handles the writing; she edits, helps with brainstorming, and runs the reader-facing side of things (like social media and messages). So if you’ve chatted with “Penelope” online, you’ve likely been talking to her—with the author chiming in whenever needed. Together, they’ve built the voice readers know and love.

Danger, BDSM, intrigue, a dominating alpha male, a virgin, panty-melting sex scenes, a great storyline... another great read by one of my favorite authors. The Dom's Virgin is unique and a little on the dark side.

I volunteered to review an advanced readers copy of this book.

**An ARC was received for an honest review**

Brianne is a blank canvas and if she lets me, I could turn her into a fucking masterpiece.

Ok first off. Panty SCORCHING scenes...I mean...WOW...

Jackson is one of the most daring, sexually driven men I have read about and I love him for it. I will never look at a storage closet the same way again.

Him and Brianne together are SO adorable and I loved them together. I felt for them and I fell in love with them so easily and completely...

My ONLY complaint was there was a bit to much of side story business going on...with her small side story and his MAJOR side story (no spoilers given) I felt that the parts that I love about the book were a bit scrambled in the mess of better drama. EITHER her story should have been pursued and been the main story or his should have been. But both together was a bit much. I think the beginning of HOW his side story started was a bit weak and could have been better thought out but maybe that's just me?

Overall though I do have to admit I loved this book and I totally want to know what happens with Hunter and Lacey...

This plot had a great foundation but was not executed well. Each main character had a side story going on, in addition to the brewing romance between the two. Far too much of the plot was spent on what was going on in Jackson’s life. Also, the back story for it was confusing, minimal, and what happened was not realistically progressed.

One of the main focuses of the story was that Brianne was a virgin. When the two finally progressed to rectifying that matter, the author sped through that part and gave little to no detail. Essentially, it was little more than “Jackson is touching me, now he’s inside me, time to cuddle”. For such a vital part of the plot, it was build up heavily but the climax, pun intended, was thoroughly disappointing.

Overall, I liked the story, the characters, and the idea behind the book, but how it was developed left me thoroughly disappointed.

I have to say the story surprised me. I thought it would be a bit more into the harder BDSM...so glad it isn't!

Almost a fairy tale, with mafioso as the Evil Dragon, a hot, gorgeous alpha Dom as Prince Charming, and a wanna be writer as the damsel in distress. Only problem is she wasn't really in distress until she got mixed up with the Prince! Go figure...

Great story full of excitement, romance, bad guys, romance, bad girls, and did I mention romance?
Totally enjoyed and it is worth reading this fun, fast paced story!

You will also find a sneak peek of Punished and a copy of Dark..a bad boy mafia romance...more on these when I finish them!

I think I need a break from contemporaries for a while. In historicals, I can believe the whole “meet/fall in love/get married” in a month thing, because that was the only way a man and a woman of a Certain Station could ever be alone together. But in contemporary romances? Nope. This is another book from the same author that felt very rushed toward the end.

I love a book that has strong characters in it and this one really does. This is a book that has some BDSM in it and a man that likes to take control and keep it.

Brianne has wanted to be an author and as an assignment for college she sends it to a publishing company. She doesn't get a good letter back. She is so mad and she feels worthless. Her friend thinks of a way to get him back and Brianne writes him an email back. She never knew that it would get out of hand.

Jackson has not been with a woman for a year because of something that happened to one of his subs. He has the itch coming back and knows that he wants a virgin this time. He is a good man even though people might not think so. He is a man that loves his sister and wants to do what he can to make up for what happened to them. When he meets Brianne he knows that she is different.

I like a strong alpha male that knows how to treat a woman. I would love to meet a man like Jackson. In this book you will find out that there is more going on then what you think. There is some suspense and you get taken on a adventure. The author did a great job writing this book. I have had the pleasure of reading several books by this author and this is the best one by far.

You really need to read this book and see what happens.

I voluntarily read an ARC copy of this book.

Not a bad read. I didn't really like the drama. Didn't seem to fit. I didn't like the way it was handled either. But the book was good. Story was interesting.

Decent

This was a decently average book. The sexy parts were less than average, and the relationship just kind of flipped a switch without too much inner turmoil from Jackson. I really disliked the Dominicans; the author is good at bad guys. This was mostly a miss for me, but I am a pretty jaded reader. Maybe you will like it better.

Another great read by Penelope Bloom about a virgin, Brianne, and a dominant billionaire male alpha, Jackson. Brianne wants to be a romance writer but is struggling beacause she doesn't know what I feels like to be in love or in the bedroom. Jackson is the owner of a publishing company and after sending Brianne some harsh words about her writing, Brianne decides to stick up for herself and sends him an email. When her roommate intervenes and sends him a message on his BDSM site they meet. She has her secrets but so does he and until they can be honest with each other they don't have a chance. When a dangerous situation arises the truth comes out and what happens after....you'll just have to read.
A great story with some drama and an emotionally broken billionaire who needs a woman to help him heal. The ending seemed too rushed for me after the dorm incident and I would have liked an epilogue further into the future.

I decided to give this author another try after reading another book recently. I enjoyed this story line better. Brianna was annoying and immature at the beginning of the book but has the story developed she grew on me. I like Jackson, at times he was way too cocky for his own good. He was kind and gently. Again the story seemed a little bit too rushed at times.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

She is a romance book writer and holding on to her own little secret....she is still a virgin. Brianne notices that her book only gets so far and then she has nothing. She is unable to draw off of her personal experiences, since there is none. Down on herself is how she is feeling before getting to class, and now it is her book the class is critiquing. OUCH! the comments are not kind, and neither is the letter she received from a certain publisher by the name of Jackson. What he said hurt and angered her. Now Lacey (Brianne's roommate) has created a way for Brianne to address this rude man....only there is a slight change in plans...

He is frustrated by having this new authors "books" on his desk all the time, he is also still blaming himself for a dark past and a dark event that has really changed him. Oh yes, Jackson is a brooding alpha male, and after a year in morning he needs to get back to his roots, the sum of what makes him a better man, and a delicious man....he is on a special site to find his next submissive, he is looking for one he can train, a fresh start.....a virgin. So when Jackson gets a message from this angry and ornery young lady, he is more than intrigued. Now it is time for the two of them to meet.

The exchange of this is she tells him she is a virgin, she asks to meet him, he asks for proof (medically) that she is what she says she is. He is going to this meeting looking for his next sub, she is coming to this meeting thinking it is to discuss her book/writing. Neither of them are prepared for the way they feel around each other. He has never felt like this or felt anything really for his subs before. Here this young lady stands and he knows he wants and needs her, to a depth unusual and odd to him, but he is headstrong and knows what he wants. She is attracted to him, when he offers her the funds and a contract to be his for a set period of time, she is hesitant and doesn't like feeling "bought and used." They meet up a few times, all before this contract to be his is signed. He likes it and her, she likes him and is curious about the whole thing.

Then a string of events happen....there is another secret from Jackson exposed, it grips you I will warn you, and a situation he didn't realize would be there come up during the course of their time together. Also a secret that Brianne has been holding onto is exposed during this time. As this goes further, there is also an introduction of Lacey to Hunter (Lacey is Brianne's roommate, Hunter is Jackson' bestie) Not so nice guys in black suits show up and up and up. An RA (college) that has an ulterior motive, and a whole lot of chase between Jackson and Brianne but of those two from others.

There is also the moment that they are together and there is a mighty fire burning between these two. There is also feelings that are new to both of them, a twist with the RA and a twist with the men in the black suits.....and let's not forget the time spent together with Brianne and Jackson. Trust....plain and simple, right?! Not so simple and not so easy, but learned and given. The fun these two have, the hardship, the exposure of secrets and their happy ever after have you on a wild up and down ride. The whole time you are glued in and eager to see what they are doing the whole time. It is soooo good.

When I was trying to decide what book to read, part of me craving a billionaire book and some part of me was craving a BDSM book Well with this book I got both. I have never read anything from Penelope Bloom. I have to say I loved her writing. The characters in his story were amazing.

Brianne was a college student and hoping to be a writer one day. The problem was she wanted to be a romance author but she had experience when it came to sex. So she was having some major writers block.

I loved Bri’s best friend Lacey. If anyone was going to see that Bri was going to give up her “V” card to a billionaire it was Lacey. She done everything to make sure Bri met Jackson.

Oh. Jackson was sexy as all get out. He was this sexy billionaire that was a Dom. Yip he was into the BDSM thing. He had been out of the life style for a while due to some tragedy but was ready to change. I love that he was open to more then a fling with Bri.

My heart broke for Jackson and she sister Sarah. Reading the story about their past and all they been through was truly heartbreaking. They had been through so much and these two only had each other.

Jackson finds himself in some danger. The problem is this danger does not only affect him but the ones around him. He will go above and beyond to keep Bri and his sister safe.

There are a few hot steamy parts in this book. Jackson loves living on the edge. This being some excitement to their sex life. So glad I got a chance to read the book.

Always when I read bad books I can't really think of why I don't like them, but I'll try.

First off the best friend sets the h up with someone she thought had murdered somebody. Just wow.

It's not well written. The dialogue is bad. I laughed a whole lot when some serious parts came. It really pulled me out of the story.

It wasn't really any depth to the characters, it felt like she tried a bit with the H but couldn't go deep enough.

There's some aspects of domination, but I wouldn't trust him at all after one of their trists. But all the sex scenes were lacking and not much of anything but him thinking so highly of himself it got annoying. Like, "some men can make a women come but I'm the best at taking her to heights anybody else can't take her to." (Not an excerpt from the book)

There you go. 1,5 stars but since I'm feeling particularly prickly today I'll round it down.

Brianne and Jackson make a cute couple in a way. Brianne is a college student that is trying to figure out if she would like a good writer. Jackson is a publicist so those said writers. Jackson is suppose to read the chapters that the college turned in for him to read and give feed back. He does not bother to read them but sends feed back anyways. Brianne receives her feed back and is very upset with it. She sends him an email telling what she thinks, but her roommate takes into her own hands when she finds some dirty info about him. One thing leads to another and Jackson wants her, only Jackson has some trouble following him. That puts Brianne into trouble two. Does everything work out for these two? A must read.

Given has an ARC,

A KU experiment gone wrong. The hero fantasises about finding a true submissive because "his needs" are so much more than the tame spanking most women agree to. Well, for all his needs and desires, the sex scenes turned out LITE and tame at best. I don't mind reading sugar kink but I do expect more finesse from a dom and altogether more chemistry between the characters. For the heroine's devirginisation night the dom started off with wax play (no proper preparation included, of course) and a hood. But two minutes later the scene already has finished. The kinkiness wasn't well executed at all and the suspensec subplot with the Dominican mafia was so unnecessary and just there to fill the pages. Steamier sex scenes could have improved the story seriously! D+

Loved this book! The chemistry of Jackson and Brianne is real and tangible. She is quiet and meek in the beginning with a little fire but as the story progresses, she finds her fire. Jackson is the ultimate Dom/alpha. He starts to feel more for Brianne as the story goes. The Dominicans throw a wrench in the relationship and gives us the intrigue. Loved the characters and the friendships. Would recommend for a good read!

I received this book in advance for an honest review. Brianne is a college student trying to make her mark writing romance books but she gets stuck every time because she has no experience to write about. A chance email she sends to Jackson, the billionaire publisher who criticized her work, and a little help from her pushy best friend, Brianne finds herself signing a contract with Jackson, a BDSM contract. Hot scenes, hint of danger and great background story.

Misleading descriotion

I thought from the description of this book that I was getting a book about a grown woman who is an author who gets involved with a real man. But its about a 20 year old college student who gets involved with a supposedly billionaire publisher. I'm so over reading stories about grown men falling for girls. This book should be classed as young adult or new adult, not as women's fiction.

This was a sweet short read but I couldn't help noticing the similarities to fifty shades of grey;
Billionaire sex god dom check
Leading man with a tragic past check
Mystery man trying to kill them check
Virgin inexperienced leading lady check
Red playroom check
Sexy friend (instead of brother) who falls for her friend check
He also owns a publishing company check
Leading lady also loves to read but wants to be an author (instead of working in publishing) check

Yeah even with this sense of deja-vu while reading this story I still enjoyed it. I found it better written actually with a much more likable leading lady our virgin princess brianne who was definitely less annoying and whiny than the other books leading lady.
And our leading man Jackson was way hotter; hot damn was he a fine specimen of a man with his tall muscular build, six pack abs, dark hair and blue eyes (would have preferred green but beggars can't be choosers lol) he was sex personified! He was definitely more alpha male, daring, sweet and approachable seeing as he has no touch issues. The intimate scenes between them were incredibly STEAMY and body temperature raising good and that scene at the convention sweet lord was it hot as all hell! It's a shame though that the most important love scene between them the night that he takes her virginity after he claims her the scene ends and moves on to the next day and I was disappointed that we weren't given full insight into how that scene would have progressed and the rest of their night together for that matter. Also I found that a man of his wealth could have hired himself some bodyguards or thugs of his own to protect them or even take care of the problem after what happened to him. It was clear enough he definitely couldn't handle it on his own as he thought and the solution he offered for the problem which was accepted I found to be a quick fix to bring the issue to a close in the story as previously he had already suggested to them this kind of solution and he had been told no.
