Do a overseas exchange, they said. Tokyo. It will be good for your artistic development. Yeah right. The only reason I agreed to the whole deal was so that I’d be well out of reach of my abusive ex.

The student co-ordinator even arranged for me to stay with a host family so I didn’t have to stretch my budget. Only, I seem to attract crazy – and this “respectable” family had

This book kept me entertained and intrigued with interesting characters especially Audrey, an exchange student from Australia and Junichi, the oldest son of her host family in Tokyo. The well-written plot had a good mix of emotion, witty dialogue and romance. Ms. Starr never disappoints and I look forward to reading more from this talented author. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Audrey only went to Tokyo to get out of a bad situation. She even had a family to stay with, until she learnt of their true reasons for having her stay with them, they want her to give their son some of life's steamier entertainments, and they'd pay her, if she agrees that is.
A hot little story. I liked the characters and the changes in the development of their relationship were well written. Great!

The Seduction Game is a spellbinding novel that will have you on the edge of your seat till the end. A sensational written & developed novel with no plot holes. The premise of the novel gives a glimpse of whats to come. The story begins with a interesting hook & moves at a good pace. The characters are compelling & realistic with distinct flaws, voices, & virtues. The secondary character's enhance the story. The world building decription's are very detailed & vivid. Audrey has had a difficult time in her life so when a chance to do a exchange program in Japan arises, she jumps on a plane. This story is told completely from Audrey's POV, and while at times I really wished Junichi's POV, hearing only Audrey's POV gave an idea of how difficult immersing yourself in another culture can really be. This quick story had a lot of ups and downs before it's time for Audrey to return home to Australia. I hope these characters get more stories!!

East meets West (or South), when Audrey goes to live with Junichi's family as a foreign exchange student. Audrey is tattooed, feisty and flippant, while Junichi is strictly about "the Japanese ways." They rub each other wrong, but somewhere along the way they start to let loose. I felt bad for Audrey's past and her reasons for wanting to go to Japan in the first place. There were complex backgrounds to the storyline and I liked how the different cultures were a big part of the book. Trying to fi ...more

It’s a hot battle of cultures – East seduces West!

Audrey is tattooed, tough and mouthy. Jumping at a student exchange to escape her extreme home circumstances, she finds herself hosted within a conservative environment, with an affluent family in Japan. The Japanese culture confuses and frustrates her and she won’t ‘immerse’ herself in it. Told in first person POV, she opens her story running from a nasty situation, and, as she brings us up to speed, putting the hates on the parents and Junichi,

Candy J. Starr used to be a band manager until she realised that the band she managed was so lacking in charisma that they actually sucked the charisma out of any room they played. “Screw you,” she said, leaving them to wallow in obscurity – totally forgetting that they owed her big bucks for video equipment hire.

Candy has filmed and interviewed some big names in the rock business, and a lot of sm
