Yeah, I’m the guy from the famous docu-drama Kennedy Benson: A True American Rags to Riches Story. But they only got the sanitized version of the story. You don’t get to be the rich and powerful bastard that I am by being Mr. Nice Guy. No, I got to where I am by ruthlessness and hard work. And I’m still only a princeling of the San Francisco club and hospitality scene. I’m ...more

I have read all of this author's books now, but Woman Named Red was far outside the box of what was I was expecting, which is crazy in itself, because the highly original Stasia Black couldn't be put in a box from her very first story. WHAT A CRAZY RIDE! Scarlett has reached the bottom of life when she meets Kennedy at a soup kitchen. She's very stubborn, and refuses to take any handouts though. Kennedy is a successful man who has no time for anyone or anything else than what he wants. When he m ...more

Like most of her books, this one is a bit dark and gritty. However, it's a trip well worth it. Two broken people finding their way to each other? Yep. But there are quite a few twists and turns in store. If you like your romance a bit on the gritty side, you're sure to like this one. A fresh, original premise to the story with characters who have enough flaws to be realistic but not so many to be deplorable.

I won't give away the plot but assure you that this is one that's well worth the read. I

I love Stasia writing, she has the ability to suck you in from page 1 and not let you go.

Scarlett is down on her luck when she meets Kennedy at the soup kitchen.

Kennedy is a straight shooting business mogul who doesn't care about anything but his businesses and himself.

Although Kennedy comes across as a arrogant man he is at least honest and admits his faults.

Scarlett is strong willed and determined to earn her way just be another charity case.

But in true Stasie fashion there are twists and turn

I guess I read a different book than some of the other people who left reviews because I enjoyed this book very much. I must warn you that this is a very long read so give yourself plenty of time to devote. Scarlett meets Kennedy Benson in a soup kitchen but he soon discovers that she is unlike his stereotypical idea of the homeless. From their first exchange, Kennedy is mesmerized by Scarlett and caught off guard by everything she does and unlike other women in his past, she does not seem inter ...more

This was my first book by Stasia Black and I loved it!! It's very different from what I normally read some hard subjects to read about but I think that's what I liked so much it's not your typical love story. Can't wait to read more from Stadia Black!!!

Beautifully written storyline with well developed characters that just hooked me into their story from the very first page and kept me captivated until the turn of the very last page!

This is very difficult to review... I really like this author, she has the ability to pull you into the story, her characters come to life and I feel part of the journey. I was fully engrossed until I reached part 2. I did not see that twist coming. I thought I knew how this was going to go.... wrong! things took a turn for the worst for me, one particular scene I was left thinking WTF?? Then things got back on track. It was definately not a smooth journey, then the whole thing fell apart for me ...more

I received an ARC from author in exchange for an honest opinion.

Stasia Black did it again with an outstandingly well written love story that includes a lot of drama! I went on an emotional rollercoaster that was so worth the ride. I absolutely fell in love with the characters; both Kennedy and Scarlet had amazing back stories that intertwined and it was difficult for me to choose a side other than love. I appreciate the multiple POV. In addition, the scheming, traps and twists were very enjoyabl

This is the first book that I've read by this author, it took me a little while to get into the book. But once I did I couldn't put it down.

The book is in 3 parts. Part 1 is Kennedy's POV, Part 2 is Scarlett's POV, Part 3 is a mixture of POV's.
The book has hatred, betrayal, lies, violence, bloodshed, loyalty, lust, love & loads of hot sex scenes.

There are loads of twists and turns that play out through the book giving you the reasons why Kennedy is so driven to be successful in business and

I liked the style of writing right off the bat with Kennedy's voice. He's a successful entrepreneur and chef who doesn't deny that he's not exactly the most noble guy on the block. To him, business is business and there's no place in his life for feelings and complications until he meets Scarlet. And that's where I ran into my struggles with the remainder of the book. It's already difficult for me to like a heroine through a male POV without meeting her on my own because oftentimes, the male foc ...more

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is a powerful story about two broken people Kennedy and Scarlet. It takes a while to learn why they are broken because of the alternating POV. It is broken down in three sections. First up is Kennedy. This section is about how he first meets Scarlet and begins a "working" relationship. Second, is from Scarlet's POV and we really get into the dark desparation that drives Scarlet to be with Kennedy. In the final section, the book alte

The blurb sounded so good and then I started to read the prologue and thought "I didn't sign up for this"...

I'm so glad I read more and wasn't closed minded about it. This book was amazing! It's not at all what the prologue made it out to be. It was sexy, and a little dark, but not too bad. It was just a great story that really made you fall in love with the characters.

Nerdy Dirty & Flirty
This story follows the meeting of Kennedy and Scarlet while Kennedy is trying to save his image volunteering at a soup kitchen. Scarlet, down on her luck and after a series of unfortunate events is living on the streets is just the beautiful girl-next-door to capture Kennedy's interest. I love the interaction between the two and really felt absorbed into the story by Black's writing. I love dual first person point of view style which Black delivered. Not only were there laugh out loud mo

I absolutely loved this book! This is a dark, erotic, romance with lots of violence. There are so many twists and turns and the most unexpected things happen that I did not want to stop reading. This is a lengthy read but I finished it in 2 days. I could not read fast enough. Kennedy and Scarlet are such broken souls. My heart bled for both of these characters. I was completely consumed by their journey. Stacia Black is rising to the top of my list of favorite authors very quickly. I love that s ...more
